Is there an Adjustment Tool or Graduated Filter Tool in Camera Raw for Photoshop Elements 12?

I have shut off my MAC and rebooted but still get this message. How can I reenable these adjustment tools??

If I paint a segment and the let go of the brush key, the brush disappears again. I have to keep repeating this if I am painting multiple parts of the photo. I have thrown away and reset the preferences for both Photoshop and Bridge, as well as repairing disk permissions on my Mac.
I have a file with a lot of moire on a child's dress and am having problems using camera raw moire adjustment tool.Â

I opened a jpeg file (not raw) in camera raw. When I use the moire adjustment brush - set to +100 - and click on the eyeglass tool in the window to see the effect - it shows a white overlay.
Â
Clicking the preview button doesn't show up any difference.I have saved several files as tests but the moire remains unaltered.

View 16 Replies View RelatedThe Pen Tool is my favorite / go to selection tool. But can it do the following...I've made a path and converted it to a selection, then filled the area with a color or texture (on it's own layer).
Now I find that I need to adjust (fine tune) the shape I've created / filled with color or texture to better fit how / where it's being used. Is is possible to invoke the path handles and get it to adjust the filled area as you move / adjust the path. (This is not a shape, not using the shape tool.)
I can select the filled path / layer and free transform but that does not give me a fine enough adjustment.Puppet Warp doesn't really fit the bill eitherA good example of what I want to achieve is similar to when you put type on a path. When you adjust the path the type moves to conform to the changes in the path. I want to do the same thing with the area I filled using the path.
this worked until yesterday. I didn't install any software on the pc or change any settings that I can think of. I'm using photoshop cs2. I've rebooted the computer several times and I've quit/restarted photoshop several times.
when I create an adjustment layer, I cannot paint black in the mask area. I can fill with black and paint white. if, after filling black and painting white, I press D (to swap foreground/background colors), I can paint, a paintbrush thing shows up in the history, but it won't change. if I press D again, and paint some more white, it shows up in white. likewise, if I choose black another way (eyedropper, setting rgb to 0,0,0), it behaves the same. likewise, if I don't start out by filling black, and I just try to paint black on the white mask, it behaves the same (doesn't work).
if I create a new layer, I can paint black on it. If I switch to the pencil tool rather than the brush tool, I can pencil black into my adjustment layer masks.
any suggestions?
or what info can I get for you so you have a good place to start?
I am fairly new to Lightroom, and the Adjustment Brush tool specifically, and I am having some problems with it! I have watched tons of tutorials on using it, and it seems relatively easy...although when I go into my program and attempt to use it, nothing happens to my photo...say if I wanted to adjust the exposure on the face of an individual, I will go in and select the tool, decrease the exposure, make the brush and feather the size I want it, and when I go to "paint" the area I want altered, nothing happens? The pins appear as if to show me that's where I started, but then no change happens to the area I attempted to paint. Do I need to select something somewhere to be able to actually use the brush to paint?Â
View 3 Replies View RelatedPSP is and has always been THE best graphics app with a truly intuitive interface and useful set of features & tools.
I have been using it for many, many years... sniffed around other products, but always returned, fully satisfied with what I can achieve. I've also written a suite of scripts to further enhance my use of it alongside my photography hobby.
HOWEVER... since Corel took it over and the start of the X series, there has been a serious and very annoying omission concerning the Crop tool. Previous versions up to v9 allowed the user to grab hold of the edges of the crop box ANYWHERE along ANY side, and drag/extend/reduce the size of the box. This allowed us photographers to zoom in to pixel level and grab any part of the visible box to adjust the crop dimensions very accurately. This is a very important feature for photographers.
The new X interface has changed the crop box to 'vector node handles' only for adjustment, which are not always visible when zoomed in. This means that instead of being able to align the box accurately to an image feature or row of pixels, you have to zoom out until you can find the nearest handle to use, or scroll up/down left/right, which either takes you away from the area you want to work on, or zoom too far out to see the detail you want for alignment.
option/preference to ditch the vector handles and grab the sides as before. I know you may think it a backward step, but you've taken away the very function that photographers need for cropping a composition, which is available in other products.

In HSL, the Targeted Adjustment Tool (TAT) works only intermittently. Sometimes it does not move the sliders at all, sometimes only a little, sometimes it works normally. Problem persists even after LR restart and exists both with Apple Magic Mouse and Wacom Pen/Tablet as input devices.
Â
This was an issue with some RCs from previous versions.Â
I updated to LR 4.3, ACR 7.3, and CS6 11.0.3 yesterday even though I'm not on a Retina MBP.
Anyway, last night I was doing some edits. Opened LR catalog, edited a RAW in PS, saved the PSD which kicked back to LR. Did some final touch up using the Soften Skin adjustment tool and when I clicked on an area of the photo to make the brush stroke, LR would crash. It did it several times in a row and I finally got it to stop by clicking on the brush tool, clicking done, then reclicking the brush tool. I have LR automatically sending bug reports on crashes.
I'm still using Lightroom 3.
Â
I'm trying to fix the exposure on the TV screen using the brush tool, and it's not doing the job at all. Even with multiple overlays of adjustments it's not changing the exposure nearly enough, and you really can't see the game at all. The white areas of the image on the screen are remaining that way and the rest is just slightly darker and becoming less saturated as well.
Â
I thought maybe LR was just not up to such a radical adjustment and that I need to use Photoshop (which I don't own), but then I tried changing the exposure on the whole photo, and taking it down to zero made an enormous difference on the TV screen, which turned out at the correct exposure, well saturated, with only a little loss of data. This tells me that the data is there in the image--so why can't I get it locally with the brush tool?
Â
After that I tried leaving the whole image underexposed and then using the brush tool to increase the exposure everywhere but the TV screen, but it stayed pretty dark.
Is there a way to specify the begin and end exposure adjustment on the gradient tool?
Â
What I really want to do is apply an even exposure adjustment to the bottom section of an image. There's a hard line where I want the adjustment to begin, so I don't really need a gradient. I know I can do this with the adjustment, but that requires passing the brush over a large section of the image and, of course, being very careful in lining the edge of the brush up with the edge of what I want to lighten. I'd like to be able to put a line across the image and say "lighten everything below this line" by x amount.
After installing LR 3.2, the first thing I noticed is that it is much slower than the previous version (using XP Pro + 3GB memory and a speedy processor).
Â
But the most terrible novelty of this version is that the Adjustment Brush is going berserk after a while:
Â
It first slows down to a crawl, so slow that it's almost impossible to work with. While working with it after a while, it starts to show random rectangular areas that are copies of other areas of the image that have nothing to do with the area I'm working on. This happens after a brush stroke. The Undo command makes these rectangular "patches" disappear. From time to time, the whole image is flipped upside down (You can't believe it? Neither could I) eventually, after a brush stroke, the sandclock mouse cursor is displayed and the program freezes (at this time it can be using over 1 GB of memory although I'm working on a single, standard EOS 5D image). The only way to stop this madness is to kill the process. The Heal/Clone tool also shows a similar misbehavior. I didn't have these problems with the previous version.
I need to automatically rezize a photoshop document by using an action. Sounds pretty simple, yes. But the thing is that the flow needs to grab the individual/specific size from ANOTHER open document (different from time to time) to be used as the target size.... I need to make the grab the target size from a variable, so to speak.
I've tried to use the crop-tool to grab size and then use select all + crop on the other document, but no. Plus loads of workarounds.
It has to be a full auto function to be run from a droplet.
This is what it will be used for:
A faksimil scan from a newspaper page needs to get a broken side like it had been ripped out by hand. A shadow on the ripped edge as usual. Easy to do by hand. But the action flow will use a "template"document holding a pre-made layermask built with the right edgelook. The Action will rezize this to fit the original faksimil dokument and apply the ripped edge+ shadow on the faksimil document in one go. By loading the selection from the layermask over to the faksimil.
While I was creating image mapping for some images, I noticed that under "Target:....", there are four different things (_blank; _self; _parent; _top) and which one will make the link to pop up in a new browser window? (like separating from my website so the visitor will still see my website, not being directed to another page, making my website "disappeared").

I'm a beginner. and i'm 49 years old. Just got 15 lessons. But i want to create and i like it very much. Sorry if my English is not so good, but it is almost 30 yaers i've written in English.
My question is: I want to make an image jump out of his frame, but how can i put a target in its own layer. If i use layer via cut, there is a hole, and that is the problem, when i want to transform the frame where the target is jumping out.
I was doing some selections and gradients and somehow 'tagged' my document.
ctrl+z wouldn't undo it either. I can't find any tool that can select or move it.
I have a screen shot below. It's the crosshair with the dot and number 1. Any one know what this is and how to delete it?
I have just purchased Photoshop CS6 and use it in conjunction with Pagemaker 7. If I import a scan in to pagemaker without photoshopping it it retains its target size. I color correct through CS6 and import it the target size is lost and it goes to an enormous size - it never did before and I've used Pagemaker and Photoshop 7 for years without this problem.

Here is what I'm trying to do. I'm duplicating a layer, then applying LucisArt to one of the layers to greatly exaggerate local contrast. Though I'm not using LucisArt as the final, I want to use it to assist in smoothing blotchy skies, banding, and finding hidden camera sensor dust spots.
I want to clone stamp on the LucisArt layer so I can watch my progress, but also have the underlying layer doing the exact clone stamping at the same time.

Problem: Transform applied to Smart Object cannot be repeated on another target.
Â
"Edit > Transform > Again" fails to transform any target after a Transform is applied to a Smart Object.
Any way to, have a source color chart, a target color chart, calculate what are the variations between them, and then use that to apply it to another image? I'm not talking about "match color", I know how that works, but is not what I'm looking for. It can be compared to switching to a custom color profile (calculated by the variation of source and target). Or something like "color lookup" (but with a custom icc/icm/lut). Creating a custom icc has been really complicated for me, and I still can't get it to work. (I have the icc profile, but can't open it nor from "convert profile" nor from "color lookup").
