This is first time I am using photosop, and I dont know much, It will be appereciated if any one could help me, I ahve to edit the text of a GIF file, there is a background in the GIF file and text is on top of backgroung image, I have no idea how to edit the text.

I've got a serious issue since the begining of my Photoshop CS6 installation.It's not happening to all my files but few are enough !
I explain myself : When I open a file with many text layers and when I try to edit one of them the text is instantly remplaced by another random text present in this same file.Then the file seems to be corrupted because when I open it with CS5 it does the same thing.
I can't re-edit those files and I must rewrite all those text layers, this is not possible to handle that in a professional way.I tried to launch the script for texts crashes but nothing works.
I was currently working on a project in photoshop, and i had a text layer I saved it as a psd to make any later changes, and now when i want to change the "text" layer it does not change, What i mean by change is when i click my type tool to change the spelling of the text the text is not slected instead it makes a new layer.

I am able to remove the text, move things around on the pdf image using Corel Draw, but I want to edit the actual customised text to name it differently, in the exact same style as previously used by the designer.
E.g. it currently says "Green Tea", but I want it to say "Coffee".
Is there a way to do this at all using any of the tools?
I have just edited some photos for a friend who was short on time, and now she would like a list of the steps I took in editing. Is there any way of listing those steps in a text file I could send her?

When attempting to add simple text on an individual layer, the layer is turning black. This prevents me from seeing the text I'm editing. When I move to another layer the text displays correctly. When I go to edit the text by clicking the image the layer goes black again. It is like editing text in the dark, turning the light on to see the changes, turning the light off to make the changes, repeat.
I am clicking on a layer in GIMP, and when I click on the text tool, this dialog pops up "CONFIRM TEXT EDITING" "the layer you selected is a text layer but it has been modified using other tools. Editing the layer with the text tool will discard these modifications. You can edit the layer or create a new text layer from its text attributes."
with 3 options, Create New layer, Cancel, and Edit however, no matter what I click, it doesn't let me create new text anywhere.ALSO, it seems to jump from the layer i selected to another layer whenever I click "EDIT."
What is weird is that I was able to create new text prior to this, but not anymore. it's gimp 2.8.0
The image is basically a scanned copy of a letter. The image is in JPEG format and the size is around 200kb. Now I want to edit the image(the scanned letter). I only want to edit the content of the letter yani the text of the letter.
Specifically speaking I want to add some text in the image. The text has to be in the same font, size etc etc so that it does not looks like it has been editied.
i'm trying to follow this tutorial on how to make ice Text. Right in the beginning of the turtorial it asks me to create a new document so big...blah blah. It tells me to use the type tool to add some text. And then press ok and cut the text, then paste the text to automatically center it. Thats just it...it wont let me cut the text.

Here's an image - a compare between CS3.In CS6 in editing text mode when select all text & use Alt + keyboard "down" I have too big jumping values of leading. It's really make uncomfortable work to exactly adjustment spacing between the lines in text blocks.
In CS3 wasn't this problem, everything was excellent with leading & very comfortable work

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having this issue with the new PS CC. It happens whenever I try to add/edit a text. Pick the text tool, click onto the work and -- bang! -- the whole work screen gets blank. Depending on the project size it may get stable at a certain ammount of zoom and keep blinking (or go completely blank) at other zoom factors. If I finish text editing the screen gets back to normal. Funny is that if I type something, it will be there, so the problem seems to be with the viewport.
PS: Currently I am going to download and install back the CS6 version as the issue reported above does not happen with it.
Using CS5 and Win7. I just noticed something with my text in CS5 which is different from CS3 and as far as I'm concerned, a step back.
I made a text layer with some words. The words appeared as the layer name in the layers palate (say I typed "TEXT" on the screen and the text layer was named text). Then I double clicked on the text icon and this selected the word on the screen. I then changed the word "TEXT" to some other word say "WORD". However, this new word I typed in was not carried over to the layer name so the old layer name remained.
In CS3, the layer name is updated when the words on the screen are changed. I'd really like to have the new text update on the layer name. Is there some way to fix this or is this just something in my system.
I'm having a problem in PS 7 ... every time i start creating/editing text, and i hit the 'enter' button, the text editing mode automatically stops instead of producing a line break and starting a new line.

After completing my edits on a jpg file and flattening it, when I go to save it, Photoshop is changing it to a PSD file instead of saving it as the original file. If I manually select jpg it saves it as a copy instead of overwriting the original file.
How do I edit a .CR2 file in Photoshop, and then save it again to open as a .CR2 file?
View 18 Replies View RelatedIt happened already twice. I am working in one of my layers, I am changing the levels , the image in that layer gets black. I cant undo or go back in history. In the history pallette the original picture at the top goes black. If I try to save, all the layers get corrupted, with missing arbitrary squares in all of them. The first time it happens the missing areas where white, the second time they change to black. The top picture in the history pallette maches the black or white color.
The small picture in the icon in my desktop looks normal , but when open is tottally corrupted. If I have other files open, all of them get corrupted also if I tried to save.
I have done a lot of editing with VideoStudio Pro on current system but never ran into somthing like this:
I have a 2.7G file that I pulled from my DVR (mpg). Plays well on my ThinkPad but when I try to load it into VideoStudio Pro X3 (13.6.2.69) the software stops responding (get the "not responding" message) and I have to end the process.
I updated to SP3, no luck. Uninstalled and reinstalled VideoStudio, no luck. Search Corel and various boards and found nothing about file size being an issue. Even adjusted virtual memory settings.
I have one large file and think it didn't save correctly or something. I've tried quitting and relaunching Photoshop but that doesn't work. Editing text in other Photoshop files works normally.
As soon as I click on any text with the type tool as though I'm going edit or style the text, the text instantly changes. Both the content and styling of the text is replaced as soon as the cursor is placed anywhere in the string of characters.
The really weird thing is the updated text matches text that appears somewhere else on the page. If I click the other text that it now matches that will also get automatically replaced by some other text on the page. And it goes on and on. It's impossible to edit or style any text unless I create new text.
I think the file has miss-arranged references to elements which only becomes apparent as I'm trying to edit.
After opening a .jpeg file, I'd like to add text. No problem adding text. The problem is editing the text. Apparently, PhotoShop Elements 10 gets stuck on one font. And it can't be changed. When clicking on the down arrow (to change the font), the User Interface "jumps" up and down. But, the font won't change. I am able to change the color of the text, but not the font. I checked my System and there's no problems. I even did a Virus scan...none found. Is there a setting from within
PhotoShop Elements 10 that I'd be able to import the fonts on my System ?
My System : Windows 7 Professional / 32-bit and 3 Gb RAM.

I just want to know whether the graphic card can cope with Photoshop and lightroom? I don't want the card delay the CPU when editing the RAW file in Photoshop.
