using CS2 on Windows XP. sometimes when i apply a filter, when i exit the filter dialogue - either OK or cancel - when i return to the picture, none of the tools work. space won't bring up the hand etc, and clciking on the Layer pallette, picture, anything, doesn't fix it. i manage to get stuff back by pressing every key in sight and swearing venomously at the machine,

How do we exit out of the tools (such as the background eraser) when finished using it? It stays on the screen until the item is saved.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I've been recently using Photoshop it seems that a small selection of the filter tools are not selectable on the filter menu (things such as Brush Strokes, Artistic, Sketch and Texture) even when I exit Photoshop and put it back on it still does this. However, with older works all the filter tools work and show up. Also if I was to choose a random JPEG file from my computer and open it with photoshop the filter tools are usable then also; but even when I save my work as a JPEG and open it back into photoshop as the file the filter tools still do not show up.
Also as I realized when trying to take a screen-shot, the files that do not have the filter tools showing cannot be uploaded, they come up as an errored picture when uploaded onto image sites such as 'Photobucket' or 'Imageshack',
The freeze tool is not pictured on the left with the other tools. I can access freeze by pressing the "F" key, but there is no way to unfreeze since that tool is missing as well. Only seven tools are seen now.

I made myself a graphic, currently it is black and white, and I would like to add colour to it. Now when I want to go to (Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation) it is inactive, meaning I can't click on it. Well I can click but nothing comes up of course.

However, I am not sure what I did that now both the inside and outside of the shape are greyed out and I can no longer see my vector mask as I orignally saw it. I am not sure if there is something I can do to have my vector mask again.

trying to mask a certain area of a face with another picture, so I use the quick mask tool to paint in the area, but when I exit it and enter standard mode, there is nothing selected. It does however act as if there is a selection, because the other layer only is added to that section.
Also, I don't know if this is related to the other problem, but when I move another image into the original one to create two layers, then select the overlay blending option, I am happy with how it looks. However, after adding the layer mask, the other layer is really pale around the masked area.
Any possibility that LR4 will include the ability to create Gallery Wraps without exiting to Photoshop?

I follow the same procedure for another character and it works. It works every time for a Biped without a mesh though, but with mesh its a matter of chance.

I understand that CS Live is dead, but my Illustrator CS5 seems to be always "phoning home" and making my current document inactive until I click on the Illustrator desktop. This happens any time I pause using Illustrator for just a few minutes. Is this really a CS Live issue?Is there a setting that will keep my open Illustrator document from going inactive on me?

I got this weird error on Civil 2012, I have been working with Civil products for a few years now and have never had this happen till today. Other co-workers have had the same problem which only started to occur yesterday.
The Error; Was working on a drawing with multiple layers, surfaces, alignments, assemblies, corridors, and of course point groups. The screen froze for about 2 seconds when I was attempting to hatch an object, after the quick freeze all my layers (each assigned different colors) turned on (visible) and changed color to white. Everything on the drawing became inactive except for the save button and the close button. So I saved it and closed the drawing, I had other drawings open at the same time and these were never affected (still had color and could work on them). Since the save button was still working I never lost any work that I had completed but it is still annoying having to close and open the drawing since larger drawings can take a few min to open.
Is this an Autocad issue or is it something with our machines/network?

I purchased PSP X3 yesterday and, after updating and playing around with it with no problems, when I double-clicked a video in the Organizer PSP tried to install additional stuff but failed because the PSP msi (that is momentarily decompressed during installation) was no longer in the TEMP folder.
Since I was installing it on my laptop too anyway, I "captured" the contents of the "Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X31.5.1.001" folder (in the laptop TEMP) during installation to "feed" to my copy of the desktop next time it asked to install additional stuff.
So, next time PSP asked to install something else during execution, I pointed it to the captured folder and it successfully completed.
The problem is, after this, whenever I try to run PSP I get a dialog stating Select allDetectLanguage() Failure. Exiting.and it just exits. If I re-install it becomes ok again, but I again don't have whatever feature it is trying to install halfway.
I am trying to figure out a way to exit a activated viewport that I am in. I am zoomed in on a area in the activated viewport. Well sometimes I forget to lock the viewport before I zoom in. So then I cant zoom back out and deactivate the viewport.
