View 3 RepliesI am trying to create a logo with an open sided globe. I need to draw a shape like a crescent moon.
Stacked two circles on top of each other with the edge showing, but can't make the part that isn't supposed to be seen transparent.
Not a graphic designer but have used CorelDraw since v.3. (I am using X4)
If I add markers to a source clip and enter a name, then when I open the Markers panel, I only see Comments listed, not Names?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf I have a Crescent Road (P - shape) where the Alignment returns to itself, when i draw pipe network parts in profile, the pipe network gets drawn wrong, ie. the tie-in structure at the intersection is drawn at the wrong station.
My understanding is that the structures will get drawn at the station closest perpendicularly to the alignment, so the structure is going to the end station as opposed to the beginning simply because the end segment of the alignment is closer.
Is there any way to make a structure use a different perpendicular station (without shortening the alignment)?I don't want to move alignment or structure.
where I could fine some photos of the moon, good resolution.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of creating 3D points (as an overlay) on some laser scanned data (using RiScan, it's just 3d dimensional data, with a northing, easting and RL) and unfortunately the only export option is to export to .dxf... Which is fine but when I export, the information has the point ID as the layer name.
I am aiming at getting this data into another program to analyse and it needs the point ID or name to be my annotation, as opposed to the layer.
So what I need is a way of converting the names of each individual points layer, to the point ID.
Alright, so I'm a photoshop intermediate who's really used this fine program for making web images and a few other things. Now, I've gotten into print advertising at work (yeah, get me to do it rather than outsource it and then pay me a lot less for the effort.
My issue is that I can make ads in B&W or 4C, no problem. This issue comes when I want to do a 2 color ad using a specific color. In my naivety, I presumed using 2 colors in Photoshop and outputting to a CMYK TIFF would be sufficient. The printer has informed me otherwise.
I accidentally included a file rename when I just imported a batch of several hundred pictures. I violated a rule that I teach my own Lightroom students, and that is to look carefully at the import panel choices before proceeding.
How can I correct this so that the files are named as they originally were? I know how to easily fix the filenames in Windows (using a tool called BulkRename, for example), but then I'd have to "find" each image one-by-one and correctly point to the renamed version. I tried selecting all the images and then using F2 to rename, but none of the templates allow deleting a portion of the filename.
P.S. Here is an example of what I mean:

Is there any way I can bend a 2D object? I have a drawing of a hydraulic hose running straight in the x axis. What I want to do is to be able is to bend the hose around 90 degress (to fit in a case) without altering the overall length & width. I have attached a simple drawing that should explain the problem. I know the lengths don't match, this is purely for illustration

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use the cut across bend feature on a sheet metal part. However, when I check cut across bend, it grays out all of the other cutout options, and only has thickness as the only option. This is perplexing to me, because I can't think of too many times I'd need this option other than when there is more than one thickness of material I need to manipulate the profile onto.
I was to understand that this "cut across bend" is for use similar to the "normal cutout" command in solid edge? Keeps the cut perpendicular to the sheet face in a sheet metal part.

View 9 Replies View RelatedUnder the modify tab in a part file, I can drop down and click "bend part." We have a bunch of frames made out of stock tubing that are welded together, then bent as a whole. Is there a way to bend at the assembly? I want the model to represent the production process. I don't want to have to bend each tube alone, then reassemble. That would double my parts/part numbers.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'd like to use the bend modifier to transform a square plane into a sphere with a diameter equal to the side length of the original plane (to reproduce the approach for UV mapping a sphere described here).
I've been able to bend a vertical, square plane into something very close to a sphere using two bend modifiers (the first bending the x axis by 180 degrees with a direction of 0 degrees and the second bending the y axis by 360 degrees with a direction of 90 degrees). It's necessary to move the center of the second bend modifier to obtain a sphere.
However, there are two problems with the result: the diameter of the sphere is not equal to the side length of the initial plane and it's difficult to position the center of the second bend modifier such that the sphere doesn't have holes at its poles.
The first problem occurs because (as far as I can tell) the bend modifier assigns its gizmo an initial scaling such that the object to which the bend modifier is being applyed is bent but not stretched. This is reasonable default behaviour and applying an FFD 2x2x2 modifier after the first bend modifier allows the (now bent) plane to be scaled such that the height of the sphere that ultimately results equals the side length of the initial plane. However, when the second bend modifier is applied, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to precisely position its center such that the sphere's width equals its height (the next step would be to weld the vertices at the two poles). This is also the cause of the second problem since positioning the bend modifier's center correctly would also remove the holes at the poles.I've attached a max file (in a zip file) for reference (also see the left-to-right sequence in the image below):
- Plane001 is the initial square plane
- Plane002 is after the first bend modifier has been applied
- Plane003 is after adjustments have been made with the FFD modifier
- Plane004 is after the second bend modifier has been applied
- Plane005 is after the center of the second bend modifier has been adjusted.
