Photoshop :: Swiss Font Family
Oct 8, 2008We seem to be having difficulty with the Swiss font family. Is there a reason why they don't work? We are using CS3.

Photoshop Elements :: Text / Font Family - How To Get Drop Down Menu To Work
Jan 17, 2013I can't change the text fonts in Elements 9. Most everything else seems to work except the font family drop down menu. When I click on the arrow, the menu drops but immediately dissappears. The font size drop down works but not the family menu.

Mar 25, 2013I'm building a script that will open a dialog box allowing the user to select a font family from a drop down list (not a list of all of the fonts), and then compare that value against the fonts that are in use, highlighting everything that doesn't match. I have not yet built the dialog, but I've got everything else working as I want except the list of font families.
The following code loops through the list of fonts (only 20 for testing purposes), compares the family name to the previous on the list (error trapped for the first loop), and pushes the family name (if it doesn't match the previous) into an array which will be used in the dialog box. With the two alerts at the bottom (for troubleshooting), I expect the alerts to show the same family name. For the first three fonts they do, but after that the array value is "undefined."

Questions:
1) Any speculation on why this behavior is happening (it isn't truetype versus opentype)?
2) Is there a better way to get the list of font families without duplicates??
2) Is an array the best way to populate a dropdown list in a JS dialog box??? [this will be my first dialog with a dropdown, the others have user-typed values]

When it reaches the ninth font in the list, the above script starts writing undefined, but when tested manually, as below, it works fine. Hmmm.

tried replacing nameArray.push(familyName); with nameArray.splice(i,0,familyName); bad behavior remains
Revit :: How To Align Nested Family To Reference Line In Host Family To Rotates Around A Certain Point
Jan 29, 2014I'm trying to align a nested family to a reference line in my host family so that it rotates around a certain point.
I've created the reference line in my host family, locked the end point to two reference planes and then gave an angular parameter to the angle between the ref. line and the ref. plane.
I then inserted the nested family and aligned it to the ref. line. The problem is that when I flex the angle, i get a "Constraints not satisfied" error..
What could be wrong?
I'm using a generic face based family for both host and nested families...

Sep 24, 2013After opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.

May 30, 2012I had posted in another thread about wanting to clean up a signature and make it look more font like. I tried that and it seemed to be pretty difficult due to the amount of random in a hand written signature.
So I think I'd like to approach this from the other direction. I have a font I like but I don't want it to look like the font (way too common). Is there a way to alter the font (not the entire font set or even to create a new font but just for a one word Logo)?
I'd ideally like to connect two of the letters and also modify the shapes of the letters just a bit.

1) i have to deal with images of various sizes. What do I need to do to be able to have everyone's head cut out in an exact circle such that I can move them all around and they are the same size? I tried using the marquee tool but it made a different circle each time, more of an ellipse (hence the name of the tool I suppose).
2) does anyone know where I can get a picture of a tree that I can attach everyone's head to? how do I use that as my background? is that the same as adding a layer and having it as the bottom layer?

Apr 2, 2012I use CS4 on the Mac. I'm looking for an efficient solution for digitizing family photo albums. I know how to scan and fix the scanned image, if necessary. I know how to organize photos in Adobe Bridge. What I'm clear on is how to create captions for the photos that will will be permanently linked to the photo files and can be output for on-screen or print albums / galleries.
Also, what is a good tool for creating output? InDesign is an obvious possibility for print; but I was wondering if there is some sort of plug-in or companion product for PS designed specifically for generating albums and slideshows.
