View 5 Replies View Relatedi've got a photo with a unique human skin and texture, i think this is a manipulation of a photo by photoshop. i can't understand, what is the most significant differences between this photo and the original photo.( sorry, i don't have the original image..i'm just imaging a general digital photo ).and i think this is not similar to Dragan style, because the skin looks wraped and painted..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a game coder/artist using 3ds Max. To date, I have used very simplistic methods of making character skins. I need to step it up a notch and start making more realistic (human) skin textures for humans models in this game I'm working on.
I have been searching the web for several days on this topic and finding little luck. Here are the problems I am encountering:
1. Most skin tutorials for cgi I've found are for high-res, pre-rendered images in Max or Maya ,and not for games. They use several shaders and bump maps and complex multi-texturing that I cannot use in a game.
2. I found one fairly decent skin making tutorial but it used a clouds effect that really only works for light-skinned characters. I tried to modify for darker skin characters and it looks really bad.
3. In general, I have not found much for this at all on the web.

View 4 Replies View Related I am trying to turn my subjects skin into an almost snow-white without losing any details to his face (like lines, texture).
Now I think this could be accomplished using the "colored eye" technique but I feel like there is another way to do this with all the different tools and effects that would be easier.
I am trying to paint a texture map in detail with Photoshop. the uv map is not ready, or it appears not to be.How do I separate/unwrap these uv's for easy texturing in Photoshop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to selectively extract(apply disp to a mesh) tiles ala cyslice? If not...it would be very useful to have.
In my new little experience with other use of mudbox other that sculpting I still find it somewhat limited compared to cyslice. Also the extraction progress UI is quite buggy to me (at least it looks like it on my machine) as it doesnt update the status...and therefore you would think that the extraction process isnt working, but then, checking the directiory where the files are supposed to be saved, MB is actually doing the job.
And about the transfer detail to a new topology, is it possible to do it selectively? I ve tried to freeze, hide, areas that I dont want to transfer the detail to but nothing..still the whole thing gets transferred.
I occasionally use GIMP to burn-down parts of portraits that compete with the face. For example, bare shoulder, midriff over-light, hands over-lit.
The skin ends up looking greyish, not like less-lit skin. It works not too badly visually, as the emphasis is on the face, but fails on inspection.
I have tried the burn tool and just plain old Brightness, both on a selected area.
For my 3D scene, I have to use a texture file on the floor. If I use the only file, than it looks really boring and below par. What I want is, I want to generate some (around 6-8) texture files within the original texture file - so the colors of all the texture files remain same but only the texture varies.Likewise there are more than 500 texture files and I just can't do them manually. Is there any way out to do this in Photoshop?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I have is an image of cloth, tablecloth to be precise and its all rumpled up...
What I need is to place splats (food stains) all over it, well only one or two... I don't mind if they are separate images or created directly on another layer or whatever is the best way...
The thing i'm stuck with is how to ensure they look like they're really on the cloth and take account of the light, shadow, peaks & troughs the cloth already has in its rumples.
how to realistically add a logo/text to the back of someone's shirt.
[Add the letters HV to the back of this guy's shirt]
I saw on a star trek site some time ago that they had player awards and that thost ribbons had the lines of a ribbon material.
I'm trying to figure out how they did.
I'm looking for a filter to add an cloth/drapery look to pictures. Does anyone know a good filter for that?

I have a lava texture and a ground texture. I'd like to be able to make some cracks on the ground texture that would show through the lava texture below it. Something like a cracked mud look. I would be using this for a game I'm making form some terrain textures. Are there any plugins that would aid in making these transparent cracks and perhaps even add depth to the cracks?
I guess a spider web where the spider was on crack would be something I'm looking for. Similar to the following image:

I am having an issue when trying to simulate cloth. When I simulate the cloth, the dialog box with the simulation comes up and before it finishes simulating one frame it closes. At the bottom of 3ds Max, it says end solve.
It worked on an earlier version of the same file as I was able to simulate 100 frames.
I am running 3ds Max 2010 on Windows Vista.
Below is a picture of my command panel. Why the simulation box only stays open for half a second?
I have a woman with her arms spread and a cloth starts follow a defined path around her and her arms.
Is there any way to do that in max?
i made a clothes hanger, and grouped / assembled the components as one object, in the cloth modifier add object menu, i can't find the hanger, but if i dissembled / ungrouped them to separated parts, it can appear back in the add object.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I tryed to simulate cloth that was created in 3ds max 2012.While in max 2012 it works fine, in 2014 the cloth pops a few centimeters up. No matter what i tried (reset state, erase simulation, delete the cloth modifier and re apply it) the problem persists.
Along with other problems such as geometry being corrupted (in max 2014), crashes when rendering, and wierd viewport problems, max 2014 has to be THE MOST buggy and problematic release of 3ds max I've ever used.
One long, thin plane linked at 90 degrees to a rotating cylinder to roll the plane up.Cylinder is kinematic, plane is mCloth with a single strip of verts connected to cylinder which rotates.
MassFX works. Bake all produces keyframes as a masterpoint controller on the mCloth modifier, BUT not as standard max keyframes in the planes transform controller...making it pretty unusable.Sometimes, bake all will end with an "unknown exception". After that, Max transforms are unstable - Moving an object with mouse is unpredictable until a restart.
Repeatable on both Windows XP and Windows 7 - Max 2013 32 and 64
Other features of MASSFX work eg standard rigid bodies etc - seems to relate only to clothOtherwise, any way of rolling up a cloth ribbon that is FIXED at both ends on to a cylinder, I may offer a prize!
I have two "banners" created from a plane with a cloth modifier on each. One banner is in front of the other. I want the one in front to drop first. After it drops and is waving around a little...setting down...I want the second banner to drop. Because they are close to each other and both waving a bit, they will hit each other.
How can I have both set to be a cloth object and both set to be collision objects to the other? I thought it was one or the other. (In the cloth object properties)

Win 7 64-bit; Dual Xeon E5-2687W @ 3.10 GHz; 64 GB Ram

Is there any way to do collision deform with massfx cloth like you could in reactor? Like in this tutorial: [URL].........
