I have just started using Photoshop and have uploaded all my photos from my computer's hard-drive, and am displaying them using the 'Folders' view in Organizer. Unfortunately, all the photos are being displayed twice - once within 'Pictures' and once within 'Macintish HD'>'Users'>'Amy'>'Pictures'. I would like the photos to appear only once so that I know which set I am working from.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to have the organizer folders set up the same was as Windows Explorer? I have a main folder called Family with sub folders for all the years and in each of the subfolders there could be other subfolders. It wouldn't allow me to click on main folder and get all sub folders. I had to open main folder and then it shows all folders and sub folders separately. They are no longer nested.
Along the same lines, I wanted to create an album of Family with all subfolders, but that doesn't work.that is definitely a short coming which is why I never have used the organizer program, but just PSE for editing.
I have installed Elements 12 and successfully indexed my media files and performed facial recognition, however now in the organiser, not all files are displaying. Some are and others come up with an image like a broken link (See image). All the photos are fine (not corrupted) and can be viewed by other media viewers.

There was an error message that said the media files had been moved since import and were now gone with no backup. I imported all my pictures into Organizer. As it turns out, that included dozens of subfolders containing near-duplicate images, which now all show up in Organizer. That is because I previously used Google Picasa, which backs up the unprocessed original images into a subfolder called .picasaoriginals. I want to remove all these .picasaoriginals folders, but the only wny I can find to do it is to right-click each one individually, click Delete Folder, then confirm in the dialog box. I can't find any way to multi-select the folders.
Also, I have two of these folders that appear shaded in the folder list, where the option to delete is greyed-out. The contents report as not found, and my guess is that the folders have been deleted from the disk. How do I get rid of these from the folder list in Organizer?
Is it possible to make a new folder inside organizer? Rather than having to make the folders in Finder(OSX)/my Computer (win) and then import them....?

I find I can duplicate the photo and then drag and drop it, but each step takes literally a minute to complete (in explorer it is 1 second or less). To move a hundred photos one at a time to different folders would take quite a while.
so I tried to pull them in from the FILE button get new files and it won't because the photo exists in another folder in the catalog.

How do I transfer the entire organizer of Elements 9 to the empty organizer in Elements 12? By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. Is it better to just re-load all the photos from a fresh folder that is on my desktop? There are 5,000 !
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using PE9. Every time I go to the Organizer (even after switching to another program briefly) the Update box appears, searching Watched Folders for new pics. It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.

The folder where the daily folder was dragged from is now empty but those folders do not appear in the recieving folder. All the photos are still in the catalog, but do not show in the folders (left side panel).

I can't work on pictures from these folders - I get the message: File named xxx is offline or missing. It does not sync the parent folder. Nor does it sync the folder it self. If I right clik on a LR4 folder with a ?, and try to locate the folder, I only get the option to merge the identical folders. Is there any way to sort this. I can't restore the old folder names.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using LR3. I appear to be digging a massive hole for myself trying to sort out the catalog. When I first got LR, I had initially added just a small number of files just to see how LR worked. At this time I was still completing sorting out my full photo collection in 'my pictures' which were also copied to two external hard drives. Once that work was completed, I imported a complete folder (some 4000 images) into LR. The folder/subfolders appeared in the folders panel but the sub folders I had initially imported were displayed with a ? and a message 'file is missing or offline' Going down the road of 'find missing folder' eventually led to my problems.
About 6 sub folders are involved so I eventually took the decision that it could be easier just to remove them so I could then re-import them from 'my pictures'. That hasn't worked out as planned. When I go into 'file' to import photos from 'my pictures' the missing sub folders are there but the images are 'greyed' as well as the import button. When I put the cursor onto one of the greyed-out images the message 'appears to be a duplicate of another photo already in catalog' appears.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy old laptop tried to self-destruct, so I was forced to move a huge amount of art files to a new laptop. Now, I have no thumbnails in Photoshop (PS3 using XP Professional) and oddly enough, it appears that often entire folders and files aren't showing up when they're actually there. The only thing I'm seeing is the PSD logo. .tifs, .jpgs, and other formats aren't even showing up as being on the disk.
I've gone through all settings that I know of and can't seen to find the 'fix'.
How do you people constantly attach images to your posts? The feature only way I can see allows up to 768000 bytes, and I can't for the life of me get an image (.jpg) down to that little... do you guys use some compression program, or does the size limit increase by posts or something? I'm having problems posting stuff in other threads, so I thought I'd ask. ^^

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I Save For Web the color shifts. It becomes more vibrant (which I would prefer...). I have reset the settings for photoshop followed by a uninstall/install of photoshop and am still getting the color shift.I got new monitors somewhat recently but set up the color profile via adobe gamma's thing ( I had to download that seperatly, I couldn't find it in the Control Panel).I don't think it's the color profile of the monitor because everything else seems fine. I have never had to use any of the settings for color management before so I've never opened those (I've hit Ctrl+y on occassion on accidnet..)Here is a jpg of the difference(of course it's been processed 2x..so it's a little bit more vibrant but it's still visible)I included the settings I have in the jpg.
