I am beginning work on a file that is suppose to be W-600cm x H-150cm. My question is what DPI per cm must I choose ?
I have been working with business cards and other small designs on 250 DPI, but never on such a large file. I want the quality of the design to be great, what is the best DPI for such a large size ?
on my website (2hinsurance.com) I've created the costum header and put there logo whic I created with adobe photoshop cs5.1 and when I scroll down the titles of pages down of them crosses the header text.
The logo text is in JPEG format. I've tried PNG and some other formats but doesn't work. Which format I need to do the photo to make a solid background not to be crossed by anythig? I hope you understand what I'm asking?

When I go on Photoshop CS5.1 extended, and choose "3D" "Repousse" than I click on "Text Layer" it brings up a message saying this: "Your 3D scene now exceeds the limits of lights and/or textures for the video card's hardware-accelerated 3D rendering. As long as the limits are exceeded, 3D rendering will be done in software only, and some features (E.g. Repousse) will be disabled" then when I click "Okay" it brings up another message saying this: "Could not complete the Text Layer command because of a program error." then I click 'Okay' again and nothing happens, what does this mean?
My video card is: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family and is up to date.I have 64bit Operating System and my Installed Memory(RAM) is 2.00GB.
I'm trying to find out if there's a way to choose which font you want Photoshop to use as a substitution rather than it choosing on its own? I found another thread asking the same thing but the answer didn't actually answer the question. To clarify, is there a way to tell Photoshop which font to use throughout a document (or even better, all the time) as a substitute for a particular missing font?
I use tile on 95% of my jobs. It is a waste of space when I tile all vertical pictures because I do not have the choice of Tile Vertically or Tile Horizontally as on previous version of Photoshop.
I tried the different choices offered on "arrange document" and there is non with the vertical choice, unless you choose one that displays my photos some on one size and the remaining or two or three remaining, a different size to fill up the screen.
Having a rough time trying to blend a face onto another face, been watching tutorials. I have both layers selected now and I go to Edit > Auto-Blend Layers, but the option is faded and I can't choose it! What could be causing this issue?
I want to put a person as a logo in a white background. I have the person in a picture which has other things that I don't need. I only want to extract the person from the picture and being able to resize it and use it as a small logo in a background.
I have an Photoshop Elements 8, where I created a flyer in A5 size. Includes a logo and text and a background.
The print shop wants the image in PDF format to print the flyer. When I press "Save As ..." and choose to save the file in Photoshop PDF, select the image quality, fileformat (JPEG or ZIP), etc, I press the Save button. When I then go into the folder where I saved the file in there that is not there.
in PSE12 I have my own old structure in C-drive. With this structure activated, the preset with LOCAL ALBUMS disappear. So when in my own C structure I can not find and see my old albums and hence I can not add pictures to old albums. In PSE10 ALBUMS and TAGS where on the right side and very easy to work with, now I only have imported tags on my right side.
For some reason I cannot choose between Video Timeline & Frame Animation in the Timeline window. I do not know why, I've looked in the Timeline panel options, still nothing.
I would like to create an action where a user is able to choose from a particular set of patterns (created by me) and excluding all the others (that may be present otherwise) from view. My action is currently working either from choosing from the whole pattern set (using insert menu item in the action), or a single pattern of my choice. (no insert item menu used).
I want the user to choose from my set of pattern in this particular instance but not the others that are currently in the presets.
I had the idea of making the action replacing temporarily the patterns with my set (replace patterns in the drop down menu) and then reset or load the user's set at the end of the action. It made me think that maybe people wouldn't want me to mess with their presets in an action.
I am currently using PSCS4.
I can either use a new pattern layer or a new "blank layer" with a pattern overlay (layer style)
I am really looking for a spark that'll light my Eureka moment.
I was wondering whether there is any way to choose the color of the user interface. By this I mean the toolbar, layers panel, etc. NOT the background, I've already figured out how to do that. Right now the toolbar/layers panel is this light grey color, and I'd like to change it so that the entire screen is a dark grey color, just as it is in CS6.
I am using a CS6 trial on Windows 7, I can get more specs later but I can't remember anything else about my operating system (on a different computer at the moment).
I have noticed sometimes that when using a Levels adjustment layer, the drop-down to choose the different channels (red, green, blue) is grayed out, and I cannot click on it to choose the different colors. The numbers in the input & output boxes are also grayed out and I cannot type in them. The only time I have noticed this happening is directly after cropping an image. And then when I go to work on a different image and add an levels adjustment layer to it, those things are still grayed out. I have to restart the program to get it to work properly again. If I add a Curves layer, nothing is grayed out, everything works fine; it's just Levels.
When i use the pen tool to make a shape and then select fill path, i choose a colour to fill the path with, but it fills the whole page accept the shape. Is there a setting that needs turning off or anything like that!?
I have several images in my project bin, then use the Arrange icon to divide the workspace into "2 up."
There are now two images side by side.
Over the left one are several tabs, although not one for every image (they don't all fit).
Over the right one is a single tab, with the name of the open image.
How do I change which image is shown on the right?
I can change the left one by selecting the left image then double-clicking on the image I want in the project bin.If I try the same on the right, the image I double-click on goes into the left side of the window.I can't pick from tabs, because there aren't any (other than the currently open one) over the right window.
I am using PSE10 with Windows 7. I've looked at the on-line documentation and tutorials, and they don't go into details about controlling the division of the windows.
Photoshop 11 quis when I try to choose a media type from priner settings on my new macbook pro. I am using an Epson RU2000 printer, and do not have this problem on my old macbook pro.
I just upgraded my macbook pro to a new drive and 10.6, and chose 'case sensitive' HFSX, 'cause I'm a heavy command line user and wanted the maximum BASH experience.I'm trying to install the CS5 demo to try some web design tools, and the installer immediately says "Installation to case-sensitive drives is not supported. choose a different drive location to install." So case-sensitive drives aren't supported; crappy but fair enough.
The error message leads me to think that I can just choose a non-case-sensitive drive to install to, but I never get a chance to pick one - I click on the installer and it goes straight to the error message. So - how do I pick a different drive to install to? Am I just an idoit, is there no way to select a different drive, or will it not install on a system that even BOOTS from a c.s. drive, regardless of the format of the drive that CS5 is installed to?
Using photoshop elements 9, the print driver printer settings are not allowing me to choose a drop-down option for page set-up "sheet" or "media type". This is where I should be able to choose "cassette", but it's only showing me a blank drop down. I tried Espon help. I tried Adobe chat. Using a MacBook Pro 10.6.8. Just getting to the "printer settings" is buggy too, as it won't go to it until I've chosen another option, e.g. "Roll Paper Settings" first.
I have a clipart that a friend drew for me that is black and white. I scanned it, added to it and saved it as a .psd. I used a reduced size clipart to add some color. I than decided to add color to the full sized clipart using the bucket tool. The color picker will not allow me to choose any color other than blacks, grays, or white. It worked fine with the first clipart but nothing after. I tried in Elements 6 and just purchased Elements 12 hoping that would be the ticket.
When I use the gradient tool in simple depth field in photoshop element 10 my whole image unblurs even when I chose a smal area to focus. It used to work well before but for one reason or another, it stopped. I uninstalled my program and that didn't fix the problem.
Is there any way that i able to choose 2 or more layer at the same time? I am trying to change some layers , with quick select or layer merge I have to go one by one.
Rectangular Selection > Blend tool > Gradient >then pick oh, maybe Burning Transparency for example,or Tube Red -- Is there any way to choose the colors forthose gradients? To make them FG & BG Colors forexample?
When I start AutoCad, I want it to open to a dialog box that lets me choose from my folder of personal templates. I know that STARTUP = 1 essentially does this, but the interface isn't quite as user-friendly as what I see from clicking NEW with the following settings:
STARTUP = 0 Options>Files>Template Settings>Default Template File Name for QNEW = None
With these settings, AutoCad will still open its own default template: acad.dwt (or acadiso.dwt). My understanding is that renaming these files so AutoCad can't find them will force the application to show the dialog box I want, pointed to the folder I specify in Options>Files>Drawing Template File Location.
If that's so, what is the file path for finding the acad.dwt file in Windows 7?If not, is it possible to get AC to launch to the dialog I want using STARTUP = 0?
Is there any way to choose which splash screens pop up in AC?
I spend way too much time every day, every week, every year telling the program that yes, I'm aware that I've just turned off the current layer, and yes, I want the program to do what I've just told it to do, etc.
My drawing is 594x841mm. but I want to set my layout size a little bit larger, for example 665x870mm (which I received this drawings from others). but i cannot find how to set it up. the one size i can choose is ISO A0 (594x841).
