Photoshop :: Uninstalled And Reinstalled Program Still Crashing
Nov 6, 2012
I have the original Photoshop CS on an old Mac with OS 10.5.8. The program had been working fine for ages. Now, all of a sudden when I try to launch it the program crashes. It's defaulting to the Finder view, but I can't even close that out before the program quits. I have tried to launch it by opening a file and that does not work either.
Â
I even uninstalled and re-installed the program and it still crashed.
The PS in my CS6 wont open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, same problem, I did change a preference for storage of photos to and external harddrive because of large files prior to any trouble is all I can think off ,but if that is the problem..how do I change that preference if I can't open the program, Im on a mac 10.8, its only a month old etc ..
My Elements 9 program keeps crashing. This occurs often -- after I have edited, saved, and closed a photo image file. I then cannot get back into the Organizer. I have to shut down and restart Photoshop Elements in order to work on the next image. My operating system is Windows 7, 64 bit processor.Â
why photoshop would just crash in the middle of working or using tool or making a selection. It just stops and has an option to debug or close program and loses what you worked on since the last save and you have to restart the program.
Out of the blue, whenever I use live trace, it crashes my Illustrator and I have to force quit. I have tried all different sized jpegs, big and small, force quit.
I edited a wedding video that is over 90 minutes long (it was a wedding in Ireland). It was filmed in AVCHD on a pro video camera.
I wanted to produce a standard DVD and a Blu Ray copy to send over. The DVD copy rendered fine but the Blu Ray as well as the AVCHD file crashed every time and even crashed the computer to re-start. It crashed at around 30% in and I tried a number of different combinations to accomplish this render.
What I then did after a few attempts was to look at the last frame of the couple of files it did render to see where on the time line it was crashing.
It turned out it was on a transition I customised, I think using proDAD VitaScene. It was a transition that created a twinkling star effect from one scene to the next. As soon as I removed this one transition and it rendered a Blu Ray file with no problems at all.
One question though, I am not sure why there are so many choices of Blu Ray and AVCHD in the menu. What is the difference and which one would be the generally used one.
Anytime I import a piece of Clipart and I go to the Trace bitmap button>outline trace>line art the program freezes immediately. The diagbox doesn't even pop up, nor does it say "not responding" at the top.
I am running Win 8 but it has been running for months without a hitch. I have cleaned out temp files and reinstalled the suite and nothing happened.
I manually cancelled tons fo fonts that I previously installed in Windows/Fonts folder but Photoshop CS4 still shows the font names in the font list and I can't get rid of them..What should I do to have only available fonts in the list? Now available fonts are shown with name and sample, missing fonts just have names (it obviously can't preview them because they are not in the font folder)...
I use Photoshop CS3 on a Windows Vista and when I open the installation manager I get a message that I have to close Internet Explorer and then try again,
The problem is that Internet Explorer IS already closed!
i bought photoshop CS6 a few months ago and last month i had to get rid of things so i had my comp automatically delete downloaded files etc. didnt think it would delete paid for apps. anyway, is there a way i can recover it without having to buy it again?
I had previous thread where I asked for information on what to do about Deactivating/Reinstalling CS6. I Deactivated the program before removing it from my laptop, as I promised. URL....  I had to send my laptop back to HP for repair. They replaced my Optical Drive and did a complete System Reinstall. I got my laptop back this past Monday, May 13. I reinstalled most of my programs and some of my pictures folders. I also reinstalled my Elements 7 and everything was working great.  Problem A - On Tuesday, I reinstalled CS6 and that's when my problems started. CS6 took over all my PSE files, so I chose to "always open with PSE" option. Now all I have, instead of a nice, blue PSE icon I have a white paper with a smaller PSE icon in the center.   Here's a SNIP of what they look like:
Also, some of my fonts seem to have disappeared - now when I open a PSE file I get a msg that the font is missing and that I need to choose another font (something like that, I forgot to write it down)  Problem B - Today I was trying to open some Vector files and I couldn't find the option to make them into PNG files.  And, the Editor froze up twice! and twice I had to force-quit my computer.  Questions 1 - Why are my PSE icons showing up like a "page" as shown above? 2 - Is there a way to get my regular icon back? 3 - Where did my Fonts go and how can I get them back? 4 - Why can't I save my images as PNG? 5 - Why is CS6 freezing up?
GIMP has disappeared (uninstalled itself or by other outside entity) from my Apple Mac. I haven't noticed the exact date, but it happened at about the same time when Apple disconnected JAVA applications.
I recently bought a new computer & re-installed photoshop CS5.1 successfully, but can't get the plug ins to work (phototools 2.5 & perfect effects 3, which were a free download with purchase). I am running windows 7 64bit. I copied & pasted them into the plug ins folder (in both applications of photoshop - there is the 32 bit version on 'program files (x86)' & the 64 bit version in 'program files'), but neither will work.
Just purchased a Mac Mini and installed from disc my CS4. It is not opening any raw files taken with the Canon 50D, but will open raw files taken with Canon 20D.
This Photoshop CS4 was working fine for ALL of these files when it was installed in my old Mac Pro tower (vintage 2006). Why is it working for one group of files and not the other?
I have installed a new hard drive and reinstalled CS5 from CD. Now every time I try to download updates I get a message 'The Update server is not responding, please try again later'.
So, my laptop crashed, and I had to start again from scratch. I reinstalled Photoshop CS4 from my CD, and it loaded fine. Only now, no matter which tool I choose from the toolbar (blur, zoom, clone, etc,) it will only show the Hand (move tool?) And that doesnt even work.
I had installed the NewBlue title Ex which link one gets when one registers VS X5. Since I did not prefer the same (compared to heroglyph) i uninstalled it, but the name NewBlue Titler Ex still appears inthe drop down FX menu tab. Is there some way to remove this redundant entry?
I had a problem with a tool in my Photoshop 6.0 and decided to completely uninstall it and after that, I rebooted my system and reinstalled the program. That specific tool (paint bucket) and all others work great now. I did notice a problem afterwards though, where if I navigate to MY DOCUMENTS in the bottom toolbar and scroll through my various named folders in that vertical list, no JPEG files are visible.
Is there some kind of setting in PS I need to tweak so I can see / access them directly? The other head-scratcher is if I go to START>MY DOCUMENTS and access those same various named folders that way, ALL the jpeg files are visible. I have a Maxtor USB drive connected to my CPU and that did not want them to reappear either, if it's within Photoshop?
I own Photoshop CS3. My computer hard drive crashed so I am reinstalling everything.  I originally downloaded CS3 from Adobe and I have the product Key. I have a backup of the original Adobe files that I downloaded in 2010, on a CD. I put a copy of the files on my new C: drive and then installed the software. It installed fine, but when I open up CS3 it freezes, it shows the CS3 menus but I can't do anything else.  Is it because I didn't deactivate my old CS3?
I installed 2012 a couple of months ago and have been working with it just fine. Recently, I cleaned up my computer and uninstalled earlier versions (2009,2010,2011) . Now, I am getting errors such as:
- error initializing sheet set manager -etransmit not working
Using Photoshop Elem’7- I have had a major problem with my pc and I have gone back to factory settings, I have reloaded the Photoshop software – I can see all my photo’s back on my hard drive and also on Photoshop but I cannot retrieve my albums and keyword tags.
I have reinstalled LR4.1 to the new hard drive on my computer. Had to import all the images again, and all my LR adjustments seems gone? Mapping, keywords, rating, development adjustments etc... The old catalogues are on the new hard drive. How can I get LR to find my ajustments? Or do I have to do it all over again :S ?
I have reinstalled Lightroom 5.3 after a clean restart. All my folders on the left hand side have question marks against them. I am able to import these folders on an individual basis which is a time consuming process to say the least!! Is there any way to import them all en bloc.
Civil 3D 2010 was crashing for an employee. I uninstalled Civil 2010 and attempted to install 2011. He still has a fatal crashing error. I also removed his temp files.
