I am trying to add LEED parameters to a floor type in the Type Properties. That can be seen when I create a schedule? I am unsure if this is possible but it is something we would like to incorporate in our models.
View 1 RepliesI have no problem adding a shared parameter, but if I assign it the wrong type and it appears impossible to change it without adding a new parameter under a different name. I then deleted the old one, but Revit doesn't like that. They appear difficult to purge or delete without a hiccup relating to the original label the parameter was assigned to.
Example: I made a parameter for my clients occupied area (Footprint) and used the integer type by mistake. Apparently integers are only supposed to go up to 999. It refused to recognize the "Digital Grouping" so I had to convert over to the Area type.
If I try to change the type the field is grayed out.
I created one panel family. On plan view, I added two parameter for just width and lenght (Picture 1), but at the same time, I cannot added parameter for adjust the angle in the elevation plan(Picture 2) .

I want to add parameters to my projects for consultants (type, name, company name, address, etc.) in a way that isn't deleted by updating a titleblock.
Currently my consultants are just text objects in the titleblock family that are not saved back to a default titleblock. If I reload the titleblock they get replaced by whatever default text was part of the default titleblock. I also have different titleblocks for different sheet types within the project, for example cover sheet, sheet, sketch, etc.
What I want is for this information to be part of the Project Information so I can make changes there without editing the titleblock family. I want them to function like the parameters for Client Name, Project Address, etc. and catagorize them in some generic way like Consultant A, Consultant B, etc. because not every project will have civil engineer or sprinkler designer.
I got as far as trying to create a lable in my titleblock family but when I tried to add a Category Parameter for the first lable, let's call it Consultant A Type, I get a mostly grayed out Parameter Properties dialog where the only clickable option is to select a Parameter Type, all of which are grouped under IFC Propertires and non of which seem to apply. There's no Project Information group. How do I create these lables and parameters?

Any way to get a wall sweep that's set up in the type/structure properties to follow a wall if that walls profile has changed. For example, in the image below, I've split the wall and adjusted it's profile to create some cheesy angled parapet. How do i get my wall cap to follow along? I thought splitting it and changing it's height would work, but no. And if I change the profile without splitting the wall the wall cap just runs right through the wall, as if the profiel was never even changed.

I'm recently working on a project when my Autocad Architecture 2013 just stopped working while it was saving. When i re-opened the file, I just noticed that the object properties doesn't show the full parameters of a certain object anymore. The width,height and other parameters in adding a wall is not included in the properties dialog box. Same scenario goes for all the objects, when i click on a dimension line or any line, an incomplete dialog box appears. Solutions that i've tried but nothing worked:
1. Changed User Profle Preferences
2. Changed my .CUIX in the customization file
3. Restart Autocad
4. Reset Autocad
5. Reinstalled Autocad
6. Downloaded and Installed Autocad Architecture 2013 service packs 1&2

Is there a way to get the type of the Solid3d object and its parameters?
E.g. Type = Box, Height = 100, Width = 200, Length = 100 (Or something like that)
I have a type layer with some text in it (a headline, let's say). I click on the layer, I click on the Character Panel, and first thing I see is the color in the Panel is not the color of the font in the layer.
I then click on any Panel property, and the text in this layer is replaced by text from another layer in my document ( a paragraph layer, let's say), but the color is not the same as the layer the text came from.
I am finally getting time to do some organizational cleanup and management with our templates and vault settings. Many of the things are items that I am altering for each drawing/model I make and I would like to make them "stick" for the company standards. Things like altering font size in the styles library, adding part dimensions to the parameters for the parts list, and creating a new content central library where our part numbers are already populated for the parts list and the structural shapes have datum planes in the middle rather than just at beginning and end.

I can publish a part containing a user text parameter to the content centre for use in frame generator however when I go to insert that part an error as per the attached screen shot.
To re-create the error you have to follow the below steps.

Is there a way to work around this error being created and use parts with text user parameters in Frame Generator?
in iParts factory I would like to create part ## by setting common name and adding to it different values drawn from part parameters.
Please refer to attached image – common name in that example would be “DRILL” and description of the diameter and length automatically taken from parameters in columns “DRILL_D” & “INSERT_L”.
I've created a table (a door schedule for example).The data cell type properties is "general". The door # is "001". When I type this in, it switches to just "1" and the type is swiched to "whole number." Same for another cell with a number in it, it switches the cell type on me and I don't want what it switches to. Every time I try to switch it back it doesn't do anything.
How do I stop it from automatically switching, or at very least let me override?
When opening properties tab, I always trying to make my line scale value into decimal but i didn't know how to do with it.

I set the paper to say 15 * 18 and borderless and select print. The paper size shown in the top left changes back to A4 by itself. Try setting the options again and they remain as selected. Select another photo and try to print 15 * 18 borderless and the paper size changes again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to concatenate 2 parameters into one in Revit. So I want the door parameters (i.e. Width, height) to be automatically generated by the family. I want those two parameters to be joined in one field width x height. This is what the department wants.
If I can't then I can't. I know earlier versions of Revit could not concatenate. This is one example but there re several instances where I want (2) separate fields/ parameters to report into one field that can then be used fro a schedule.
I'm trying to add some material properties to a STP or IGES file I've received from a customer (in Inventor 2011). Is there any way to add a density for example, so I can obtain the mass of the model? I've tried doing it through the iProperties menu but it's not giving me a mass.

I have a concrete block which has been created as an ipart and 6 bars running through the concrete block. I am looking to change the material properties of the bars to Alloy Steel but i'm having trouble finding any option to do so. I have changed the material properties within the ipart table to concrete, i'm not sure if this is conflicting it.

Checked global scale factor, listed the content to confirm layer and line type as hidden, etc., checked the properties, made sure the line type and color were set to "by layer". It doesn't matter between model or paper space - the lines will not read.

I know I've not got a stoke on the type and I've tried changing the aliasing. If i click on the type it disappear... click off... it appears again. It even printed on something the other day.

When I go to Edit Shared Parameters and then the create button I get an error message "The Shared Parameter file was not saved successfully". I am stuck at this point and cannot go any further. What is causing the problem and how can I work around this. I am using Revit Architecture 2011.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a pile family where i have created a Shared Text parameter under Identity data called Vert Load. I have nested this into a pile cap family in several locations and have the same Shared Text parameter. If i select the pile in the pile cap family i have the option to put a value in the properties dialogue box under Vert Load. The pile cap family is now loaded into my project and the parameters shared in the project. When i select the Pile cap in my project then i have the option to add a value for the Vert Load but in this pile cap i have 3 piles and i want to give different values for each. When i select an individual pile within the Pile cap family then the Vert Load value is greyed out.
I want these vert Loads to appear in a schedule... I've attached a couple of images.

I have loaded in my parameters for my title blocks ("Addition", "City, State, Zip", "Address", and "Lot#/Block#) in the same way I have done it in any other project. but for some reason in this project after I have loaded in my parameters and set them to my sheets and I am still not able to select them and edit them on my sheets.

But now comes the tricky part. I need to somehow add a parameter that would roundup my real lengths to my production lengths. f.eks i have couple flashings that are 2569mm And what i would like the schedule to show is that I have couple of 3000mm flashings.
My Type tool is adding punctuation to the beginning of a sentence. Checked the only thing I could think of (type preferences) and these are the options..
