Photoshop Elements :: Change Default Folder For Scans?
Dec 18, 2013
By default, PSE uses the Windows preferred location for this user. I have a folder that is easier to access, simply D:Scans, and I have to enter this manually, as well as removing the default to set up a folder with "today's date" every time I do a scan. I would like to modify these default settings. Surely those locations must be held in an installed file somewhere, and so if I can just edit that file I'd be very happy.
I just started shooting film again. Having just received back my first few rolls back scanned as JPEGs on to CD, I wanted to import these into my Lightroom library (LR5), but have been unable to do so. Â I am trying to import them the same way I import RAW digital files, but when I try that way, they won't import. The only way they import is when there is no destination file set and they are simply stuck in a general "New Folder". Even when I try to simply rename the "new folder" to something more specific I am unable to do so.
I just bought Adobe Elements Photshop and Premier 11. I spent 2 to 3 hours getting my picture video library into Adobe's organizer. I had some problems with duplicate picture (that I wanted to be there - so I had to rename them) and a couple pictures with corrupted metadata. After I got all that sorted out I am a bit miffed about the folder view on Adob'es organizer.  I love that you can switch to folder view - since this is how I have been organizing my pictures for a long time. I would like to continue organizing this way for now until I get a grasp on the other ways I can organize them in elements. However, every time I close and re-open organizer it switches back to the default view instead of folder view. there is a way to set folder view to the default view!Â
Im trying to get my pics from elements to shutterfly. I have edited the pics already and they are in an album. When I try to select the pics to move to shutterfly, I can't pick an album only a folder. How do I go around this or can an album be changed to a folder.
I want to use photoshop elements to alter drawings so they look like quilts. I want to import fabric scans as fill colors and patterns. Is this possible?
How can I change my Editor default back to Elements 8?  When I downloaded a trial version of Elements 11, my default changed to version 11. I use Adobe Lightroom, and when I switch over to Elements using "Edit In", it automatically open Elements 11 now.
How can I change the default location for saving pictures for the first time in Elements 10? For some reason, the program is savings my work in the Temp folder when I need the work to be in the Picture LIbrary.
how to change the default setting under Jpeg options when saving changes, at present its ticked for Qulaity 12 Max but we want it on Quality 8 high and its a real pain having to change this setting every time we edit an image.
When I open Elements 9 in Folder Location the images displayed are not those in the highlighted folder. Similarly if I select another folder I see another selection of images from elsewhere in the structure.Â
I'm new to Elements 10 and I'm having a hard time figuring things out but 1 thing in particular. I'm on a PC and use Windows 7.I already import a lot of pic's to Elements or so I thought.  When I'm in "Folder Location" and click on a folder it doesn't display any pictures and says "No files from this folder have been imported into Elements Organizer. To add any files, right click on the folder and select "Import to Organizer"  So I do as I'm told and then i get this error."Nothing was imported. The files or folders selected to import did not contain any supported file types or the files are already in this catalog."
I just finished importing my photos to Elements, and was going to add the folder I keep them in to my watched folders, to keep them up to date. Since everything imported just fine, I was surprised to find that I got the following error when trying to add the folder:  The Watch Folder service returned an error: Access is denied.  I looked around the site using search and Google, and found a few other occurences of this error, but they all only show answers that apply to network shares. The folder I am trying to watch is not a network drive that I have to use a \serverfolder format to access, as the folder is located on my hard drive under C:UsersusernameGoogle DrivePictures.  Elements Organizer 11.0.0.0 Core Version: 11.0 (20120830.r.32025) Language Version: 11.0 (20120830.r.32025)  Current Catalog: Catalog Name: Google Drive Photos Catalog Location: C:ProgramDataAdobeElements OrganizerCatalogsGoogle Drive Photos Catalog Size: 31.5MB Catalog Cache Size: 68MB  System: Operating System Name: Windows 8 Operating System Version: 6.2 System Architecture: AMD CPU Family:15 Model:10 Stepping:0 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP Built-in Memory: 7.2GB Free Memory: 5.2GB  Important Drivers / Plug-ins / Libraries: Microsoft DirectX Version: 9.0 Apple QuickTime Version: 7.74 Adobe Reader Version: 11.0 Adobe Acrobat Version: Not installed
Installed Elements 12, converted catalog but now my sub folders are shown as main folders in Organizer folder view. How can I get back my original folder/sub folder system? When I look at Windows folders my system is as it was so the two don't match any more. On searching further came across more info on Community-powered support for Photoshop Family and it seems Adobe have removed the option of sub folders.Â
some way to specify where PS CS3 will look for files and where to save files. I do not want my CS3 files to be saved to the default locations, and it is a waste of time to have to re-direct PS every time I what to open or save a file.
I installed Photoshop CS6 on my iMac and MacBook. The MacBook has a "Default Actions" folder in the actions panel with 13 default actions. This folder did not appear on my iMac following install. However, my iMac has several image and text effect actions installed that did not install on my iMac. Would like to have the Default Actions on my iMac and text and image effect actions on my MacBook.
I'm using CS5.5/Photoshop5.1 Â I have about 1000 folders all that have a file inside called; sample.jpg. I need to resize each of them and I have to use the Save For Web option so that these files are as small as possible. Save As makes the images too big. My plan was to make an action and batch process the files. It's easy enough to open all the documents, within the root directory, that are called, sample.jpg, by using the finder search features, but what I can't seem to do is get the Save to Web option to recognize the image's source folder. If I create an action, I see that the location I used when I created the action, is hard coded, so all I'm able to do is overwrite the same file, over and over again.
Can I make layers default to the top when I drag and drop into a new layer folder instead of the bottom? It annoys me that they always go to the bottom and I inevitably always need them at the top.
How do I delete that pesky default publish folder that is created when I make an new hard drive publish service?I don't want the standard publish folder because I only need several smart publish folders.
The italicized Untitled Export publish folder is the one in question. There doesn't seem to be an option to delete the folder when I right click on it. If I right click on any other publish folder, there is an option to delete the folder.
I've been trying to install autocad but seem to fail because of my installation path?
I'm pretty confused of the fact that the installation path is not my default folder and when I tried to change it back, there's no way to do so. I've attached a copy of what's happening whenever I try to install it to have a better understanding of the issue. I thought it was my computer at first, but I checked all my settings and my installation path is steadily in (C folder..however autocad aims to be installed in a different path (D and then freezes. I clicked on all 3 options at the bottom (Installation - system requirements...) but nothing allows me to change back my path folder so that the installation can take place.
Any way to allow a user to choose a folder from a default location. I thought I had found the solution but it's not quite working as I wanted: Â #target illustrator
//Example 1 var output_folder = Folder.selectDialog ('Choose PDF output folder.');
//Example 2 var myFolder=Folder(app.activeDocument.path).selectDlg("Choose PDF output folder:"); Â If I use the code in example 1 the choose folder dialog appears and the 'Open' button is available and when I press the button the location is chosen as expected. However if I use the code in example 2, although the choose window opens in the path of the active documents location the 'Open' button is not able to be pressed until I select a folder., which means that the chosen location is not correct. I should indicate that I'm running this code on a Mac. Â Any way to have a choose folder dialog window specify a location and be able to select that.
Most every time I open a project I'm working on I get a Recovered Media folder in my default library. What is this media that's in this folder? Should I get rid of it or leave it?
I cannot find the default Placeholder Text Folder. In  'My Documents, I have 2 Corel folders:In the first one, it contains: Content X6.Inside of it, it contains 5 folders:1- Bitmap Patterns,  2- Image Lists,  3- Photo Frames,  4- Templates  and  5- Vector Patterns.and there's no RTF Placeholder file.In the Second Corel folder, it contains:  Corel Content.Inside of it, it contains 3 folders:  1-  Bitmap Pattern,  2- Trays  and  3- Vector Patterns. and there's no RTF Placeholder file.
