I downloaded Gimp the other day, but some windows where missing when opening Gimp for the first time. Left toolbar and photo window, tried to look for i but nothing.

Downloaded Gimp 2.8.6 the other day, when loading it up for the first time, there where no left toolbar and photo window. Tried to find it but nothing.

My layers dock has gone missing. According to the list in my 'Windows' tab, it claims to be open. I have looked all over the screen. I have switched on and off again etc. I have even deliberately thrown other docks off the screen to see if they come back to normal screen area if I close and reopen Gimp- and they do. so it isn't lost off screen.
I have unistalled and re-insalled and it has not come back.
1. Go to Windows>recently closed docks - Mine says 'empty'
2. File>create docks - I don't have this option- mine choices are 'new', 'create', 'open', 'open as layers', ''open location', 'open recent'... then a few which pertain to having an image open that you're working on... then 'quit'.
3. I went to Youtube and the tutorials on how to make your Gimp like Photoshop and how to get back closed windows also haven't worked.
I'm on Gimp 2.6.
opened autocad 2014 lt today and all my toolbars are gone, as well as alot of my shortcuts.

still got dashboard, palettes, design center and properties but absolutely NO toolbars.
I have just downloaded trial verion of AutoCAD for Mac, onto new Macbook Pro.
The two palettes are there on the screen left hand side, but I cannot find the classic toolbars, which I cannot work without.
When I first time use AutoCAD 2013, my Properties toolbar can be displayed by right-clicking at the pull-down menu at click on the properties. But now I could not find the properties option anymore after right-clicking at the pull-down menu. get back my properties toolbar displayed in my AutoCAD 2013.

Then I deleted the 3dsmax.ini and Trackview.ini without result. In the end I reinstalled 3ds Max2012 but nothing changed.

View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday, before I got the problem, I got the toolbox AND the other toolbox, on the left and right, excactly as how I got it in the first time I got GIMP. But the next day, all I see was a blank screen on the GIMP, I check the "Windows" menu, go to the "Recently closed docks" and said "empty", it got erased completely on the tool only. The grid level, my other files, ect. is there, but the toolbox is completely erased for no reason.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAs a new user I really prefer the single window mode but have a real problem in that every time I open a filter the window/box that open opens up underneath the single window and I cant see it without minimising the main gimp window. I've played with the preferences windows management options and seem to have all the file options curves etc on top now (these were opening under the single window at one point) but nothing I do seems to want to make the filter boxes open where I can see them - It's making GIMP quite unpleasant to use.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought Photoshop CS5 and I have a problem with HDR pro . when I am trying to mount 3 images together it act in a strange way ( the images appear and disappear many times) then when the window with the result appear and I say ok it open up in photoshop as a single image ( in the layers there is just 1 photo) and when I am trying to work it up with the Plug in/filter HDR Effex Pro (Nik softwear) a pop up window appear saying that the file is missing and the operation it is not possible.

i discoverd that when i unplug the second monitor i lose my photoshop page and i cant get it bakc unless i restart photoshop while pressing shift+cmd+alt.

AA 2012 - The REFEDIT window is missing, which means I cannot add a subtract objects while editing a block, I can save and close the block by Right Clicking menu, but the window is nowhere to be found!

I was wondering if I'm currently using AutoCAD 2010 and when I try to attach a PDF the browse file window is missing. The only thing that shows up is the option to type the location of the file on the command line. The window use to show up but I must of unknowingly clicked on a command to disable it.

I've gone back and changed the height of the windows. Now when I look in Plan (top) view, the windows I've changed the dimensions on are no longer visible.how to make these windows visible again in plan (top) view?
Note: These re-sized windows can be seen in any other perspective except Plan (top) view.
I use the Map function within Civil 3D 2012 to export municipal GIS data from shp files, for our base plans. One of the clean-up functions is to convert the text exported from GIS to an appropriate text style suitable for the project. To do this, I would select the text, use the select similar command, then update the text style in the properties window. This process has worked well when using Civil 3D 2010 and 2011, however, I have noticed in 2012 the "style" option is not available.
Not sure what I mean, have a look at the two attachments. Notice in the C3D 2012 image, there is no "style" option, while the C3D 2010 image includes the 'style" option. I submitted this bug to our reseller, who was able to replicate this error. Our reseller submitted this to Autodesk, who was also able to replicate this error. What is interesting is if I open the drawing that contains the map exported data from C3D 2012 in either 2010 or 2011 versions, the "style" option is available, just not in 2012. This leads me to believe the issue is not with the data or the export functionality of 2012, the issue is with 2012 displaying the data property. Autodesk has forwarded this issue to their developers, no indication of when or if it will be resolved for Civil 3D 2012.
My workaround for now is to use Civil 3D 2010 for the drawing cleanup functions. Fortunately I am able to have previous versions of Civil 3D installed, since I am on subscription. My advice is when upgrading, do not remove your previous versions if you are on subscription, you may need to use it one day.
I have recently installed Civil 3D 2013 and was configuring my options to how I have done so for the last few year and when I tried to change the message window font from the default Courier new to Courier I could not find said font. How to get this font or if it has been removed from 2013?

I usually edit in Full Editor mode, but normally there is an Explorer-like ribbon running across the bottom, much like the one in Express Lab. I opened PSP ProX3 today and it was gone. I'm guessing it disappeared when i did some editing for my daughter in a non-standard (for me) mode.
How do I get it back? I swear I have hunted and even RTFM'd.
I recently loaded AutoCAD Architecture 2008 and the menu tabs for File, Edit, Window etc were all missing. They are replaced with a tab that says M-Color 9.5. When i load the program with older files (from this morning) the menu tabs are there but then they disappear. How do i get them back?
Also in addition to that my toolbars are gone, but i can recover those when i have my tool bars.
I am new to GIMP.
I want to import a photo, trace geometric shapes over the photo like circles and lines, and then remove the photo. I have a very basic understanding of LAYERS. I have viewed a few tutorials. But I don't know how to import a photo or how to get rid of it once I have drawn the geometric shapes over it.
I have used PSP since version 2, so have been at it for awhile. Just upgraded to 6, as I was using version 4.
The problem I have is when I am in the edit area, and have a photo on the screen I use my mouse wheel to enlarge or shrink depending on my needs. The old version the windows box around image would also resize with image. I have attached a few images. I normal could fix this in the settings, but for some reason the window will not follow the image size as I enlarge or shrink? It does when I actually resize image, but I need this to do that when I am just using mouse wheel to make bigger or smaller on my screen.

Is there a way to reduce the percentage of view so that the image fits in the (right) window?
With multiple pictures now being tab'd at the top of the screen, I'm blind to understanding how to get them both visible at the same time. I don't see my minimize window trigger for the photo itself.

The reason for the moan is because my display is set to 110% as I like to see slightly larger text but I've had to go down to 100% because I can only see one complete digit in that tiny little window.
Is there any way to make it a touch wider so I can see two digits without a problem?

My Vista system has developed a few bugs which are not cured by Norton 360.Dragging a window causes it to maximize in a few programs PASTE does not work in some programs -- including X4 . The CROP tool stopped working in X4 but is OK in X5 High-lighting is erratic in WORD etc.
I can only run a "clean" install from my OEM disk which means reloading all applications.I was wondering if I should give up and install Windows 7.
What has been your experience with Windows 7/Did you do a "clean" install or just the update.
I can no longer 'apply a tint (one of the effects is the editor) to a photo.When I select one and click APPLY, I get a popup window that says:

Well, I use to be able to use this feature and never got that window before.

I thought my password might be wrong, so I also used the 1st popup window to request that it be sent to me... and I got a message that says:An email has been sent to you .... but I never get the email.
