Conversion to gray scale does not do the trick.
How do I change an image to Monotone, is there such a choice in LR?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe color space on the selected images appears to be changing when I use the Lightroom flash gallery in the web module of LR4.1. This stays the same when the gallery is uploaded. In previous version of LR I have seen color changes in the web module but they have been corrected (and correct) when the gallery is uploaded to the 'net.
I have read that this was (previously) a problem with the flash gallery specifically becuase it was not colour magaded, but I understood that this had been corrected for LR4. As far as my use is concerned it's actually more problematic now than it has been previously.
i am trying to make a set of shirts with different icons. they are currently black but i need them to be rainbow striped. for example, i have a jpg of a map made of up of black lines that i've pasted into my Ps document. i want the lines to be rainbow striped instead of black. the site won't let me post a link to an example.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to figure out how to change a custom shape. Shape: 35px H x 700px W rectangle with vertical gradient. What I want to do: I am wanting to reshape the left 100 or so pixels so that the left side curls up and comes to a point approx 50px above. Best way to describe would be the shape would look like a candy cane laid on its side.
NOTE: I don't have a problem creating the shape. I have a problem with getting the gradient to follow through with the shape - the gradient wants to change according to the heigth of the curl. So far the only "attempted" way was using the liquify feature but I can never draw a good circular shape by hand.
I am having trouble in changing the color of the bullets without changing the text color. Problem is I cannot select/highlight just the bullet so any new color selected applies to the whole line including bullet and text. I am using DP v 7.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am writing an article for a magazine that will be offset-printed on matte paper without spot colours (< 5000 copies). I am a fairly new CS5 user and also fairly naïve about commercial printing. Anyway, I would like to include some greyscale images in the article but convert them to one colour (15/100/100/0 Red). Right now, I can achieve this two different ways, but I get different results....
Method 1: I opened the original greyscale TIFF image in Photoshop, changed the mode from Greyscale to Duotone, changed the preset to custom, changed the type to Monotone, selected the colour swatch for Ink 1, selected "picker," and set the CMYK values to 15/100/100/0, respectively, and named the Ink 1 value as "RED." I then placed the image in InDesign.
Method 2: I placed the same greyscale TIFF image in InDesign, selected the image with the white arrow, and chose CMYK red 15/100/100/0 from the swatches panel.
Compared to the monotone, the TIFF is a much darker, deeper, almost orangey red. I would like to know if there is a "standard" way to achieve this monotone effect (without spot colours), or if it makes any sort of difference to the printer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am creating a simple logo for the top banner of my site, now the banner is simple although i am having issues with putting an image inside a shape.
I have created a circle on its own layer and i want to grab all of the image inside of the circle itself and move that over to my main project. can anyone help out?
Basically i used to pen tool to draw a shape, i rasterised it and put an inner shadow on it using the layer styles, now how i could erase a corner of that shape without the inner shadow moving around the part i've just erased because i'm trying to blend it into the background
I hope you know what i mean, im sure if you opened photoshop, drew a shape, put inner shadow on it and then tried to erase a corner of it you'd see what i mean by the inner shadow moving into the part i just erased.
When I draw a character, i cannot change line weight of fill shapes. When I do so it remains unchanged, however once I export everything is fine and okay.
This image below is how it looks. Even though it is colored.
Once I export I get this
I am wanting to do some images prints but using text. I want to shape the text into the shapes of certain images eg waves, Christmas tress, castle, babies pram etc is this something i could do with elements?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI messed up! I have like 70 different layers..each with a shape on it. I want all the shapes to be the same colour, but I dont want to do it manually and I want to keep te shapes.. Is there any way to do it? Besides layer style colour overlay...
Is there now way to merge these layers and put all the shapes together in one layer?
For some reason, all of a sudden when I go to make a shape and choose a color, it does not fill. I noticed that the Style box to the right of the color box on the top bar had a white box with a red line through it. I then chose Simple Outer from the drop down box and it still will not fill. I am using Elements 10.
View 5 Replies View Relatedhow to make it the way I want.I want the same exact effect as the "Color Halftone" filter in Photoshop makes, but what I'm searching for is a way to change the traditional dots to a costume shape.I tried other alternative solutions, like pattern overlay, in blending options.
here the shape of the halftone effect is circles which is what I want to change, but I want the same effect with the varying sizes, and the colors.
This is the patter i want to use, but it doesn't have the same effect with the colors, because it's just a pattern over a colored area. and the sizes doesn't vary either. The shape in this pattern is the one I want to use instead of the circles, that is the stock one in Photoshop.
I am working on a graphic that has a circle with many small circles around it. All the circles are on seperate layers and were made with the shape tool. How can I change the color in all the small cicles at once? Isn't there a way to chage the attributes of multiple shapes at one time? I swear I saw this somewhere in my books but cannot find it now.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I select a color for text and shapes, the software defaults to shades of gray, although black and white are available. I use the eyedropper to select red on the pallette, for example, and the red box is framed. But the color sample on both the menu bar and the tool bar sets to gray. Is there a swicth somewhere that inhibits red, green, blue, etc.?
I even reinstalled the program, thinking I had a glitch--no change. The color selection had always worked in the past.
I'm trying to combine a monotone image onto a grayscale image to use in my Indesign file. The whole job has to print two colors.
How can I easily make the diaper a PMS color and add it to the grayscale baby and still maintain two colors (PMS + K)
Right now, I'm cheating and combining the PMS diaper onto the grayscale baby in Indesign..... but I really need to have this in Photoshop so I can add shadows to make it more convincing. I tried converting the grayscale to CMYK and deleting all channels but black, didn't work as it took away all the information from the image.
See image below.

Jusy wanted to know how would I go about copying this image. I want everything the same besides the coloured shapes. I want to be able to edit the image. As when I try to trace over it with the pen tool I can never get it to look the same. What would be the easiest way? or would photoshop be better suited for copying the images without the blue and pink shapes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to illustrator and having trouble with changing the background color of the working board. I'd like to see how my very simple shapes look under dark conditions (black background).
So, while I was able to change the color of the background, my shapes, along with their fill colors, just disappeared. They're there, "behind" the background and I can't / don't know how to bring them to the front.
How can I accomplish such a simple task ?
I am working on a project, and I have finished tracing everything. I am now ready to color in the objects, but when I fill the shape with color, it does not work. My layer is not locked.

Here is a screenshot of what happens after I select the red square and do a Color Exchange from red to black.
What I'm in the process of doing is creating shapes in Sketchup and exporting them as 2D images. Obviously, those images have a lot of "dead" space around them that I would like to reduce.
I'm able to select a rectangle selection tool and select my image, with the goal of pasting it into a new image which will have much less "white" space around it. My question, is there a more precise way of doing this? I need to cut out an even pixel space, for example, a 128 x 64 (both sides need to be even), how do I know what is the size I'm cutting out? And sometimes it's hard to do correctly do it with my mouse, is there a way to adjust the selection borders with the keyboard instead?
I have a solid red image and I want to change that red to an exact red hex code I have. Is there a way to change this color without affecting the quality of the image? I thought this would be really easy, but everything I've found online doesn't give me the color I want, or It doesn't allow me to be 100% accurate.
