Photoshop :: Does CS5 Have Mirror Function Similar To Sketch Book Pro And Alchemy
Mar 27, 2012
I am using photshop cs5 more and more for illustration since I have found that with tweeking the brush pallet - I can simulate almost any type of art medium for illustration- inclding straight line for architectural drawings, pencil sketch lines, inked lines and various painting looks.... and the rotate canvas feature is fantastic for draftmanship.... but one feature that has eluded me is the ability to create mirror imagery on the fly- I know i can do a copy-paste-(edit-image rotate-flip horizontal) after creating half an image or I could possibly set up an action to do this to a selection in one touch- but I have not seen an on the fly feature to accomplish this in real time as you are placing down marks.. similar to sketch book pro and alchemy--- the ability to mirror an image as you are creating is essential for creativity and is very useful in creating imagery for video game modeling ....
am trying to select between red and pink...on a graded level, which makes it harder. I am using the select tool and select similar in order to do so...I was wondering if their was a way to limit the particle size (object total pixzel area) that photshop considers when selecting similar things.
For example, like I stated above, I am selecting for red objects against pink objects...and the red objects are round, so is there a way to limit selection to objects red and have a objective radius of a few pixels?
I'm new to Gimp and Ive been told that Gimp has a function similar to Alien Skin Smart Fill. Is this correct and if so where do I find it and what is it called on Gimp
Is it possible to obtain a drawing tablet which can be taken out, away from the computer and be used like a sketch-book when out and about? Then, after coming home with this drawing tablet, connect it into the computer and upload all the sketches you've done when out?
I presently use a Wacom Bamboo which connects into my laptop, but I sometimes would like to just take the 'Bamboo' out - draw on it like an electronic sketchbook - come home and put all my sketches into the computer for further work.
How to compare two similar solid model and found where its differetiate is, and how to compare two similar drawing let say rev.1 to rev.2 and found where its differentiate is?
I am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise. I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom. I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book. I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book. I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.
I am trying to up load a 40 page 12" x 12" photo book to Blurb from the book module in Lightroom 4.2. It renders the pages and then having rendered the cover gets stuck, about 50% to 60% through the process. None of the photographs are starred or colour coded. I have uploaded successfully from this iMac in the last few weeks.
I purchased Lightroom 5 and am creating a photo book through Blurb. I accidently erased 38 pages, so after I re-created them, I clicked on Create Saved Book, which put it in Collections. Now I am trying to work on the book again, and can open it, but when I go to the Library of photos, Lightroom automatically repopulates a new book with all the photos in that file and won't let me put them in the book I saved. How can I get this partially finished book so that I can use it?
I'm trying to build a command to replace AutoCAD's "DI" command, to give distance and delta x, y, and z values in decimal and imperial, and keep the angles in XY plane and out of XY plane.
I work in Sketch-Up a lot creating urban streetscapes and such as I am the graphics person at a community planning consulting firm. Sketch-Up is great for quickly drawing and creating 3D models of screens; however, it is not good for producing a great looking final image to show to a client. What I want to do is export a 2D graphic from Sketch-Up and make it look like it was hand drawn. I am semi-proficient in Photoshop, meaning I can follow a tutorial and be able to tweak and apply what I learned to fit my needs but I can't seem to find something that gives me what exactly what I'm looking for. I've uploaded an image that represents the style I am looking for. This one was done by hand on tracing paper. I can't draw by hand to save my life so I want to create the model in Sketch-Up, export the screen as a JPEG, load into Photoshop and process to make it look like it was done by hand.
I'm trying to be able to have a function run another function with the secondary function being passed as an argument to the first. I'm trying to create a recursive function and the recursive part works great. I just need to be able to have the recursive function run other functions to actually do stuff.
Here is something I found that should do what I need, mainly run a function from a function name in a variable.
Sub test() Dim ftnName As String Dim argument As String Dim result As String ftnName = "myFunction" argument = "cat" result = Application.Run(ftnName, argument) MsgBox resultEnd SubFunction myFunction(inString As String) As String myFunction = inString & " has " & Len(inString) & " letters."End Function
However I get the error "object required" on the "result = Application.Run(ftnName, argument)" line. So I'm guessing the Inventor VBA doesn't like this method of doing this. I'm just hoping there is a way to do this or this function will be useless or reduced to hardcoding functions which still defeats the purpose.
I've created a shared sketch and have used it with various features. Sometime those features are suppressed. The model works fine but the shared sketch generates a sketch doctor error because the feature that created it has been suppressed. Is there anyway to make the sketch suppressed so it doesn't trigger a sketch doctor error? Inventor 2013
How do I duplicate the 2D line work from a part level sketch into a drawing level (overlay) sketch?
I started a simple 2D piping system diagram sketch by opening a new part file and using a sketch to stick draw the system schematic including some annotations. Then I opened a new drawing file and made a base view of the part file to bring a view of the original sketch into the drawing.
I realize now that it would have been much easier to have created the schematic directly in a 2D sketch at the drawing level, which would have made editing the annotations much easier at the drawing level, and there is really no need for the part file to exist. I have no intention of creating a 3D model or "real" part in the .ipt file, was just using it as a jumping off point to sketch.
I was thinking that I could correct my error in judgment by just copying the sketch and pasting it into a new sketch on the drawing, but it doesn't want to work that way. I have tried copying both the whole sketch at the browser level, and the entire sketch contents (all of the lines and annotations) from the opened part sketch, but when I attempt to paste either of those into the drawing, paste does not seem to be an option. I'd rather not have to draw the whole thing again, as in typical fashion, my once simple sketch has grown in proportion and complexity from its simple beginning.
I'm having trouble with constaints, I'd like to constrain my sketch to a point in another sketch on a different plane. Is this posible in Inventor? If so how? If Inventor works differently how would you get a points in one sketch to be linked to points another?
how to process a batch of similar photos with just a few mouse clicks? mainly, "crop", exposure, sharpening....mostly telephoto shots of surfers, where I have the surfer in center, but too far away (crop)....low contrast shots during fog or evening hours (contrast) and other functions on similarly exposed shots....sometimes up to several hundred (3fps motor drive) * my m.o., is to fill up the memory card approx 300 shots...then come home and process each file (the good ones) the files come into my mac mini into "iphotos".can I make them come into "bridge" PS cs4??
Two of mine close friends are going to be wedded at the end of this month and I want to do them a slideshow...as a gift. In some of the images, I want to desaturate certain areas to give more attention to the primary subject of interest.
How do I do that in photoshop?
I achieve that effect the cheesy way: MS Office Picture Manager > Crop> resize to desire result> Print Screen (on the keyboard)> Open Paint> Edit > Paste> Save> use MS Office Picture Manager to crop to desire result.
There are two major problems with that: one, I cant get rid of the "crop frame" from within the image; two, the image quality is decidedly bad.
