Photoshop :: Way To Get A Clean Angle On A Shape?
Dec 18, 2007way to get a clean angle on a shape? I can never get a straight edge with the line tool or the lasso tool. Is there a better way to do it that I'm just not seeing?

Photoshop :: Convert Font / Shape From CS6 Into Clean Vector?
Sep 12, 2012I try and try to get how vector points work... within Illustrator and within the pen tool in Photoshop and just cannot get to grips with it. So when i create a logo I tend to start my work in photoshop where generally i will end up with a font and a shape.
Now i understand the basics, such as not resizing the shapes / fonts if they are rasterized etc and generally keeping things crisp looking within photoshop but my problem comes when trying to turn my reletivly simple font and shape into a vector based image so that it can be scaled up and down
My logos look immaculate when viewed at 100% in photoshop, but as soon as i create a work path from the selection it never makes a crisp path, with all the correct curves and straight edges that i expect to see.
Up till now, i always assumed it was just the original fonts that i use and they just arent created completly smooth. But now my work path is really wonky. Whether i use a tolerence of 0.5 or not.. it just doesnt hug my lettering at all. The marching ants i see are even better placed than the work path.
Ps. I use CS6

I was using 2007 and I had an add on command the would rotate an object using a base point and picking the two lines that make up the angle, and it would match the angle you wanted. The obvious and calculated rotation angle would be 23d27'34" but when I rotate the line by the calculated angle it doesn't rotate to the right angle. It's off by 0d11'10"!? When I draw a line by bearing at N12d52'18" E and inquiry the angle between the property line and the drawn line the angle difference is in fact 23d27'34".

Aug 8, 2006I have noticed with PS CS2 that when I make an image with the gradient tool that it leaves horizontal lines on the image.
If I'm working with the gradient tool it does not leave a clean image. There are always some vertical, horizontal, or angulared lines ,,,or even circular lines that I don't want in my images.
When I make the images in CS2 and view them, it's fine. But after I save it and open it up in something else or CS2 later, the lines appear on the image.
How do I make an image so that it does not have the horizontal marks or lines in it.

Jul 17, 2006After using the Filter Extract and Magic Lassoo methods to erase a background of say a model, I usually end up with lots of artefacts.
I then use the backgound erase to remove these. But I find it very time consuming as they do not show up that well on the standard grey checkerboard background.

Sep 25, 2012In Photoshop CS6, when you have a shape layer with a layer mask, and the two are not linked together, and the layer mask is selected, you should be able to scale the layer mask independently of the shape. What actually happens is the shape gets scaled and the layer mask stays untouched. In fact, even if you option-click on the layer mask to show the mask by itself, and then try to scale it, you still end up scaling the shape instead of the mask. Even if you go as far as to make a pixel selection of the layer mask and attempt to scale the pixels, the shape still gets scaled and the layer mask still stays put! Unbelievable!
This works correctly in CS4, but not in CS6 (don't know about CS5).

I am at a stage when i need to clean up layer edges (all the artwork is bitmap and created in Photoshop with brushes) I had tried zooming and rubbing out , any noticeable debris around the artwork, but i watched a tutorial where a person set up a function key which displayed a red border around the opaque parts of the layer, which is just what i need, for efficient clean-up.
Unfortunately, it wasn't explained in the tutorial how it was done. I have searched and searched, but i don't even know what the action is called in Photoshop that does that.

Jul 20, 2013I am on a Mac OS 10.5.8 with Adobe CS2, Acrobat 7.0 Professional, and Illustrator and Bridge.
I have a bunch of print-outs of old documents that came from a microfilm copy. I need to include them in a report, so I need to scan them in. I have tinkered with various settings (100 dpi - 300 dpi) and of course I would like to keep them small sized. At 300, one came in at 10 MB which is absurd.
My second problem is that part of the print-outs are really difficult to read--it's usually one section that has a lot of mid-tones. I can use levels and curves somewhat, but they seem to affect the whole document.
