For coping with RAW file picture, I would like to update my computer from PentiumD cpu+1g memory to i5 CPU+8g memory. However I still have a graphic card with Nvidia GT210 chip and 128M memory on board.
I just want to know whether the graphic card can cope with Photoshop and lightroom? I don't want the card delay the CPU when editing the RAW file in Photoshop.
I currently use Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 4.1. I am in the process of having a new computer built just for editing my photography. The board will be an ASUS P9X79 with an intel Core i7-3820 and 16 GB memory. The technician would like a recommendation of the best graphics card for editing still images.
All of my work is done in RAW from a 5D MII. 21 megapixel.
I am creating a gif animation with GIMP 2.8.6 in Windows 7 64 bits.
I open the png files with the option "Open as layers" and then I edit the name of each layer setting the delay and the mode, for example "layer1(1000 ms)(replace)", "layer2(5000 ms)(replace)", ...
If I go to "Filters->Animation->Reproduce" the animation is OK. But if I export the file to a .gif file, the delay between layers is the specified in the Export options and not the delay which I set in the name of the layers.
How can I export a .gif file with the delay specified in the name of layers?
To gimp-user list recipients, I've run into a problem where I cant edit the delay between frames for my .GIF file. Im looking to set it it 41ms for each frame, which Ive done when prompted as I save my file, but the playback speed seems to stay at 100ms delay when I open the finished .GIF. Is it possible Gimp has trouble applying the delay to a high amount of frames? Im used alot of layers, 280 to be exact. The images/layers are from a video I previously converted to PNGs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Autocad2014. I have had issues with two windows7 64bit machines where using the file open dialogue (network file) has an 8 second delay to open the file. If I open using recent documents(in cad) or windows file explorer to open them, there is no delay. Moving the file to the local machine stops the delay, but removing XREF's did not.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI shoot raw/jpg. I viewed in Digital Photo professional and transferred a Tiff to photoshop. I saved the image on a seperate disc. when I opened and tried to save again I received an error saying I didn'thave permission. I finally saved the psd version by changing the name of the picture. when I went back to the raw file on my flash card it was gone. when I went back to the tiff file that was gone to. the only file I have left is the jpg back up and the psd version. All the other pictures are still on both the flash card and my backup drive except this one. I've done recovery searches and they recover everything i've deleted from the flash card except the file I need. I don't understand why this happend. I've tried searching for hidden files etc. I didn't delete this file. the recovery program shows that it is there it just won't get it. it gets everything else but not this one. both the raw and the tiff files disappeared from two different drives. I want to get the raw file back.

have been using PSP8 for a long time with no problems. i regularly copy files from my HD to a memory card but recently i have been getting the following error message for no apparent reason:
cannot copy [filename]: the directory or file cannot be created
if i try to copy a batch of files this does not happen for all files - just more recent ones. so half the files get copied, the others don't. i have checked file properties old files vs new and cannot see any difference. my memory card is not full.
I'm working on a double sided business card and I would like to know how to set up the file in Illustrator.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI love tethered Shooting but as default (at least for Nikon) Lightroom does only save the file on the computer, not on the memory card.
Now I want to have a backup of the image file on the memory card additionally to downloading it. The tethering software digiCamControl can do this with my camera, so it is technically possible.
So how can I achieve this using Lightroom tethering?
I don't know what I've done, but I must have changed something in the preferences that has created a problem.
After completing my edits on a jpg file and flattening it, when I go to save it, Photoshop is changing it to a PSD file instead of saving it as the original file. If I manually select jpg it saves it as a copy instead of overwriting the original file.
How do I edit a .CR2 file in Photoshop, and then save it again to open as a .CR2 file?
View 18 Replies View RelatedIt happened already twice. I am working in one of my layers, I am changing the levels , the image in that layer gets black. I cant undo or go back in history. In the history pallette the original picture at the top goes black. If I try to save, all the layers get corrupted, with missing arbitrary squares in all of them. The first time it happens the missing areas where white, the second time they change to black. The top picture in the history pallette maches the black or white color.
The small picture in the icon in my desktop looks normal , but when open is tottally corrupted. If I have other files open, all of them get corrupted also if I tried to save.
This is first time I am using photosop, and I dont know much, It will be appereciated if any one could help me, I ahve to edit the text of a GIF file, there is a background in the GIF file and text is on top of backgroung image, I have no idea how to edit the text.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have done a lot of editing with VideoStudio Pro on current system but never ran into somthing like this:
I have a 2.7G file that I pulled from my DVR (mpg). Plays well on my ThinkPad but when I try to load it into VideoStudio Pro X3 (13.6.2.69) the software stops responding (get the "not responding" message) and I have to end the process.
I updated to SP3, no luck. Uninstalled and reinstalled VideoStudio, no luck. Search Corel and various boards and found nothing about file size being an issue. Even adjusted virtual memory settings.
I've got a serious issue since the begining of my Photoshop CS6 installation.It's not happening to all my files but few are enough !
I explain myself : When I open a file with many text layers and when I try to edit one of them the text is instantly remplaced by another random text present in this same file.Then the file seems to be corrupted because when I open it with CS5 it does the same thing.
I can't re-edit those files and I must rewrite all those text layers, this is not possible to handle that in a professional way.I tried to launch the script for texts crashes but nothing works.

I have a few actions to speed things up, but now i need to use the same actions but with different directory structures. Is there an easy way to just change the path used in an action?
I've tried using a hex editor to do the job but, photoshop fails to load the updated action.
I just upgraded to Photoshop 10 from 3. Now, when I am editing a few days worth of pictures one after the other, I go to open the next file (picture) the computer takes me back to the top (first one listed) each time. Many times I am editing over 100 pictures in the file, and now have to scroll down each time and that takes forever. I have to remember what number picture I was on. In my earlier version, the compiter "held" the spot where I was so it was easy to select trhe next picture to edit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with editing RAW images from my Nikon D3000. I've downloaded the DNG Converter from Adobe and converted all my files to DNG. However, when I opened them on Photoshop Elements 4.0, they turned out VERY grainy! (Even though all the shots are clear when viewed on my camera)
Also, I could not save my files as JPG (After converting them to DNG). The only options were TIFF, PNG, JPF (?).

These are not XML from Final Cut. They are files saved from Media Express, a Black magic design program used for Capturing.

up unitl this point I have been mainly editing and tweaking still projects but now I'm trying to get into the animation (for another forum )
I have all the images but when I go to Save for Web, it won't let me change the delay at all from the whip-lash fast 0.2 seconds a frame!
It's great.... I just can't have it going that fast and don't know how to extend the delay ...

I know there is no setting in Preferences.
I just (re)installed Photoshop on my computer after a fresh install of Windows (damn that 2 year rule...) and now the color white on the screen comes out as a light yellow. When i save the files and view it in another program, or print it, it comes out as white, and the numbers (whatever they're called) are set to 255, 255, 255, yet it still comes out as a yellow.

I was currently working on a project in photoshop, and i had a text layer I saved it as a psd to make any later changes, and now when i want to change the "text" layer it does not change, What i mean by change is when i click my type tool to change the spelling of the text the text is not slected instead it makes a new layer.
