i am trying to make a set of shirts with different icons. they are currently black but i need them to be rainbow striped. for example, i have a jpg of a map made of up of black lines that i've pasted into my Ps document. i want the lines to be rainbow striped instead of black. the site won't let me post a link to an example.
View 3 RepliesI can't seem to figure out how to change a custom shape. Shape: 35px H x 700px W rectangle with vertical gradient. What I want to do: I am wanting to reshape the left 100 or so pixels so that the left side curls up and comes to a point approx 50px above. Best way to describe would be the shape would look like a candy cane laid on its side.
NOTE: I don't have a problem creating the shape. I have a problem with getting the gradient to follow through with the shape - the gradient wants to change according to the heigth of the curl. So far the only "attempted" way was using the liquify feature but I can never draw a good circular shape by hand.
Consider the following image in which all of the pixels are grey. How can I easily select all the grey pixels and turn them black?
View 3 Replies View RelatedLooking for a simple procedure to create text and shapes in CS4 starting with a blank document. Text added fine. After dragging with the rectangle tool, the result sometimes disappears, or not; in any case it does not print. When I add a line by dragging, the rectangle disappears. I must be missing something about layers, but have tried all the obvious layers commands and they do not seem to help.

I use to design posters in a different program and what ever i drew stayed one the page it didn't disapear unless i place another object on top.
I have just installed Photoshop CS6 and notice every time i add a new layer there is pixelated lines and decayed shapes that show up. This makes it impossible to work. I have a Nvidia Quadro 6000 running in combination with a tesla c2075 there was not any problem i could see with other CS6 programs and it was working fine with CS5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working with some vectorial cartoonish drawings, and while it's mostly quite easy, I'm having problems with disconnected lines. At the end of a disconnected line it needs to gradually get thinner and end in a small, rounded off point. It needs to to become thinner much slower than the normal rounded-off point, kind of a sharpenned edge effect.
So far the only method I could manage is making a shape instead of a line, but it's much harder to work whenever I want to change something, since I have to rework node by node. So I was wondering if there was a way to convert a line into a shape, so I can modify it all I want as a line, and then turn it into a shape and add the sharpened end.
I'm designing a badge for my cricket team and have created a design using a shield shape which I've divided into four quarters with a horizontal and a vertical line. How do I split the shape so I can colour the individual quarters? There are similar areas of the design made up of lines that I want to colour individually. I guess the question is, if I created a square shape by drawing four separate lines, how do I join the lines in order to fill the square shape with colour?

The first, I'd like both the tangent points of the square/triangle snap to that of the cirles. [URL] ....
The second, it's already snapped to the bottom as it's horizontal (verticle obviously also snaps) but the angle doesn't. [URL] .....
I would not like to just zoom in and guess as closely as possible as there would always be 2 vertices which I wouldn't want.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I draw a character, i cannot change line weight of fill shapes. When I do so it remains unchanged, however once I export everything is fine and okay.

I've got a problem with the combine shapes > slice (cut) shapes. (Designer Pro X).
I often use this tool to cut a graphic to make a repeating object, so I don't want it to have any boarder, just solid color. But for some reason when I cut the shape xara puts a little (approx 1 pixel) transparent line where the shape has been cut. This is often added to exported to the edges of pngs and svgs and looks a bit like anti-aliasing of some sort but I don't want this, just a solid object.
How to avoid this? See my attachment for an example png that I created by simply slicing one rectangle from another, I want to be able to do this without the extra line appearing - ie just solid black.
I'm trying to create a star icon with lines through it. I used the star shape builder tool and then the line segment tool, but the lines are not being recognised as part of the star shape. For example, when I try to turn the star, the lines remain in the same place. This is pretty much exactly what I am trying to make, but I can't form the segments into one cohesive, editable shape.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a macbook pro with Photoshop CS6 installed. Recently Photoshop has been freezing frequently. Especially if I try to use too big of a brush. The cursor will change to the rainbow loading symbol, and I can't click on anything else on the computer. After it is finished loading a few minutes later, everything else on the computer is slowed down. What can I do to make the program run faster, and stop it from freezing? Is it the program or the computer? Does the computer need more speed to be able to run the program?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the latest Macbook Air 13" (intel i5 1.8 mhz with 4gb DDR3). I downloaded a trail version of PS CS6 from the creative cloud. It worked fine but suddenly it began act wierd. Every 10 seconds the software stucks for 3 seconds (Rainbow wheel). My computer is brand new and nothing else is installed. I upadted the latest PS patch and download the latest OSX updates but it is still happening.
Update: This is happening mostly when I'm using the text editing tool... (I'm using hebrew fonts as well),
Using autoCAD 2009, having problems with my line changing to a lighter color, when I draw a line going horizontal it would be the color of the layer I put it in, when I draw a vertical line, the lines turns lighter, for example using color 31, horizontal it's the color I assigned it when vertical it turns white, red does the same thing except for when vertical it is pinkish, how do I get it back to be the same horizontal or vertical?

I started out by converting our CAD details to Revit and saving them in one file in individual Detail Views. The next step is to convert the line weights to the new company standard styles and widths. I thought it would be as simple as selecting an old detail line type then “Selecting All Instances in Entire Project” and converting all of those line styles to the new standard in one fell swoop (rinsing and repeating until all the old line styles were up to date). However, Revit doesn’t allow you to “Select All Instances” of Detail Lines (oops). We have about 500 standard details that need to be converted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working in autoCAD 2011 and I have a quick question: When I open the drawing up from a recent save, all my polylines are not accurate and don't show curves. When I double click the lines, it adjusts itself and shows the curve that I had drawn. Why is this? Will this affect the file if I choose to plot it? Can I keep the lines curved and not have to double click every single line when I open the file just to see what it's supposed to be?
