Photoshop :: How To Set The Frequency And Angle
Nov 1, 2012
I manage a screen printing company. I print my transparencies out of Photoshop in CS6. Each design is in grayscale with spot colors. Each color has it's own channel and the film is printed using the channels. In my older version of Photoshop when you go to Print using print options box, there was a place where you could set the frequency (lines per inch) and the angles. On the latest version I cannot find anywhere to make the adjustments to get the proper dot size.

There's some image processing commands in photoshop, like high pass and blur (i.e. low pass). I want more. Is there a way to achieve frequency doubling, or better yet, frequency x N where N is any number the user can specify?
Â
This may be useful for making coarse skin texture look finer. It can be implemented by diving the selected area into small squares, and then shrink each squares to half their original sizes. This would make the details look finer grain (hence frequency doubling). It would open up gaps between the squares, which can be filled in by taking additional samples and shrinking them to fill the gaps. This is similar to frequency doubling in audio processing.

Does photoshop offer frequency domain analysis of an image?
Â
The standard way to remove noise, i.e. background spots, is do spectrum analysis and remove those high-frenquency signal. Is photoshop image-> adjustment -> level a frequency analysis?

I am doing an eigen frequency analysis of a structure in the range of 0 to 1500 Hz. For my structure I am getting about 6 modes as expected.Â
For the final results I will mass normalize to convert to an energy based on the relative "displacements" However, each of the "displacements" for the 6 eigenfrequencies are the same?
I know this can not be right as it would mean that all have the same energy which is impossible.

I have a road corridor and need to create sample lines at a 50m interval, as well as at every horizontal and vertical turning point. While the 50m stations and the horizontal turning points are easy to add (using the alignment), I can't seem to find where/how to add the vertical points (they have to be extracted from the profile).
Running the Feature Line Report I noticed the horizontal turning points are not used in the report: it only reports the 50m stations (so I guess the same will happen to the vertical points?).
how to add the vertical turning points to the sample line group and how to include both horizontal and vertical points in the Feature Line Report.

I created a simple corridor for a road widening. I want to plot some drawings but I do not want the frequency lines to plot. I have frozen the layers containing these lines. I have also set the layers to not plot in the layer properties manager. The frequency lines still plot. I've obviously missed something. What do I need to do to stop the frequency lines from plotting?

I am using the COGO Points from Corridor command but would like to limit the freqency of the created points to only every 50 ft (half station) or so. Â Is there a command I can change to make this happen ?? Â
I've checked the CreatePointsFromCorridor command setting and it doesn't seem to be there...

I am using the default styles that came with C3D 2011. How can I change the colors of the corridor "frequency" lines. The lines I am referring to are those that are from the last sub assembly to the daylight line. This is prior to making any section views or surfaces. The colors have to be determined somewhere within the corridor styles I think, but I can't find where.

Is there a shortcut to draw a 45 or 90 degree angle from a drawn line on an angle using the pen tool? ie. Rather than just from the x and y axis.

Is there a quick way to rotate an object to match an angle without knowing what the angle is? I am using AutoCAD 2011 now. I was using 2007 and I had an add on command the would rotate an object using a base point and picking the two lines that make up the angle, and it would match the angle you wanted. I can not get that command to load in 2011.

I have a property line that is N 36d19'52" E but needs to be N 12d52'18" E. The obvious and calculated rotation angle would be 23d27'34" but when I rotate the line by the calculated angle it doesn't rotate to the right angle. It's off by 0d11'10"!? When I draw a line by bearing at N12d52'18" E and inquiry the angle between the property line and the drawn line the angle difference is in fact 23d27'34".

Let's say I am inserting a square block into a dwg and want to get it parallel to an existing angled line. Do I have to read the angle of the line and insert the block to that angle or is there a quicker way?

Can that also be done in an assembly?

how to convert "real world" angles of elliptical arcs into those shown in a dxf file?
Say that I have drawn an elliptical arc with its start angle on 210 degrees and an end angle of 324 degrees. The values in a DXF file, for an elliptical arc, have something to do with the contant "PI" (3.14159). I know that a full circle is 2*Pi but how to do this with elliptical arcs!!

I often encounter the low motion frequency when playing back "Picture in Picture" scene (which I mean the pictures aren't moving smoothly whenever using that feature) after I render my video into various formats, such as WMV HD PAL. Is there any way to increase its smoothness?
Am using VS Pro X5, Service pack 1

My distance is not horz., so I want to enter the Vertial angle and the slope-distance, in LLD the command was AD VD.
So how do you do this in Civil 3D 2012.

for one particular design, I've been trying to make a curve like this as a background for some white text: but, as you can see, the end result (bottom curve only) is rather pixely, I know this is from the angle of the curved space being so close to flat that a lot of pixels are stretched out over the neighbouring ones. Is there a good technique that I can use to avoid the pixelish look?

I found a wheel that I like, and almost got it to the right angle of the picture of the car I have, but if only I could angle it just a tiny bit it would fit perfect. But, I can't figure out how to angle it. I have been using CTRL + T when all the handles come up to transform it but I can't find one to angle it.

When using the pen tool a person can create a line by eyeballing its angle. But if you hold down Shift while creating a line the program has default angle settings. I was hoping there are way to create setting profiles, or just plain changing the default setting of the Shift/snap-to option for the pen tool. I am working on HUD layouts and designs and am finding it difficult to concistantly get the angle I need. Eyeballing resaults in varying angles (barely, but I can notice it), but the Shift/snap-to angles are too sharp.

When I try to use "Auto" correction in the new Adaptive Wide Angle filter, it pops up with "No matching lens profile found". I searched for information and was directed to go to the Lens Correction filter. I pressed the "Search Online" button. The first time it comes back with "Connection timeout", but the second time it says "No online profiles found". Come on, really?!
Â
ACR has my lens profile (Canon 24-105 f/4 IS), why can't PS CS6 find it? Is there a workaround? I'd really like to use the Adaptive Wide Angle filter.

I have all these new brushes, but none start out with "Angle Jitter" on... so, every last one of them sprays all these identical-looking blobs of paint. Is there a way to force all new brushes to have Angle Jitter turned on, or is this up to the brush creators? (I have like 6 brush packs, and they're all like this.
I assumed the brush creators maybe couldn't control any detailed settings, because all the brushes are rigged pretty much the same... that is, not rigged.)
Â
(btw, I'm using these brushes on Photoshop CS5 and CS6 beta.)

here are my two pictures i have photoshopped, its actually of my car parked. But i added motion blur to the background and then a radial blur to the wheels, however, the radial blur is flat and see how my wheels are at an angle, is there any way of getting the radial blur to be at an angle so that it matches my wheels. I think the first wheel looks good in both shots but the back wheel does not. Thats because of the angle.....

My neighbor brought a problem to me which I could not solve. He is running Photoshop CS3 10.0.1 on XPSP2. When he crops something at an angle, the resultant image is way off -- it is not what is within the crop mark. Any idea what is happening here?
I have CS2 and it works fine for me.
