Jun 8, 2012Is there any way that i able to choose 2 or more layer at the same time? I am trying to change some layers , with quick select or layer merge I have to go one by one.

Photoshop :: Levels Adjustment Layer / Drop-down To Choose Different Channels
Jun 29, 2012I am using a CS6 trial on Windows 7, I can get more specs later but I can't remember anything else about my operating system (on a different computer at the moment).
I have noticed sometimes that when using a Levels adjustment layer, the drop-down to choose the different channels (red, green, blue) is grayed out, and I cannot click on it to choose the different colors. The numbers in the input & output boxes are also grayed out and I cannot type in them. The only time I have noticed this happening is directly after cropping an image. And then when I go to work on a different image and add an levels adjustment layer to it, those things are still grayed out. I have to restart the program to get it to work properly again.If I add a Curves layer, nothing is grayed out, everything works fine; it's just Levels.

AutoCad :: Multiple Layer Blocks
Jul 12, 2012working with blocks, I want to be able to simple turn on and off certain layers of the blocks appropriate for the work I am doing at the time. However, no matter how I construct my blocks, on what layer i made them or insert them, I can only get one layer to turn on and off freely. Is there something I am missing with blocks to get it to work more smoothly?
Example... a door block with swing and frames. When you want to hatch a floor pattern, you have to click inside and outside the swing arc to hatch, and even then... there should be a line across the frame to close the opening... I just want to turn off the door and swing line, keeping the door frame and threshold line to make hatching easier.

Nov 29, 2012I have a dwg that is converted from vectorworks with 100+ blocks of different names. All line-weight and color is set to 0.00mm and white.
I want to be able to organize multiple Block into same layer so I can color them by layer and change visibility (hide/Lock) by layer. but when I select everything to organizes "by layer" only non-block line can be organized.
Is there a way I can change multiple block into same layer without exploding them?
I try:
1. select block and change layer in properties.
Failed.
2. "set to by layer"
Problem: layer of block is still not changed when open with reference edit.

Aug 6, 2012I have a user who inadvertently changed the text contents of an mleader from "ByLayer" to 1,255,0, which is giving us some serious issues with our plotting, as we use a .ctb file for printing. Unfortunately, this error must have occurred fairly early in the project, because it is now replicated throughout the 100 page set. The text color was changed through the mtext editor, so just changing the overall properties of the mtext or leader doesn't affect the text. The only way that I know of to correct the issue is to edit each piece of text, select the contents, and change them back to ByLayer. This is going to be a real pain.
So here is the question: Is there a way to change the color of multiple pieces of mtext, without opening each and every individually?
AutoCad 3D :: Multiple Layers Moved To A Single Layer?
Jul 6, 2011I'm working on a drawing and I need to take multiple layers that I have drawn (which make up one unit) and basically merge them together so that I can replicate and move them about and place them where they need to go in the larger unit that they live in.
I tried playing with grouping in the Layers Manager, but that doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. Not sure if I'm just doing something wrong, or if there is another way to go about this.
I'm attaching my CAD drawing so you can see what I'm up to. In this drawing, there are basically two groups of layers. Those that make up the Control Tower itself, and another group for what's called a Tajimi Rack. I need to have all the layers for the Tajimi Rack made as one so that I can move that object around without having to move the layers one at a time. (There is a lot more that needs to drawn into the Tajimi Rack, but once I know how to merge them all together, I'll be in a good position to carry forward.)
I also need to know how to then take that new Tajimi Rack layer and duplicate it (I'm looking to place about a dozen of the Tajimi Racks in the control tower.
FWIW, I'm a self taught CADer. By that I mean I have to use CAD in my job but it's always done in a 2D setting where I'm simply looking through roofs with other drawings laid under for rigging purposes. I'm aware I can use quickselect but if there was a routine that would select all hatch entities on screen (multiple layers) and provide a count per layer that would be much quicker.

Mar 14, 2013I am creating multiple sheets in my drawing by adding plot layouts using templates and then adding multiple viewports to those premade templates through Autodesk. I have created multiple viewports on the one layout page and successfully was able to freeze appropriate layers to display the data I wanted in each viewport. Now with my new plot layout, all the layers again are showing, once I freeze the layers I don't want in the view port of the new plot layer....all the layers freeze in my previous plot . How do I retain my settings in the previous plot layout but continue the setup of appropriate layers in the new plot layout.

Sep 26, 2012I am working on a massive project with many x-refs. We are using an STB, along with layer states for line weights. We are plotting from a sheet file, where our, and consultants' drawings, are x-reffed in.
If we apply the layer state in the SHEET file, we will need to know all layers of our consultants. If we apply the layer state in the MODEL file, we will need vis-retain set to 0, and therefore we will need to redefine all of the layers of the x-ref to print grey every time we plot.
Can you apply plot styles around different sheets more efficiently?
Can you set an STB to look at the prefix of layers (ie. every layer starting with XXX, or every layer from a certain x-ref) be a certain plot style (ie. 60% grey)?

Depending on the user's choice the layer gets written to an external file where the layer lists get their layers from in the beginning and then adds the layer to the relevant list to use later in the program.

Nov 8, 2013I'm creating a drawing set that has over 100 sheets with varying amounts of viewports on each sheet (from one to four). Each sheet is its own file, so there is only one layout per file. For each section of the drawing set, the viewports will have the same layer state.
Is there were a way to update the layerstate of each viewport through a batch LISP routine? This would save me DAYS in opening each file, importing the layer state, and restoring it for each viewport. It seems straight forward, but I have no idea where to start with batch routines.

I know how to create a local layer filter using the code ~*|* from the new filter area in layer manager.
Ideally all I want to have to type in is: LOCAL and then the local layer filter would be created, with the filter name being Local-Layers (or similar).
AutoCad :: Choose A Template Dialog Box?
Oct 18, 2012When I start AutoCad, I want it to open to a dialog box that lets me choose from my folder of personal templates. I know that STARTUP = 1 essentially does this, but the interface isn't quite as user-friendly as what I see from clicking NEW with the following settings:
STARTUP = 0
Options>Files>Template Settings>Default Template File Name for QNEW = None
With these settings, AutoCad will still open its own default template: acad.dwt (or acadiso.dwt). My understanding is that renaming these files so AutoCad can't find them will force the application to show the dialog box I want, pointed to the folder I specify in Options>Files>Drawing Template File Location.
If that's so, what is the file path for finding the acad.dwt file in Windows 7?If not, is it possible to get AC to launch to the dialog I want using STARTUP = 0?

Sep 19, 2012Previously, I use to create sketch's on the face of the part and do holes and extrusion operations.
I use to face lot of issues as parent geomentry is visible while editing the sketch. Started to use datum planes and avoid using the face of the part to create sketchs, This is method is much better as I dont have any issue with the parent geomentry.
But, I have new problem. Please refer to the attached screen shot. When I want to create the holes in nominated centres there is no option for me to select the face of the part.. The counter bore depth starts from the sketch plane.
It would be lot handy, if there is an option to select a plane or a face for these operations. Then I can share the same sketch to create holes in different parts which are at different distances from sketch plane.

Jul 16, 2013I am not an AutoCad user but I've got an assignment that would go better if I understood a little bit about how interior designers choose colors in AutoCad.I know there are the three tabbed choices - ACI, "True Colors" and Books.My top questions are:
1) does the user choose an RGB "working space" like one would do in Photoshop or Illustrator (in other words, decide if they want to work in sRGB or perhaps Adobe RGB or ProPhoto RGB). Or is there just one possible RGB - in which case, I guess it must be sRGB.
2) is the data for making up the ACI know, so that one can translate ACI colors to their RGB equivalents?
3) I now that with the HSL model you are picking %s of hue, saturation, and lightness....but what is setting the parameters for what is possible here? Is the HSL just a picker that is overlayed on RGB?

Oct 31, 2011How to create a list of values to chose from for an iProperty? I can create a multi-value parameter and set the iproperty equal to it, then create a form that calls up the parameter...but there has to be a better way. I'd like to create a template with iProperties that are standardized. For example, we have a bunch of labs in our business. I created a custom iproperty for the labs (so that this property could be searched in vault). However, if I stop there, users will find all sorts of ways to botch the lab names. Therefore, when you run a search for a lab, you may not find all the files associated with that lab due to a mispelling. Forcing values chosen from the iProperty list would prevent this from happening.
I was hoping there would be a way to do this with iLogic forms, but you can't create a list for iProperties...at least I don't think you can.
