View 1 RepliesVery large DNG files from the new X100S camera?
I am importing raw files from the X100S, converting them to DNG files, and they come out at around 55Mbytes per picture. When the quicker startup info and the Raw file is included in the DNG file, the size goes up to around 70Mbytes.
Specific environment: OS X latest version 10.8.4, iMac about 3yrs old.
I'm on OSX latest version... 4.4 still will not import Fuji X100S .raf files?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI keep hearing conflicting reports about how Lightroom handles lens corrections for the Fuji X100s. Some say you need to use the X100 profile while others say that Lightroom applies the corrections automatically, behind the scenes, based on info embedded in the raw file itself and that selecting the X100 profile would only "double up" on the corrections. Others have said that there is no X100s profile yet but NOT to use the X100 profile because it might make things worse since the sensor has changed and the new X-Trans sensor and lens combination would likely need different corrections than the old one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a photo in Photoshop (CS5) the photo doesn't display in my window. It shows as if I had opened a new document with the grey and white squares. The thumbnail for the image in the layers palatte shows perfectly. If I click zoom the image will sometimes show, but then if I zoom in again it goes back to the squares or if I zoom out again it goes back to the squares. I've had this version of photoshop for a couple of years and never had a problem until this week. I've checked/run updates for everything I can think of and nothing is working!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am unable to open .raf files created by my new Fujifilm x100s camera. I have PSE 10. According to Help --> Updates, I have the most current versions of everything installed. My ACR Version is 6.7.0.339.
I see references tro Adobe Camera Raw version 7 but it looks like that version is not compatible with PSE10, only PSE11.
Sticking with PSE 10, what is the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw that I can use and that will support opening .raf files from the Fuji x100s? I'm afraid to attempt installation of ACR 7 without assurancesd that it will work with PSE10.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Fuji X100S since last week (after many years of Nikon through D200, D300, D700 and now D800, and also experimenting with Olympus' OM-D and a Sony RX100).
The Fuji makes awesome pictures, super sharp, especially in the center, has fantastic low light performance and since it looks great and is much smaller but still features a view finder I find myself using it much more than the big though excellent D800.
However, in terms of color reproduction (I'm testing this by shooting out of the window and then comparing the results after conversion of the raw images in LR 4.4) I found the color cast of the Fuji images lacking. Whilst the Nikon raw images (either when applying the Adobe Standard or the preferred Neutral in Camera calibration settings) have a balanced green/red tint and a mostly accurate WB in >90% of the images, I find myself correcting almost 100% of the Fuji images by dialing down the red tint and the dialing up the temperature (ie, toward warmer temperatures). Interestingly, while also the JPEGs coming out of the Fuji look the same (ie, have a red tint and cool temperatures) - both raw and JPEG images when viewed on the small LCD on the back of the Fuji have neither red tint nor cool temperatures, they simply look "right" when compared with what I'm seeing when looking out of my window.
how to rectify this for all future imported Fuji raw images? So far, I couldn't find a setting in LR 4.4 that would automatically reduce tint and increase temperature by a set relative amount (e.g., -20% and +20%, respectively).
I'm working on Macs (iMac and Retina Macbook) running 10.8.3

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Fuji XE-1 camera and was pleased to see that this camera is listed as supported in ACR 7.4. However when I installed ACR 7.4 I cold not find the profile for my Fuji XE-1 in either Lightrrom 4 (or 5 Beta) or Photoshop CS6. I can find a profile for my old camera a Fuji X100 but not the new one.. I also use the standard Kit lens with this camera, the 18-55mm OIS F2.8-4 lens and it is not lsted either. Am I doing something wrong as I look for it under camera profiles. Is their a way to load them into ACR from an external website or are they "baked into" ACR 7.4?

After investigating I found this person with the exact same issue: [URL] ....managed to fix the problem by changing the prefrence file as indicated here: Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5
Now I'm trying to import my RAF files (Fuji x100) and I'm getting the exact same issue.
With the release of 4.2 now supporting Fuji X-E1, does this update fixes Fuji X-Pro 1 raw files?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI just unpacked my x-pro1 w/ 35mm lens. I am still reading through the manual and trying to learn the ins and out of this amazing camera. I set up the unit to take raw + L-jpg files. When I tried to import them from the card into LR the program didn't see the files. So I then copied the files to a folder on the desktop and tried again w/ no luck. I finally split the raw files from the jpgs put them in seperate folders and was able to import the jpgs into lightroom. I am storing the raw files in a safe and sound place until Adobe writes the code for the x-pro-1 raw files then I will import them on mass.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEach time I import a batch of RAF files, they import ok into the library, but then one by one they each 'burn out' exposure-wise'
Have I set a preference that would do this on import?
In Development module in LR4.4, viewing a Fuji X100s raw file (converted on import to DNG) I tick the box for "Enable Profile Corrections" under "Lens Corrections," and select "Auto" from the "Setup" menu. I would have thought that LR would pick up the X100s profile, but no, nothing happens. If I choose "Fujifilm" from the "Make" dropdown, I can find the X100 (not X100s) profile manually. The profile's probably pretty similar, but still, I'm wondering why my install of 4.4 doesn't have the X100s profile in place?
While I'm at it, I'll ask this too -- I recently bought the new Nikkor 35mm 1.8G ED (the new full frame 35mm Nikon lens, not the trusty 35mm 1.8DX) and there's no profile for that lens in my LR4.4 either.
Finally, I note that when I choose "Check for Updates" from the "Help" menu in LR, I'm told there are no updates available.
when connecting a Fuji FinePix SL1000 to LR 5.3, I cant see the preview pics of the .raf files. So it's quite hard to figure out which ones have already been imported or are not worth to be imported. When I connect my EOS 6D I can see the Thumbnails of the .cr2 files. Is there anything that needs to be configured in order to show the previews?

This does not happen if I set LR to use the 2002 engine. Of Course this engine shows less details and more color noise. Is there any way I can send the sample RAF file so that an engineer so that he can have a look at it?
