i am using photoshop CS. Whenever i try to use a filter, only about 3/4 of the filter's window is displayed as shown in the link below...
I can't rescale the window any further! Do I have to customise something to make it display fully?
As a new user I really prefer the single window mode but have a real problem in that every time I open a filter the window/box that open opens up underneath the single window and I cant see it without minimising the main gimp window. I've played with the preferences windows management options and seem to have all the file options curves etc on top now (these were opening under the single window at one point) but nothing I do seems to want to make the filter boxes open where I can see them - It's making GIMP quite unpleasant to use.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using the radial filter with no problems.Now it will not display the circle or ellipse. it seems to be working as when I try to do the circle and it will not show but if I change the exposure or any of the setting it does do that.

Have I accidently changed something or a setting to cause this .
I am using Paint Shop Pro X5 Ultimate.The Preview Window of the Manage Tab seemed to be displaying photos oddly - the photo wasn't filling the preview window (it was leaving an area around the bottom and right-hand side of the photo). At first I thought it was just the zoom setting, so I zoomed in. However, I have now used several features of the software that seem to show that the Preview Window (only on the Manage Tab) is incorrectly displaying the preview.
The problem became further evident when I used the Find People feature of Paint Shop Pro to locate the faces and tag several people, however the position of the tags are as if the Preview Window is filled by the photo. I have attached a screenshot that shows that the tag for the person in the bottom right-hand corner of the photo has her tag positioned off the photo (outside of the border of the photo) to the bottom and right of the photo even though it was automatically placed by the software. The position of the tags for the people in the photo are all offset slightly to the right and down and would be correct only if the photo was displaying correctly in the Preview Window.
I have tested uploading the photos to Facebook and the tags appear correctly once on Facebook. If I manually tag the faces as they appear on the Preview Window, the tags are incorrectly placed once the photo has been uploaded to Facebook (they appear up and to the left of where the face is positioned in the photo.
I have tried resetting the preferences and turning off some display features of Microsoft Windows, but I have seen to changes in the Preview Window.
Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?) The example photo was taken in .jpg format using a Nikon D3100 and 18-200mm Nikon DX lens, though this affects my entire photo collection taken on several different cameras and in several different formats (including RAW).
What devices are involved and their mode of connection? The files were transferred directly from the camera to the computer using a USB cable. Project Properties:I was using the Manage tab to sort photos and tag people using the Find People feature and also tried manually tagging faces.
When using the Filter Window, we would like to see the other layers at the same time. At the moment, we only see the active layer on a transparency checker background.
Is this possible ?
Has anyone else had a problem with filter (noise, sharpen, blur, etc.) preview windows in CS4? When I move the image within the window, I see a flickering border made up of pieces of the image, showing one side of the square at a time. This occurs with or without Open GL enabled.
I have noticed no such problem with the preview window in Noiseware; however, with Noise Ninja, moving the window brings on a dotted, horizontal line running down the screen when the mouse button is lifted. I have no problem with zooming and panning with main image windows with or without Open GL; however, I do have flickering when dragging a single or multiple windows with Open GL only.
Another problem I have seen occurring with or without Open GL is the multiplication of dialog boxes when dragging them. Possibly related?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).

In the "movie prime" setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?
camera raw filter does not show up on the filter drop list on CC. I am trying to determine why this is the case. So far everything else seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've deleted my PS preferences and restarted, and I cannot get this filter to do what is was just doing a day earlier. It doesn't matter what the foreground/background colors are, nor does it matter what the resolution of the file is. I've experimented with every variable. The filter effect changes the filled layer to a solid color of the current foreground color. No lines, dots or circles at all.

I'm trying to make lines in a filled layer, or a rasterized text layer.Adjusting the sliders has no effect at this point, but the other Gallery filters DO work, oddly enough.

I've used this filter effect many times over the years, and it just started acting wonky. This is PS CS6, on Mac OSX 10.8.5.It seems to be unpredictable or temperamental. Is there a reasonably-priced plugin that will create lines that are completely adjustable?
I have Photoshop CS4 running on a 8 gig Vista 64 bit system. When I click on Filters, there is no Extract Filter. I did a search prior to posting and saw some threads talking about not moving files, icons etc from their original folder. I am un sure if anything has been moved. However, when I click on Filters, they all seem to be there (at least not greyed out), EXCEPT for the Extract filter. Any help would be apprecited and if you let me know where the filters should reside I can make sure they are in the correct location.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just installed my newly purchased PSC5 extended software. When I try to use the ACR it will load and I can use it but when I try to open, save or cancel my image I cannot. This is because the ACR window is too 'long' for my Sony desktop window and the buttons I am trying to access are in the 'shadow' of the desktop window. When I try to resize the ACR window to access the buttons it will let me adjust it on the vertical window edges but not on the horizontal window edges. I have to reboot the laptop to do anything at all.

When I inserted the window into a wall, otherwise the window worked fine, but when I changed the window's Window Inset value, the frame depth changed instead of the frame's location. The frame was originally made by Sweep tool, but now when I made it by Extrusion tool, the window works fine. Anyway, for future purposes, I would like to know how to be able to use the Window Inset parameter with a frame made by Sweep tool. How do I lock the depth of the frame sweep?

I have two monitors and would like to be able to have another window / view open on the other monitor.
I accidently moved my channel window seperately, so there's a box for channels and theres a box for layers/paths.
How do I get it so the layers, paths, and channels are all in one window/box?
My old laptop tried to self-destruct, so I was forced to move a huge amount of art files to a new laptop. Now, I have no thumbnails in Photoshop (PS3 using XP Professional) and oddly enough, it appears that often entire folders and files aren't showing up when they're actually there. The only thing I'm seeing is the PSD logo. .tifs, .jpgs, and other formats aren't even showing up as being on the disk.
I've gone through all settings that I know of and can't seen to find the 'fix'.
How do you people constantly attach images to your posts? The feature only way I can see allows up to 768000 bytes, and I can't for the life of me get an image (.jpg) down to that little... do you guys use some compression program, or does the size limit increase by posts or something? I'm having problems posting stuff in other threads, so I thought I'd ask. ^^

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I Save For Web the color shifts. It becomes more vibrant (which I would prefer...). I have reset the settings for photoshop followed by a uninstall/install of photoshop and am still getting the color shift. I got new monitors somewhat recently but set up the color profile via adobe gamma's thing ( I had to download that seperatly, I couldn't find it in the Control Panel).I don't think it's the color profile of the monitor because everything else seems fine. I have never had to use any of the settings for color management before so I've never opened those (I've hit Ctrl+y on occassion on accidnet..) Here is a jpg of the difference(of course it's been processed 2x..so it's a little bit more vibrant but it's still visible)I included the settings I have in the jpg.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a Fireworks user who fears the discontinuation now that adobe has acquired macromedia so I'm finally gunna learn photoshop.
I downloaded the try-out version of PS CS2 and loaded up a photo but it displays incredibly dark, and no amount of messing with edit->color is fixing it.
If I view the image in fireworks, or just in windows xp default image display, the colors are fine. When I load the image in PS, it is extremely dark.
It is not my monitor. I downloaded PS and put it on my other computer and the colors displayed fine - not dark at all.
Here is my hardware:

2x1GB Sticks of ram (2G
Asus A8N-SLI nForce4 Mobo
120GB Maxtor Drive
ATI X800 256MB graphics card.
19" Samsung 191T LCD
No matter what I do it looks dark. This is extremely strange. It is not my monitor - as images look fine outside PS, ane they continue to look dark even if I switch the monitor to a CRT.
I've done several uninstalls of PS and reinstalled.
i open a image file in Photoshop CS4 it looks all jumbled and has diagnol lines going through it. Even when i open just a blank file it has a huge black triangle going through it.
