when I use the adjust curves function, I adjust the curves until they look good, then when I render it it changes slightly. Does any one know what causes this, or how to remedy it?

A feature notably absent from the Oil Paint filter is any way to temporarily disable the effect (e.g., not preview it).I happen to like using Oil Paint to make refllections in the surface of water smoother and more "liquid" (which involves turning off the "Shine"), and it would really be nice if I could easily gauge the amount of the effect easily by blinking back and forth between original and processed image with a quick "disable preview" functionality.
With most standard filters, one can either uncheck a [ ] Preview box, and/or click the mouse button down on the image to temporarily show what the image is like without the effect.Yes, I know I can turn the Stylization down to 0.1 and see how a very minimal amount of the effect can be applied. And I can look at the original image in Photoshop proper, but of course that can't be zoomed while the Oil Paint filter is active.
Also, the zooming / panning seems kind of stiffly implemented.In summary, the more or less standard and expected filter features I'd like to see added to this (new class of) GPU-accelerated filters are:Preview/No Preview capability. It doesn't have to update Photoshop, just the preview display in the filter itself. I suggest a [ ] Preview checkbox and/or an on-mouse-click temporary effect disable.
Modal click and drag Zooming vs. Panning - i.e., based on a Zoom or Pan function selected (e.g., via an icon along the left) vs. having to hold modifier keys down. I personally would want it set to Zoom by default, not Pan. Since the filter has scroll bars (a Good Thing), I would have thought Zoom would have been a better default as it is. I have implemented these things in my own GPU-accelerated plug-ins, so I know that all the infrastructure Adobe needs to support them is already in there. These changes are controls only and should be trivial to implement.
When ever I try to use the 3D features of Photoshop, the program crashes.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am losing functions in nearly every menu in photoshop. I have tried v.8 and v.10 with the same results... I have no access to nearly every effect menu, the select menu is almost as worthless and I can't do anything on it anymore. The only way to make the function useable is to open an old file that was made back when it was working. I tried reinstalling, after that didn't work it forced me to use a company version of CS3, which has the same problem.
Does anyone know what may be going on? I don't understand what file in my computer may be doing this... If anyone has had any similar problems, please post without hesitation. This is the second photoshop forum I tried, I hope photoshop team can help .

I am running windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit and I am mainly trying to fix Photoshop v.8, but fixing this one will evidently fix v.10 as well.
I'm looking for a way to collect often needed functions to a separate - let's say - "favorite" menu.
As I mostly do beauty retouching I need "highpass", "gaussian blur", "unsharpen", "Topaz adjust" or "PTlens" all the time, (which are 3rd party plug-ins). But every single time I have to go through the menus to call the specific function.
Is there maybe already a way to collect you favorite used functions in a personally customized menu?

I have tried disabling the Catalyst A.I. and restaring PS. The video card is AMD Radeon (TM) HD 6620G. Nothing I do seems to work. I can see the 3D menu it's all grayed out and when in the 3D tab under layes, if I try to create a 3D object this is the message I get. "The 3D features require that "Use Graphics Process" is enabled in the Performace preferences. Your video card must meet the minimum requirements and you may need to check that your driver is working correctly.
I am having problems with using the rubber stamp tool while recording an action for a batch process. The rubber stamp is not being picked up by the action. Is there a way to record the toolbar functions within an action?

On the Edit drop down menu, I usually hit "edit with photoshop editor" and it takes me to the screen with all the tools, but now it does nothing. I can't get any of the tools to load.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running Photoshop CS5 Extended on a Mac OSX 10.7.3. I can not copy or align any files in Photoshop. This happens no matter what I do or how the file was created. I have tried everything and nothing seems to resolve the issues. It is not a locked layer, I have checked all my preferences and I am using all the default settings. I am at my witts end!
Basically what I have been doing is to use Fireworks but I now have to use Photoshop for a certain project.
Suddenly, Forward Warp, Bloat and all the rest stopped working. The only things that work are Freeze Mask strokes, Thaw Mask strokes and Zoom. Nothing was changed in settings except Brush size when this happened, which was: closed out of PS, re-opened the same image I had been working on... no response in Liquefy.. I then tried other BMPs, JPEGs and PSDs, all of which I had worked on before today with Liquefy. I also tried restarting the machine. Again, 99% sure no settings were changed except Brush size. Tools in the main interface are working normally.

I use PSE 10 with Camera Raw 6.6. It appears to be missing functions such as the paint brush and the ability to mask. I've tried downloading it again, but the additional functions did not reappear.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Nikon D7100. I took some test shots and imported the images to Lightroom 4.4, then generated 1:1 previews for all the images.
Previews zoomed to 1:1 in Library Mode are noticeably soft. The image below is a screen shot of the Library preview:
Moving to Develop View produces a higher-resolution 1:1 preview. The image below is a screen shot of the Develop preview:
Look at the bricks and window screens to see the difference.
This difference occurs immediately after import (with a User Preset applied during import). Once any Develop work is done, the Library preview updates and displays at full resolution.
This problem makes doing initial editing/selection of images time consuming, because I can't determine the sharpness/quality of imported images until I've done some kind of Develop adjustment on each image.
I'm trying to edit a set of titles made in Premiere in After Effects, and after I import the file (as a Premiere file) then load the sequence into the timeline; the preview is just a black screen throughout the entire preview. The titles never show up.

I recently installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 on my MacBook Pro. I attempted to select, then edit a photo that I created a while ago. All of the Edit Functions were dimmed. I confirmed that the photo was set with RGB color mode, and it is in Full/Edit mode. The primary functions that I attempted to use were Copy & Paste. I opened the same file on my iMac and it worked just fine. How I can make the Edit Functions work on my MacBook Pro?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using MacBook (late 2008) OS X 10.9.2 and recently upgraded to Lightroom 5.3 from Lightroom 4. After a while, some photo started to show exclamation mark at the right hand corner of the photo (*.CR2 raw files in NAS) in grid view. When I click on the exclamation mark, it shows a dialog with following message; "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo". So, I moved previews.lrdata, which is about 9GB, to the trash and restarted the Lightroom 5, expecting Lightroom 5 to create a new previews.lrdata. However, it won't create any preview at all.

I do not understand why whenever I go to select the rectangle/polygon(or other similar tools) sometimes-in the options bar-the path functions(subtract from area, add to shape area etc) are NOT available.
The one who is always available is the "create new shape layer".
I have been receiving advertisements for Pixio Photo Maximizer Professional 3 which claim that photographs can be enlarged without loss of detail and that it is easy to remove people/objects from photographs.
Are these functions available in CS5 and, if so, how do I access them?
i can't highlight it and thus finish scanning. The worst part is that i've tried all the buttons and screen size changes but nothing works except terminating the whole photoshop proccess and starting all over again.

After playing one of several chapters I want the DVD to return to the menu but it continues to play the remainder of the disc. I found a setting for Clip Playback that has settings of "Continue to Play the Next Clip" and "Back to Menu". I set this to 'Back to Menu" re-burn, but after playing a chapter, it still continues to play the disc and does not return to the menu.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I select "Tools - GEGL Operations..." a window with an empty drop-down list appears, i. e. there are no functions in the list (can't drop down anything). So it seems GEGL functions are not available in my GIMP.

Suppose you discover that at some point previously that you accidenetally did multiple pastings of the same thing into the same place, and suppose you go left-click then delete, then left click then delete (etc) SLOWLY, then ou can delete the offending multiple items one at a time and all is good.
HOWEVER if you try to do it too quickly it all goes wrong. It seems that the tool that was used to create the object that you are trying to delete suddenly gets selected. e.g. If it is multiple copies of the same text and you go left-click, then delete, then left-click TOO QUICKLY, then suddenly instead of being in Selector tool mode, you suddenly find yourself in Text Tool mode and find yourself deleting individual characters one at a time instead of the entire text items.
Likewise, if you find a rectangle and do left-click - delete key - left-click too quickly you suddenly find yourself in Rectangle Tool mode and the delete key no longer functions.
If there is a way to set hotkeys for the steering wheel functions like 'orbit around pivot' and the steering wheel zoom (which is different from the normal zoom).
Using the steering wheel is WAY too slow, so it would be great if it was possible to map these functions to hotkeys.
