Jun 19, 2008Trying to run the default vignette action, I get a message that "feathering is not currently available." I'm wondering why I'm getting the error message and how to fix it.

View 1 RepliesAll I can find in the Actions pull down list is the Default ones.
They include:
Vignette, Frame channel, Wood Frame, Cast shadow, water reflection, custom RGB to Gray, Molten Lead, Make clip path, Sepia toning, Quadrant colrs, Save as photoshop PDF, and Gradient Map.
I have seen on the net where there should be things like:
Command
Frames
Image effects
Production
Text effects
Textures
Video actons etc.
These are apparently Photoshop's Additional Built-In Actions. It says they are available from the action pallete and the drop down arrow at the top of the menu there. I cannot find them? What am I doing wrong or do I need to reinstall Photoshop to be able to activate these.
Where is Photoshop 6's default folder for actions - I wish to place an action in it so it loads on start up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed Photoshop CS6 on my iMac and MacBook. The MacBook has a "Default Actions" folder in the actions panel with 13 default actions. This folder did not appear on my iMac following install. However, my iMac has several image and text effect actions installed that did not install on my iMac. Would like to have the Default Actions on my iMac and text and image effect actions on my MacBook.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to do a batch action, the only action set offered is ONE "default set". Which has vignettes, molten lead, gradients, etc. I need to batch process a a folder of .pict images to .jpg
It's been a long time since I used the batch feature, but I have done this process in the past (maybe years ago).
What has happened to my action sets or how i might restore them? I poked around in Time machine, but don't know enough about where to look.

Photoshop CS3 Extended 10.0.1
I have an action that works, has worked for a long time. For some reason without the action being changed, it now will not run after a break.
Â
If I run the action and do a break before it is complete, I cannot run any actions again. This is true even if a close Photoshop and then reopen it. When I try to run the action I have to restart the computer, then the actions will run.
My OS is Windows Vista 64 bit. How does one transfer actions into the correct CS6 folder from CS4?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been a long time Photoshop user and am now am moving CS6 extended (Windows version) from a PC to a Mac (CS6 Mac version) and need to migrate all of my fonts, actions, plugins and everything else from my pc to my Mac.

I have been provided a copy of CS6 for Mac by Adobe and basically need to move my entire CS6 configuration to the new platform.

I have been updting upgrading my Photoshop since the CS3 days so there is a lot of files, actions, and stuff that I do not want to loose when I move to my new platform.
like the headline says, I'm looking for a way to change the direction to which the windows in photoshop pop up. To make this clearer, I have illustrated what I want to do
Is there an option in the preferences (if so i can not find it)? Or any other way to do this?
I have a problem with Adobe Bridge opening files in PS 64 bit instead of my prefered 32 version.I took the "Typical"install when I installed Photoshop and I suppose that's why 64 is the default.
Â
Any hints for making 32 the default before I go playing with registry settings?
wats the default windows font (the one for folders etc.) is it system?
i am working on a project and need this to continue
I recently upgraded from CS6 to CC. When I open a psd file, it opens at 100%, but the window is small with scroll bars. I have plenty of screen real estate, so that's not the problem. I have looked everywhere and can't find how to make the default 100% showing the entire image.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running PSE 8 on an iMac. Is there a way to change the default dialogue / value windows to white or transparent? I'm also seeking a plug in to enable Channel manipulation in PSE. Many degraded graphics arise from problems in the green or blue channel which compromises the final RGB image.
View 3 Replies View RelatedPSE 10 isn't shown as an option in windows 8 "set your default programs". Selecting individual file types doesn't work for me much when, apart from .jpgs and .tiffs, I don't know all the file types PSE 10 can open and I want it to open everything it can. I do not want Windows 8 opening my stuff.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop CC is not among the programs listed and Windows won't let me add it to the list. Oddly, Illustrator CC is listed. How do I rectify this? I have Photoshop CS6 installed and that is listed. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just switched from PS CS5 to CC. Under CS5, the default for opening multiple images put them in separate windows. Under CC, the default appears to be to put them in separate tabs and one must select separate windows from the Window Arrange sub menu. How can I restore the CS5 default. I prefer to always open multiple images in separate windows.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLR4 will not appear in Windows 7 default programs and access as a default program to choose. Microsoft says it is becasue it does not appear in the Windows registry and to contact the manufacturer. How do I get LR4 registered in Windows 7? If I have to reinstall what do I need to do to protect my file structures, etc.?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
If you right-click an image and click "Edit" in Windows, this opens the image in MS Paint. And you can't change this. Or that's what I thought; here's how to change that to Paint.NET!
Warning: This post probably looks really suspicious since this is my first post. What the heck. Anyways, I know diddly squat about the Registry. Some tweak sites for XP mentioned this tweak (stating this key would be found at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ SystemFileAssociations \ image \ shell \ edit \ command). That exact key didn't exist. So, I searched the Registry for "SystemFileAssociations" and found the key I wrote below (in HKLM). I then took a huge risk and tried the hack. It worked, but I may have inadvertently told Windows to delete C:\Windows upon reboot.
All right, so if you right-click an image in Windows XP, Vista, or 7, there is an option in the context menu called "edit". This defaults to MS Paint and I thought that was impossible to change. Until I did some Google'ing (see Warning above). Go to this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\SystemFileAssociations\image\shell\edit\command
First, back up your registry (System Restore or regedit.exe -> File -> Export). Again, anything you do now is completely your responsibility. Then, right-click the only key in there, click Modify, and replace the path with your PaintDotNet.exe path (obviously include \PaintDotNet.exe). Don't change the quotes or the %1. Just delete MS Paint's path and insert PaintDotNet.exe's path.
When I insert a window it sets the window at a SILL height. I would like to default inserting windows at a HEAD height. Can this be done?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to use my Default Settings on another computer, so I need to find them and then copy them to the correct folder in the second computer.
Â
Second question. If I also happen to apply a Preset during Import that has some of the same Develops as my Default Settings, like Lens Corrections or Sharpening, what will happen? Will the effects be cumlative/additive/doubled or will LR only apply the effect once?
My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.
