Windows XP Photoshop CS4
PS CS5 had icons in the top menu bar where the "Arrange Documents" icons were located. Now I can only find them in the Window drop down list. Are they still available in CS6? It was nice not having to find them in the "Window" drop down list.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is actually a sub-thread of this one:
Mylenium, "Initial issues with PS CS4 Extended Windows XP Pro." #1, 16 Oct 2008 8:52 pm
Since several users, including me, have reported that the top part of the Arrange Documents menu is blank in PS CS 4, I thought it would be helpful to those doing a search on the problem.
As seen in the other thread, removing the NIK plugins fixed at least one user's problem. In my case, it was removing the PhotoKit module from the Automate directory. I've been in touch with Pixel Genius Support about the PhotoKit problem, and they are having their engineer look into it.
Bottom line, it seems that if you're having this problem you might want to start by removing plugins to see if that cures it.
Why is the Arrange Menu blanked out, when I want to simply adjust the layer of some text I created in Edge as it was thrown to the bottom layer which isn't very handy when I am trying to add it in as new content on the TOP layer.
Â
what is the point to having an Arrange menu if it doesn't even work?
Â
Is there a setting that I can change to enable layer alterations or am I missing something here?
Â
EDIT:As a bit of extra information, I read that you need to edit the layer of items using CSS which if that is true leaves me in the SH## due to the fact that the software I am using creates Inline CSS and how to modify that. I'm using WYSIWYG Website Builder 8.5.
Â
The other thing that is frustrating would be that I have only 2 options... create all my content inside of WWB 8.5 or build it all inside of Edge.
Â
Unfortunately, if I want to add new items to my website, I would have to overwrite the old HTML when I export out of WWB which will erase all the content from inside of Edge... so the only choice I really have is to add content via Edge to ensure I don't lose all of my hard work setting up animations etc in the site.
Â
Problem is, for this to work out, all content needs to be added in Edge, not just the fancy stuff as it seems to be layer locked... Really dissapointed if there is nothing Edge can do to enable layer modification... that will make it far less valuable to people such as myself who do not have the timeframe to learn how to modify inline css or any css for that matter. (way I see it is that if you have to get in and work with code, then this type of "designer friendly" software hasn't really performed it's role properly)
Â
Sure this will shock the majority of purist web builders and professionals who love to work with code day in day out notebook++ is their friend, but why can't things be done differently, does the code have to look all neat and tidy so long as it works?
Â
EDIT 2:all elements in the file are built and added outside of EDGE except for the most recent text field. This text field was thrown somewhere in between several of the layers on the website and needs to be adjusted. Also, layers created inside of WWB need to be adjusted outside of the software if possible to avoid re-exporting and the consequential wiping of the Index.html page I am adding animations to.
If you have created a sub assembly and inserted it into an upper level assemby, is there a way to bust up the sub assembly at that level?
The issue arising is the individual components need to be called out on the upper level, but in the drawing are all showing up as the same balloon.
if you have used CS6 you may have noticed the Applications bar was removed. According to Adobe it was removed to make more vertical "real estate" for the workspace which makes no sense. When maximized it uses zero additional vertical space but that's another argument.
As part of the Applications bar, there was a drop down menu for a few preset zoom levels. 25, 50, 100 and 200. I got addicted to using this drop down for the work I do in PS and specifically 100 and 200% as I'm also zoomed in make minor changes and I want to jump to 100 or 200% to see what the changes look like at size or zoomed out.
drop down menu like that for zoom in CS6? I know the original shortcut ctrl-1 was for actual pixels but I have that and all the other keys close to the left ctrl/shift/alt used for other functions. I rarely take my right hand off the mouse as I work and that was the best way for me to zoom quick to 100%.
I've got a question that I'm sure has a very simple solution but I can't find it even though I've searched all over the place. Is there a way to change the default zoom level when Photoshop opens an image? I'm using CS2 on OSX (though the screenshots I've included to illustrate what I'm asking are from Win XP).
View 3 Replies View RelatedNow that the application bar has been dropped from CS6, the zoom level feedback is also gone in full screen mode. It would be nice to see zoom level feedback similar to how Pixelmator displays the level with each zoom in or out in the center of the frame.
Â
The UI device is similar to the feedback that the new crop tool displays to show the changing image size.
My 2 questions are:
1. What did I do wrong sofar?
2. How do I get my 3 graphics to function as menu/navigation?
When I Zoom in my drawing on a specific area and press F3 to come to the previous zoom level it doesn't happen. inspite of this drawing will zoom out with another sequence.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBeen using Xara Xtreme Pro 5 for several years and this is an issue that happens now. Parts of lines disappear in a drawing at different zoom levels. The drawing might look perfect at one zoom level, but if I zoom in from say 100% to 500% parts of lines disappear from the drawing. The fix is usually having to click on the line or zoom to a different %. I have attached a picture to show the issue. The hat on the left shows the missing part of the line (circled in red), and the hat on the right shows how the line actually is.
If this was happening in a pc game I would describe it as clipping. I'm on a Pentium 4 PC 3 GHz, Win XP SP 3 2 gigs of RAM. GeForce 6200 if this comes into play .
I'd like it, if an image is re-sized to the same percentage as the current zoom level, afterward the zoom is automatically switched to 100%
Â
Typically, if I have an image too big for it's intended use, I'd adjust the zoom until I get it to appear the right size, then resize it to the zoom level.  (I imagine many people do the same thing).  However, after resizing, the view of the image is really tiny, since the old zoom level is now being applied to the smaller image.
A friend of mine gave me an old photo of his to touch up - unfortunately he saved it as a gif and doesn't have the original and so some colour info has been lose. Is there a good way to regain/calculate that lost colour information? I'm using Adobe CS,
View 8 Replies View RelatedI had to uninstall X6 for a while until some other issues are fixed, but that's another story. Once I did a repair on X5 and uninstalled the shell extension and reinstalled the X5 version, then ran the SP3 update, I have file icons back in the file open dialog, but with the preview pane active, I still get "This file can't be previewed" instead of the multi-page preview it should have for newer files and the first page preview for older files. I've associated draw files with X5, and everything else works fine, except the file preview.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to adjust the noise level with the level tool but its not working. I move the arrows every which way see that it changes. I get it to were i want it them press ok and it only changes a little bit.
It become what it was in the preview. The level tool works when I add it as a new adjustment layer but I don't want like that I want to be able to copy the new level of noise I just made and can't if I add new adjustment. what should I do to fix this? O and this is the trial version and It wasn't working earlier with lots of other tool but i uninstalled it and now they are working except the level tool how I want it to.
I am having a little trouble with some doors showing up on the level 1 door schedule that are actually on level 2. They are curtain wall doors.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe underlay does not show up for Level 1 when I am on Level 2, but it does show up for Level 2 when I am on Level 1. the underlay option is on for Level 1, so I'm not sure why it's not showing up. I am using Revit 2014.
View 1 Replies View RelatedTake 10-20 square pictures and arrange them in a pinwheel shape.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis feature sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. For instance I just opened two photos and tried to use Arrange Docs clicking on the side by side choice. Nothing happens. Tried this several times.
Then I hit F three times to cycle through and get back to normal view.
Tried Arrange Docs side by side once again and it worked.
Shut down PS Cs4 and opened it again and brought in the same two pictures and Arrange worked right away.
But I know it will fail again as it has on many occasions in the last few days. I can't predict when it will work.
My video card does not support GPU. It's an Invidia GSX5500. Could that be the reason?
One new feature in CS4 is 'arrange documents' and the drop down options.
This works great. However when I close the open files and open some more
CS4 has lost the settings I had. Is there somewhere to make it default to
'my' settings - always do the same as last settings. For example 'float all in windows' would be the default to always open new files instead of tabbed always opening first.
I recently got CS4 version of Photoshop and now I'm having a weird problem with the "Arrange Documents" navigation. When I installed PS the dropdown menu worked like it should, but suddenly without any warning it started to like this:As you can see it doesn't show any icons on the menu.. just blank dropdown. I works correctly though f.ex.
I can choose any option I want, but it's so frustrating trying to navigate as "blind". I've tried looking through the preferences about interface and so on, but haven't found help from there. Also I tried uninstalling and re-installing the hole software again. The result was that when I opened PS for the first time after re-installation it worked like it should be (I could see all the option like I should), but as I turned off the computer and opened it the next day the situation was this problem again.
Say I have an image where I'm attempting to extract a mask from and I've found that one of the channels will serve as a good starting point. Further suppose that I have found that I want to increase the luminance level of pixels in the range of 60 - 65 by 10 luminance levels each:
Â
i.e. all pixels with luminance values of 60,61,62,63,64,65 would, after the operation have luminance values of 70,71,72,73,74,75. Is such a thing possible with Photoshop?
Just installed the CS 6 of Photoshop on my Windows 7 PC.
Â
It seems, that the small icon for arranging like two or more open windows (files) have been disappeared in CS 6. I only can arrange them via the drop down "Windows" which I think is one click to much, as I use this feature very often. Is this gone for good or is there a way to bring this icon back?

This is CS 6:

I'm using CS6 and CC. I seem to need to switch to ARRANGE- 2-UP VERTICAL, a lot to compare 2 images. Is there an easy way to switch back and forth without going to the menus? Can I make an F-key?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI cannot arrange panels as in the attached image/
Â
I want to add some panel icons along the left edge of larger panels.
Â
Use iMac, 10.8.3, PS 13.1.2. Feel dumb. Want to make a column of larger icons as on left of this image.
I use Photoshop CS2 to create Designs for webpages. These designs have pixel-exact elements, e.g. a 1-pixel-line from top to bottom.
Now when I zoom in (>100, then I have sort of anti-alias, so that the 1-pixel-line isn't only one blue anymore, but it has different blue tones. I guess for photo manipulations etc. this anti-aliasing zoom is great, but for webdesign it sucks because I don't know if only the zoom make the line "corrupt" or if it really is corrupt.
Is there a way to change this zoom?
How can I get "Arrange - Float all in window: " to be the default?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to arrange 6 images in 2 x 3 order. I have an older version 6.0 and I am not aware that it is posible to script/macro to do this autamatically. Is it posible in some newest version?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith either Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop CC, opening an unadjusted image of a building and applying Image/Duplicate produces an exact duplicate of the image. If arranging the images using Window/Arrange/Tile All Vertically (or Window/Arrange/2-up Vetical) one of the images will present with a perspective correction. Whichever image that was selected when Arrange was applied receives the perspective correction.
