I was reading one of techniques for removing blue haze from pictures.The initial two steps were as follows:
1. Click on your color burn layer 2. Select all and copy the color burn layer only to the clipboard
I have never used "color burn layer". So what "color burn layer" is and how to create it. how to creaste color burn layer.I have photoshop CS5 (with Windows 7).
could somebosdy please explain the diff. between linear dodge/color dodge and the linear burn/color burn settings of the brush tool?

I want to Color burn 2 Layers, yes I know how it should work but it does not.
I got 2 Gradients, one is somewhat red to white and the other one is grey and white mixed in a strange way (I'm just experimenting).
I got these two layers, and as soon as I create the Gray-White gradient, the whole painting is just like the Gradient and not the Color burnt with the other ones. So it ignores the mode "color burn" somehow.
I've been having a problem trying to burn a project with three movies onto a DL DVD.
The three mpegs are:
1. 2.88GB (1:05:00)
2. 2.73GB (1:01:47)
3. 2.86GB (1:04:41)
Settings are:
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio. 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)
I realize that I have a red area over the size limit for 8.5GB disk, but I've burned single layer disks with slightly higher size and the program compresses it to fit. But with this dual layer project, the burn process goes up to 97% and freezes. I've also only created and ISO file of the project, but, using ImageBurn, I find that the ISO file doesn't have the proper configuration to split the layers correctly. It tells me: "Optimal L1 Data Zone Start LBA: None Found! (VTS_01) This image has not been mastered correctly for burning onto a double layer (OTP Track Path) disc. None of the cells meet the 'DVD-Video specification' criteria for a potential layer break position."
Is there something I'm supposed to do first? Is there a step or two that I'm missing? Or does VSX2 have a problem burning DL DVDs?
I also realize that VSX2 was not designed for Windows 7, but I figured the ProPatch and Windows 7 updates were supposed to make VSX2 work on Windows 7.
With the burn tool one can use it several ways. The direct way is to just click on the tool and select whether you want highlights, mid-tones, or shadows. Each option changes the burn shade slightly. Also there are a host of blend modes which again changes the burn shade.
One can also create a burn layer and change blend modes, all with different effects. Then you can also use the brush tool and select color burn or color dodge, with the foreground color changing the shade of the burn.So all of these options give a great deal of control, but frankly I am just burned out on the process.
All I want is to have the burn deepen the color to more closely match the color in the shadows of the picture. It seems to work better on flesh and soft colors than on bright colors. In those cases I give up and resort to a brush in normal mode with color selected by eyedropper. But that can make the image more muddy as it covers up rather than intensify.
So wilh all the man-years of experience out there is there a more simple way to get the correct burn shade than going though 49 different variations? Or should I just stick with the brush and use a different blend mode?
I draw a rectangle and color it to M40Y80 in CMYK. Then draw Circle color radial fountain 80% Black & white.
Then apply Uniform transparency. Now I got problem in printing also & while making CMYK jpeg also same problem. If I convert to Bitmap CMYK same problem. but if you convert to RGB it look OK & then you have to convert to CMYK.
In CW, is there any way we want to check whether the color are legal/over burn etc..?I know there a scope indicator but not very sure how it works.

I initially thought to merge B&W and reverse adjustment layers, but read that an adjustment layer may not be the target of a merge. I want to color a photo of a brown leather shoe by switching on a color layer under it. I need this because a website script works with 2 separate images/layers. The top layer must be a transparent png of the image (the brown shoe) and the layer under this is a solid color (or more colors). This way you can color a shoe by clicking a button on the webpage.
I tried it using a white shoe on a layer, setting the opacity to 80%, than I used 'Select Color Range' to select the leather of the shoe, than I deleted this selection. This way the shoe keeps the leather look but is kind of transparent. A colored layer under it 'paints' the shoe while you still see the leather texture on it.
i'm making a new color fill layer and want to fill it with the same color like an other (already existing) color fill... how can i simply pick the color from that existing layer? or how can i set the foreground color to the collor of an existing color fill?

The color balance has the 3 sliders and I can adjust:
cyan -> red
magenta -> green
yellow -> blue
Is there a way of converting the RGB values (or CMYK values) from the swatch that is not trial and error that will tell me where to set the 3 color balance sliders to match the swatch color?

I need the script to change all 3 layers lineweight to .015mm. I have drawings that are inconsistant with layer names so layer translator and methods of that nature will not work because I do not know all the layer names and I have 100 drawings to do this to.

How do I control the color of the first entry to be color by element instead of by layer?

However, if I then bring in and place a second image into photoshop, so that now I have two layers that I'm working on, the eyedropper will not select any color on that new image. They are each grayed out and I'm only given the option to apply the setting overall. I'm thinking I must have made some kind of setting change somewhere for this to happen.
The images are RGB 8bit color mode.
If there is a way to tell Photoshop, and in a CMYK or RGB file, that I want to make all the 100% blacks in a grey scale layer a solid specified color, and all greys just percentages of that solid color? And to be able to do this without having to use spot channels or dial in CMYKs via Channel Mixer? In other words, a "one-click" method, or close to it.

I know I could enlarge the layer but that doesn't work with more complex shapes. And I don't want to use the rubber stamp tool. I have lots of images to do. The end result does not need to be detailed at all, it will be blurred. How to create this other than rubber stamp?

I added 2 screenshots. i added a red arrow to let you see the mouse pointer in the first screenshot i can drag and drop (i'm not talking about the sliders) in the second screenshot , ONLY color balance (and it's very WEIRD ) i can not drag and drop.

New Layer is created.
I use the Rectangle to cover transparent layer. It fills the color with Grey. The color that is selected in the little box at the bottom of my tool bar.I go to change the color and want to fill the color or change it to say Blue... It won't. What step am I missing to do such an easy thing?
why doesn't the color in a background copy layer change even after i've chosen a new color in the color picker and that new color shows as the background color on the tools panel? This question pertains to Photoshop cs6.
