Photoshop :: Default Actions Folder In CS6
Sep 8, 2012I installed Photoshop CS6 on my iMac and MacBook. The MacBook has a "Default Actions" folder in the actions panel with 13 default actions. This folder did not appear on my iMac following install. However, my iMac has several image and text effect actions installed that did not install on my iMac. Would like to have the Default Actions on my iMac and text and image effect actions on my MacBook.

Apr 30, 2013I cannot for the life of me figure out how to save in a specific folder desitnations when using Actions and Saving For Web with CS6 PS for Windows. It ALWAYS defaults to last folder used. I am not Batch Processing, just using Actions on one image at a time. I have 3 of these actions.
Action one is for "Thumbnail" folder, Action two is for "Full" folder, and Action three is for "Large" folder. All these actions are doing is saving for web into these folders (path displays correctly in Action script). HOWEVER after I successfully use Action one and save into the Thumbnail folder and move on to Action 2, it wants to save back into Thumbnail AND NOT into Full folder. In short I now have 3 actions saving to the same folder even though my recording designated 3 different locations.

Jul 4, 2013i'm on a Mac. upgraded from cs3 to cs6. I opened a new Photoshop file and went to do an action that I normally do with this type of file. (I have created my own action.) But Actions is no longer where it used to be — which I think was in the History area, but I'm not sure, I just go by feel. In any case, I can't find anything having to do with Actions. Where is it hiding?

Mar 18, 2009All I can find in the Actions pull down list is the Default ones.
They include:
Vignette, Frame channel, Wood Frame, Cast shadow,water reflection, custom RGB to Gray, Molten Lead, Make clip path, Sepia toning, Quadrant colrs, Save as photoshop PDF, and Gradient Map.
I have seen on the net where there should be things like:
Command
Frames
Image effects
Production
Text effects
Textures
Video actons etc.
These are apparently Photoshop's Additional Built-In Actions. It says they are available from the action pallete and the drop down arrow at the top of the menu there. I cannot find them? What am I doing wrong or do I need to reinstall Photoshop to be able to activate these.
Photoshop :: Running Multiple Batch Actions On Same Folder?
Jul 27, 2012We run Actions on a group of images using CS4 with the File->Automate->Batch function. We use this to take, for example, 200 images from a set folder, run an action to change them into a different colour and save in a different folder, we need to do this 20 times on the same images running a different script each time to change them into a different colour and save them in the same folder (with different file extensions)

Is there a way we can instruct Photoshop to run all of these 20 scripts (one after the other in a queue as it where) without having to "Babysit" it and ask it to run each one off ourselves?

Jul 31, 2012Is there any way to set up a watched folder in Photoshop to automatically batch run an action on any image that is dropped into that particular folder?
Similar to how distiller works for PDFs.I have Creative Suite Web Premium 5.5 so if any of the other packages in the suite will do the job but I can't seem to find it.A droplet won't do the job as although the processing will take place on my machine - the image may be dropped into the folder by a colleague elsewhere.

Jan 31, 2013When I try to do a batch action, the only action set offered is ONE "default set". Which has vignettes, molten lead, gradients, etc. I need to batch process a a folder of .pict images to .jpg
It's been a long time since I used the batch feature, but I have done this process in the past (maybe years ago).
What has happened to my action sets or how i might restore them? I poked around in Time machine, but don't know enough about where to look.

I have about 1000 folders all that have a file inside called; sample.jpg. I need to resize each of them and I have to use the Save For Web option so that these files are as small as possible. Save As makes the images too big. My plan was to make an action and batch process the files. It's easy enough to open all the documents, within the root directory, that are called, sample.jpg, by using the finder search features, but what I can't seem to do is get the Save to Web option to recognize the image's source folder. If I create an action, I see that the location I used when I created the action, is hard coded, so all I'm able to do is overwrite the same file, over and over again.

Dec 18, 2013By default, PSE uses the Windows preferred location for this user. I have a folder that is easier to access, simply D:Scans, and I have to enter this manually, as well as removing the default to set up a folder with "today's date" every time I do a scan. I would like to modify these default settings. Surely those locations must be held in an installed file somewhere, and so if I can just edit that file I'd be very happy.

Nov 24, 2012I just bought Adobe Elements Photshop and Premier 11. I spent 2 to 3 hours getting my picture video library into Adobe's organizer. I had some problems with duplicate picture (that I wanted to be there - so I had to rename them) and a couple pictures with corrupted metadata. After I got all that sorted out I am a bit miffed about the folder view on Adob'es organizer.

I love that you can switch to folder view - since this is how I have been organizing my pictures for a long time. I would like to continue organizing this way for now until I get a grasp on the other ways I can organize them in elements. However, every time I close and re-open organizer it switches back to the default view instead of folder view. there is a way to set folder view to the default view!Â

Sep 6, 2013I've been trying to install autocad but seem to fail because of my installation path?
I'm pretty confused of the fact that the installation path is not my default folder and when I tried to change it back, there's no way to do so. I've attached a copy of what's happening whenever I try to install it to have a better understanding of the issue. I thought it was my computer at first, but I checked all my settings and my installation path is steadily in (C folder..however autocad aims to be installed in a different path (D and then freezes. I clicked on all 3 options at the bottom (Installation - system requirements...) but nothing allows me to change back my path folder so that the installation can take place.

If I use the code in example 1 the choose folder dialog appears and the 'Open' button is available and when I press the button the location is chosen as expected. However if I use the code in example 2, although the choose window opens in the path of the active documents location the 'Open' button is not able to be pressed until I select a folder., which means that the chosen location is not correct. I should indicate that I'm running this code on a Mac.

Any way to have a choose folder dialog window specify a location and be able to select that.

Aug 31, 2004I downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.

Nov 24, 2013My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.

Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.
