When I select "Tools - GEGL Operations..." a window with an empty drop-down list appears, i. e. there are no functions in the list (can't drop down anything). So it seems GEGL functions are not available in my GIMP.
(Windows 7, 64bit, GIMP 2.8.2)

Using the native GIMP rotate function to rotate a rectangular image about its center (for instance) the corners of the image which are exposed by the rotation are set to RGB 0x000000 with an alpha value of 0.so that these areas are transparent.
If the same operation is performed as a GEGL operation the corners have RGB values of 0x000000 but alpha values of 255 - i.e. they are solid black.
Is there a setting to cause GEGL to use alpha values of 0 for these pixels? This also applies to GEGL operations such as shear.
I seem to be missing the stroke functions such a creating dash lines etc, I have the latest version of CS6 Illustrator but don't understand why its missing all I have is the stroke weight (see image below). At first I thought it was because of changed and the effect is no longer there but I read forums and it seems to be everywhere.

I want to edit the gradient yet when I attempt to move the sliders by clicking and dragging, nothing moves. In addition, when I right click on the gradient window, the gradient editing menu appears but I cannot get it to do anything as the end functions in the menu are grayed out.

Recently, i installed gimp 2.8 on my Ubuntu OS and found out that lot of factory installed brushes are missing. I had lot of brushes in gimp 2.6 but can't find many basic brushes in gimp 2.8.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a little logo, I write some text. When I put the text along a path, however long, the end of the text is missing. From my initial enquiry, the bigger the space I add in between letters, the more letters are missing at the end. However at times even without spacing the text is not complete. I have checked my layers, they are all to the image size, and I took a huge canevas to make sure!

I've been using GIMP for a large image file over the last few weeks. It has many layers, and the file size itself is 1.3 G. The program has crashed a number of times while working on the image, though I have never had any problem with loss of data.
I opened it today to find that only a few of the layers within the image are there. I'm missing the bulk of the file. None of the layers are hidden.
I'm watching a tutorial that was made with GIMP 2.6 and I notice there are brushes no longer included in 2.8- Is there a place to download only the brushes they took out?

It looks nice in Gimp, but when I export as PDF, it's missing some of the text. I had to keep making the font size smaller before it eventually printed to the PDF.

When I choose a tool, the value(like Brush size, Opacity...) in "Tool Option" often become blank.
By the way, if I drop the "Tool Options" out of the "Tool Box", the values appears.

How can I use this font?
Today I found out that my Gimp 2.8 haven´t a "text along path" button in the text tool dialog. I must make it via the context menu of the text layer. Why is missing that button there?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed Gimp 2.8.2, then reinstalled 2.8.4 because the Text Along Path option was missing from the Text Editor options. I was using this tool just fine in an older version so I knew the in's and out's of it then.
As you can see from the attachment, I believe I have all the necessary items in place. In other words, I have a path, which shows in the path dialog. I have text that was created after the path. In the picture, the Text Editor is currently selected while the path is showing in the dialog but the Text Along Path option is missing.
My layers dock has gone missing. According to the list in my 'Windows' tab, it claims to be open. I have looked all over the screen. I have switched on and off again etc. I have even deliberately thrown other docks off the screen to see if they come back to normal screen area if I close and reopen Gimp- and they do. so it isn't lost off screen.
I have unistalled and re-insalled and it has not come back.
1. Go to Windows>recently closed docks - Mine says 'empty'
2. File>create docks - I don't have this option- mine choices are 'new', 'create', 'open', 'open as layers', ''open location', 'open recent'... then a few which pertain to having an image open that you're working on... then 'quit'.
3. I went to Youtube and the tutorials on how to make your Gimp like Photoshop and how to get back closed windows also haven't worked.
I'm on Gimp 2.6.

I'd like to outline some text, so I went to the Text tool, entered the words, highlighted them and then looked for the button that would let me create an outline path. It's not there. Plain and simple. There's an empty space between "language: English" and the tool pre-set buttons. I checked under the paths dialog, but the option isn't there, either.
I've never used the text menu before - actually, I've just never used GIMP before. Perhaps I'm missing something obvious? I read a couple of tutorials, but none of them said that you had to do anything other than highlight the text to make the "create path from text" option appear.
I'm using 2.8 and Windows XP.

After playing one of several chapters I want the DVD to return to the menu but it continues to play the remainder of the disc. I found a setting for Clip Playback that has settings of "Continue to Play the Next Clip" and "Back to Menu". I set this to 'Back to Menu" re-burn, but after playing a chapter, it still continues to play the disc and does not return to the menu.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am losing functions in nearly every menu in photoshop. I have tried v.8 and v.10 with the same results... I have no access to nearly every effect menu, the select menu is almost as worthless and I can't do anything on it anymore. The only way to make the function useable is to open an old file that was made back when it was working. I tried reinstalling, after that didn't work it forced me to use a company version of CS3, which has the same problem.
Does anyone know what may be going on? I don't understand what file in my computer may be doing this... If anyone has had any similar problems, please post without hesitation. This is the second photoshop forum I tried, I hope photoshop team can help .

I am running windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit and I am mainly trying to fix Photoshop v.8, but fixing this one will evidently fix v.10 as well.
when I use the adjust curves function, I adjust the curves until they look good, then when I render it it changes slightly. Does any one know what causes this, or how to remedy it?

As I mostly do beauty retouching I need "highpass", "gaussian blur", "unsharpen", "Topaz adjust" or "PTlens" all the time, (which are 3rd party plug-ins). But every single time I have to go through the menus to call the specific function.
Is there maybe already a way to collect you favorite used functions in a personally customized menu?

I have tried disabling the Catalyst A.I. and restaring PS. The video card is AMD Radeon (TM) HD 6620G. Nothing I do seems to work. I can see the 3D menu it's all grayed out and when in the 3D tab under layes, if I try to create a 3D object this is the message I get. "The 3D features require that "Use Graphics Process" is enabled in the Performace preferences. Your video card must meet the minimum requirements and you may need to check that your driver is working correctly.
I understand that a pdf underlay will slow down AutoCad and its functions. My company just switched from AutoCad 2010 to AutoCad LT 2010, while maintaining the same computer and it has become astronomically slower. Is this an issue I have to deal with or is there a way to improve its efficiency?
