View 9 Replies View RelatedI saw an image a while ago, but I cant find it.
Basically is was a mirror, made in photoshop, which appeared to have been in a bathroom with a hot shower running. Then someone had 'engraved' into the mist some words.
I was wondering how to do this. I figure the mist is some sort of cloud filter, but thats it, I cant make the mirror even.
For most of our product photos, I create a copy of the image, flip it vertically, fade it out, and then move it down to create a mirror image effect. Simple enough. But this one I'm having a problem. The product has 4 legs, and from this view, the back 2 legs are shorter. When I do my normal steps that I listed, I get similar to what you see below. I know all about drawing a marquee around part of the reflection, hitting Ctrl+T and then holding down Ctrl+Shift to skew just what's in the marquee. I've done this technique a lot, but it does not work for this particular image. What do I have to do to get the reflection of the back legs to line up with the actual back legs in the image?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using photshop cs5 more and more for illustration since I have found that with tweeking the brush pallet - I can simulate almost any type of art medium for illustration- inclding straight line for architectural drawings, pencil sketch lines, inked lines and various painting looks.... and the rotate canvas feature is fantastic for draftmanship.... but one feature that has eluded me is the ability to create mirror imagery on the fly- I know i can do a copy-paste-(edit-image rotate-flip horizontal) after creating half an image or I could possibly set up an action to do this to a selection in one touch- but I have not seen an on the fly feature to accomplish this in real time as you are placing down marks.. similar to sketch book pro and alchemy--- the ability to mirror an image as you are creating is essential for creativity and is very useful in creating imagery for video game modeling ....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to mirror a camera (it's a camera with aim). I can't move my geometry or mirror that, so I need to figure out if I can mirror the camera instead . Right now the aim is in the center of my object, and the camera is looking at the object from a front left 3/4 view.
I need it to be looking at the front right 3/4 view. I've tried scaling with a -1 but that didn't flip it, as it normally does the geometry.
In the weldment of a crane boom i have different parts. Some are identical, but (1:1) mirrored.ipt. Then I merge them in the BOM in order to set the qty on "2" in the partslist.
Here the error occurs: in the "mass" field in the parts list says "varies".
This keeps me from generating a good partslist and the total mass of the weldment maybe messed up. I personally think it has something to do with the fact that the parts are sheetmetals. i.e when I look atthe Physical properties of the folded / unfolded (of the SAME .ipt) they differ in the same way i see in the BOM.
I use rhino 3d for a lot of my modeling and just recently been exploring 3ds max 2011, and I really like the mirror command in rhino because I can just click and mirror my object across a grid line, however in 3ds max the modifier is much more difficult to use in my opinion. If their are any former rhino users in the Area. way of using the mirror modifier to simulate the Rhino mirror command or even suggest another modifier that would preform in a similar manner as in rhino.
