In an assembly, you can type in offset values for a part or assembly via the properties occurrence tab. Why is the x y and z offset angle entries grayed out? Is there any time that these could be used?

I can do a full border like that as a transparent png file. However if the shot is tight in and has people from edge to edge, the border/watermark cuts them off. Is there a way to add a watermark/border as the background and resize and rotate an image (on a slant) to fit the middle area.

I created two expressions:Â IF(OFFSET-TRUNC(OFFSET)=0,.1/12,.00000001/12)
and this one:Â IF(OFFSET-TRUNC(OFFSET)!=0,.1/12,.00000001/12)
I then created two offset components, one called truncated, and one called full, and assigned the heights to match the expressions.Â
I have attached the file, the style is ACHD-Sta Off-Rt [copy]

I am using MAYA 2012 on Windows 7. When I import audio (.WAV) it works fine, but if I offset it to a later frame the waveform moves to the right frame but when scrubbing the audio stays at 0. Making if very difficult to lip-sync. I have tried re-caching, playing the scene all the way through and all other options I have seen online.

I was using 2007 and I had an add on command the would rotate an object using a base point and picking the two lines that make up the angle, and it would match the angle you wanted. The obvious and calculated rotation angle would be 23d27'34" but when I rotate the line by the calculated angle it doesn't rotate to the right angle. It's off by 0d11'10"!? When I draw a line by bearing at N12d52'18" E and inquiry the angle between the property line and the drawn line the angle difference is in fact 23d27'34".

how to convert "real world" angles of elliptical arcs into those shown in a dxf file?
Say that I have drawn an elliptical arc with its start angle on 210 degrees and an end angle of 324 degrees. The values in a DXF file, for an elliptical arc, have something to do with the contant "PI" (3.14159). I know that a full circle is 2*Pi but how to do this with elliptical arcs!!
I need a pit configuration, and I use the offset command to offset a base polyline to first 10 m and then 3 and so on.. is there a way to do this in an automatically way, that you can choose the lenght of the offset for each "offset" (i.e. 1st 10 m, 2nd 3, 3rd 10 m, 4th 3 m, and so on. I am actually using civil 3D.

I select the gradient with a rectangular marquee size of 7x25 px
Edit > Define Pattern
I create a new layer
bring up a new rectangular marquee size of 7x25 px
select 'Paint Bucket Tool'
change 'Fill' to 'Pattern'
select the pattern I just created
then click inside of Marquee
The pattern is there, but it is offset vertically and repeating. The pattern looks fine in the Pattern select dropdown window..
Cintiq Companion's Pen is offset in Photoshop only, it works great in Sketchbook Pro and MS Paint, but as soon as you open and click in Photoshops window it becomes offset. Tried in CS5 and CC is there any way to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a Wacom Intuos4 tablet onto my computer and I now seem to have a problem where the centre of the mark made by a brush is lower than than the centre of the brush cursor.
In other words, the physical mark made by the brush seems to be offset on the y-axis, making it difficult to gauge where to place the brush when drawing.
I'm a novice to tablets, and not particularly adept at photoshop. The only things I changed as far as I know were the Shape Dynamics and Other Dynamics in the brush settings, to set up the tablet, and these have no effect on it when I restore them to their original settings.
Also, it seems to be an intermittent problem, only occuring on some documents.
I have elements 5. I know its old but I hardly use it so im not ready to upgrade now. Im trying to use offset. It brings up needing to simplfiy so I do but once I get in to the area to change the numbers it freezes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using the offset filter for years to create seamless patterns with predictable results - I choose "Wrap around" and when I enter the distance the parts of the image that go off one side show up on the opposite side. Now, with CS6, sometimes it works as expected and sometimes parts of the image go missing when (if) it shows up on the other side. I've discovered that when this happens if I go to Image - reveal all that often times those lost pixels are outside of the viewable canvas. However, sometimes reveal all doesn't show anything new and the pixels have just been lost.I know there are not extra pixels outside the canvas are before I run the filter so I don't understand how this is happening.
I have found is to select all and crop the image between every offset. Sometimes I'm offsetting 20-30 layers in a row (because you can't apply a filter to multiple layers at once, so annoying). Otherwise, if I'm not careful after I've offset everything I go to check the pattern and realize i lost parts of my image.
I find one of the changes to the interface quite unfriendly for pen/tablet use. The drop-down menus for File, Edit, Image, and Layer are offset to the right of each menu item's live area. That means having to be extra careful when moving the cursor down the list so the menu doesn't accidentally snap closed. The remaining drop down menus are flush right with the item's live area, so they don't present the same problem.
I killed the annoying tabs feature and that doesn't affect the offset pull-downs. Illustrator has the same behavior, so I assume the offset behavior is consistenet through the CS4 applications. Nope. Bridge CS4 doesn't have the offset. Nor does Acrobat Pro.
It's nice that in an era of multiple and large displays that Adobe's interface designers were inspired to try and free up interface workspace. But a little interface design detail like this offset is a daily aggravation that doesn't have any benefit that I can discern.
I just upgraded to cs6 and have found everything to be great except for an offset problem I'm having with the artisan brushes like Round Point Stiff. In CS5 the paint position (precise point) was in the middle of the brush tip icon.. now it's off to the opposite side of the brush icon. See image example.
Â
I've tried to change my brush tip settings and Ive tried to make do with just using the precise icon instead but not knowing the rotation and angle of the brush witht he visual icon is very hard to pinpoint, especially if the stroke happens off to the left of my precise cursor.

In CS5
Â
Is there something I need to enable on my end or is this working as intended? Is there a way I can just hack it on m y end to revert it back to the way cs5 (and the rest of the brushes in the brush folder) work?
I like to make drop shadows under our products on our brochures. While they look great on screen, they suffer from banding on the printed pieces via offset printing. Here's how I make them now in CS6:
Â
Create a layer under the main image. On this layer use Rectangle Marquee tool to create box in location of desired shadow.Hit Shift + F5 and Fill with Black.Deselect the black filled box.Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and select a radius of 40-80 depending on the size of the image.Go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur and select a distance of 125 -250 depending on the size of the image. Also select appropriate angle to match image.Â
I've talked to my printer and they said this is fine but they also said to make sure I'm filling the box with only K and not RGB (which I am) and to adjust opacity so it's below 25%. The problem is when I set the opacity of the shadow layer to 25%, the shadows are barely visible. This is not what I want. I want a nice dark shadow under the main portion of the product and the fading out to nothing. The way I do it now looks great on screen so how do I get it to look great on paper?
When I go to apply a shadow, I don't have the option to angle the shadow?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI manage a screen printing company. I print my transparencies out of Photoshop in CS6. Each design is in grayscale with spot colors. Each color has it's own channel and the film is printed using the channels. In my older version of Photoshop when you go to Print using print options box, there was a place where you could set the frequency (lines per inch) and the angles. On the latest version I cannot find anywhere to make the adjustments to get the proper dot size.

View 4 Replies View Relatedfor one particular design, I've been trying to make a curve like this as a background for some white text: but, as you can see, the end result (bottom curve only) is rather pixely, I know this is from the angle of the curved space being so close to flat that a lot of pixels are stretched out over the neighbouring ones. Is there a good technique that I can use to avoid the pixelish look?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen using the pen tool a person can create a line by eyeballing its angle. But if you hold down Shift while creating a line the program has default angle settings. I was hoping there are way to create setting profiles, or just plain changing the default setting of the Shift/snap-to option for the pen tool. I am working on HUD layouts and designs and am finding it difficult to concistantly get the angle I need. Eyeballing resaults in varying angles (barely, but I can notice it), but the Shift/snap-to angles are too sharp.
