When I edit a raw (CR2) image and then save as a .tiff file and close, my original raw file also appears edited in the Organizer. To reset to default to get back my unedited CR2, but this is time consuming and I never had to do this in the past. How can I retain my CR2 in the Organizer after editing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI love the Elements 11 organiser but prefer to edit using PS CS6. However, everytime I edit using PS CS6, the Elements organiser creates a JPG file. If I save this as a PSD file, I have to manually trick Elements organiser into reconnecting to the PSD file by deleting the JPG from windows explorer and then manuall reconnecting the JPG to the PSD instead. This is also the case if I want to just go straight into OnOne Perfect Photo Suite by setting it up as an external editing program.
Is there a way to change Elements organisers behaviour?
The videos are there, but I just get the hourglass picture. If I doubleclick them, they'll play just fine. But I have no way of quickly scanning thumbnails to pick a movie.
While we're on the subject of thumbnails, I can only see thumbnails for my pictures if I make them larger. If I try to make the thumbnails smaller, they just won't ever show up. I have about 1800 video clips (very few longer than 1 minute), and about 10,000 pictures.
The icons don't come up at the top and bottom of the page in Organizer and I can't scroll to the bottom of the pagein Elements 11. It's like the entire page doesn't fit on the computer screen.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from PSE5 to PSE12. The installation went smoothly and my old Catalog was imported without a hitch. After my first test run to edit a file, I did a "Save As" in a version set with the original. I then closed the file, but when I went to the organizer, it was not there. When I go to the folder in Windows Explorer, the edited file is present - I just can't get it to appear (alone or in a version set) in the Organizer. (FYI, I am running Windows 8).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to copy photos from one folder to another, leaving them in the original folder and have them show in the organizer in the new folder.
I find I can duplicate the photo and then drag and drop it, but each step takes literally a minute to complete (in explorer it is 1 second or less). To move a hundred photos one at a time to different folders would take quite a while.
so I tried to pull them in from the FILE button get new files and it won't because the photo exists in another folder in the catalog.
How can you have the organizer show photos in multiple folders, is it possible
I have tagged all of my video files (wmv, mp4) with keywords in Adobe Bridge. I am certain that they are written to the files. Unfortunately PE 11 Organizer doesn't seem to see those on import? Any suggestions on how to make that happen? I am looking for ways to search for video clips and import the search results into Premiere Elements. Unfortunately there is no direct way to go from Bridge to Premiere Elements either.

Older pictures are already to see and i can select a single picture to see just this one...it will be shown.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Elements 11 on Windows 7. My photo album was initially in Picasa but we imported all the photos (e.g. 13,000+) into Lightroom 4 and Elements 11.
Lightroom correctly imported all the files (including all images in the .picassa orignals sub-folder), while Elements only imported a subset of the files.
Elements didn't import any images in the .picassa original folder, and also omitted many folders as well as the contents of some folders.
Is there a file watcher 'refresh' that will reimport all the images? I suppose I could delete the 'watched' folder from the file watcher and then re-initiate the add.However, since I don't know why files and folder were missed in the first place, I'd like to understand my options.
PS10. when using the organizer I clicked on full edit saved the file. The file is no longer visible in the organizer. File icon shows a broken file. It is visible with other prgms. I can see the edited file say in Win explorer etc.

Installed PSE 11. OS is Win 7. Worked ok a short time then got message "PSE 11 stopped working". I try to open file from Orginizer into Expert Editor and only get a blank screen now. Tried all three ways of opening into Editor. (Works ok in PSE 9). What other info do you need to solve this problem? This is the second time this has happened. The first time I believe it corrected with out any action on my part.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a large image collection, in excess of 40,000. I'm running on a PC with Windows 7 and all updates installed. I just purchased PSE 11 to replace PSE 10. After installing PSE 11 I converted my catalog. That seemed to go OK. At that point I discovered that my C: drive was almost full so I decided to move my image collection from its C: drive location to an external hard drive that had sufficient capacity. In order to ensure the integrity of the catalog I decided that I should use the PSE 11 Organizer to move the files. This would allow the Organizer to update the location information for the files as it moved them, although it was clear that this would take many hours to complete. So, using Organizer I did a "drag and drop" of my image collection's root file from the C: location to the external drive which happened to be the J: drive. Organizer appeared to be running properly so I left it to continue overnight. The next morning I discovered that only about 2/3 of the files had been moved. There was a very cryptic message that said the opertion could not be completed because of "possibly unsupported files types, files with read only attributes.." etc. I did not write down the actual message and it did not tell me where in the transfer the failure occurred. After doing some detective work I discovered that many folders and files had been copied to the J: drive that were not appearing in the Organizer catalog and consequently were not being displayed. Some folders had only a portion of their files copied. Fortunately, the files were still visible and cataloged on the C: drive. I did look at my files on the C: drive and there were some that for what ever reason had read only attributes.
The selected file, files, or folders should be copied to the specified destination. At that point they should be added to the catalog, then the files should be deleted from their original location and the catalog updated accordingly. If an original file is read only then it can't be deleted but the attempt to delete it should be reported as an inability to delete with no consequences imposed on the files that have been placed in their new location. The "problem" should not be promoted to the status of a serious or fatal error that causes only partial completion of the overall operation.
I have organized my photos in elements organizer 10, using keyword tags and sub categories on my desktop. It works great, if I want to see all pictures associated with a particular keyword tag, I select it and all photos assoicated with that tag appear.
the problem is this, I want the same scenario to work on my laptop. I realize I can rebuild the structure on my laptop, but why take the considerable time to rebuild, if there is a file that contains the structure info and move it to my laptop.
How do you avoid importing same file (Picture) from camera to Organizer more than once? I am in the habit of keeping pictures in my camera for a longer period of time. This is easy to control using Picasa - but what about Elements11?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI take high school sports photos using a Canon 7D camera, that can take about 9 pictures per second, which is great for capturing events. I've noticed with several versions of Photoshop Elements (9 &11), on Win 7 Pro 32 AND Win 7 Pro 64 versions (on multiple computers) that when I use Get Photos & Videos|From Camera or Card Reader, then in the photo downloader dialog box, use the Rename Files option, that my picture files get renamed in jumbled fashion. Not all pictures are jumbled, but many. If I have files on my Canon such as DIG001.jpg, DIG002.jpg, DIG003.jpg, DIG004.jpg, they may be renamed as RenameFilename001.jpg (which is acutally DIG001.jpg), RenameFilename002.jpg (which is actually DIG003.jpg), RenameFilename003.jpg (which is actually DIG002.jpg), RenameFilename004.jpg (which is actually DIG004.jpg) - in this case original picture files 2 & 3 have been reversed. This is very confusing when reviewing a photo sequence that is renamed into an out of chronological order sequence (i.e. ball is hiked, ball is caught by receiver, ball is kicked, receiver runs with caught ball).
I have also confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the Canon 7D camera by taking high speed pictures of a video which is displaying video frame numbers. I can confirm that the files as stored in the camera are in the direct chronological order as taken (i. e. 001, 002, 003, 004, etc.). When I then download these pictures from the camera using Photoshop Elements 11, they are not all in chronological order (some are, some aren't).
I don't know if this is a bug in the program or there is something else I need to do to assure the pictures are imported in exact chronological order (as taken by the camera).
I have been running PSE 10 for a while with my Canon 60D, windows 7 and I have never had an issue with importing CR2 files to my organizer. Now all of the sudden they will no longer show up in the organizer or rather there is the icon with a question mark, and the "mssing file" error. When I use the downloader from my card reader I can see them in the preview screen, but when the downloader is done and the files are in the organizer, get nothing but the aforementioned icons.
I installed to the DNG converter as suggested, but that did nothing as well. So, I finally gave up, purchased PSE 12, installed it and guess what, still no luck. I have updated the RAW converter to the latest version and as near as I can tell I have done everything suggested. Like I said earlier, I can see the pictures clearly in the adobe downloader when I import the files from my memory card and I can open the pics fine in the Canon software, I can even open the picture in the Editor if I go through the editor; but I can't do anything with the picture in the Organizer.
How do I transfer the entire organizer of Elements 9 to the empty organizer in Elements 12? By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. Is it better to just re-load all the photos from a fresh folder that is on my desktop? There are 5,000 !
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using PE9. Every time I go to the Organizer (even after switching to another program briefly) the Update box appears, searching Watched Folders for new pics. It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.
