I created the following design ( the first image ) but I messed with the "wave" filter settings and got this nasty burst effect on the outer edge of the "wax seal". No matter what I seem to try with the wave settings, I can't get back to the smooth "blob" shape that you see in the black and white outline below. I've tried all the combinations of generators, wavelength min / max and amplitude min/max. from the attached image .

I am trying to apply the wave filter to some type, but not sure what all the options in the dialog box are for. I do see that there is something changing in the preview box, but the image is so incredibly tiny I can't really tell what is happening. I don't see any way to increase the size of the preview box.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn the past I had created some preference settings for filter 'smart sharpen'. I always assumed that in case of reinstalling CS3, it would be possible to insert my old CS3 recepies from back-up.
But I seem to hit a brick wall;
Where does CS3 save its smart sharpen recipes?
I noticed search cannot find a recipe either by file name or inside a file.
What is the file name were filter settings are stored?
Can I just overwrite with previous CS3 preferences? (there are no custom preferences in this CS3 yet)
And is it possible to import old CS2 preferences for filters?
specific settings for a filter (Brush Strokes to be exact) but I cannot view the entire window.

I tried it the following way:
I edit my equation with latex and make a pdf.
I import my pdf in cs6.
I make a deformation of my pdf to follow the wave.
The problem with this methods is all the char are deformed and the equation is no more readable.
I really need how to make this wavy line exactly like this but bigger.

I'm using CS3 on a PC. I'm using the wave filter to distort an image. writing down all the characteristics ie, # of generators, wavelength, amplitude, scale ect. Is there anyway to recreate that EXACT wave pattern on a particular image once I've left the program? It seems to generate another algorithm even if I input the same numbers.
Also, I'm distorting an image at 72dpi as a test. When I replace the image with an exact replica at 300dpi and apply the wave distortion, I'm unable to get even remotely the same results. the wave patterns are much tighter. I've moved around all the characteristics with no result.
I've seen these all over but I'm not sure if they are created with Photoshop or some other graphics program. Any ideas?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been working on a new website and came up with something pretty clean/simple which I really like (so far anyways). I was just getting it ready to show to the client, and I ran into some trouble. Every time I go to export it (I've tried restarting it a few times to see if it helped, didn't...this is save for web btw) I get these waves of color where there shouldn't be any. Check out this link to see what i mean. I'm curious if anybody knows why this is happening, because I've tried playing with all my export settings and I haven't gotten very far. I've tried flattening all my background layers which are involved with the color, still nothing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to add progressive blur to a pic from left to right, I can do so on several layers with masks, and add more and more blur on each one.
I would like a similar effect, but with the wave filter.
For example, a straight horizontal line at the left that slowly starts waving in larger and larger amplitudes.
(the final idea is a bit more complicated, but I only want to get some initial help so that I can figure out the rest myself).
In fact: several other filters from the distort group behave the same way: apply more intense filtering to a next layer, and the beginning/end and curve doesn't fit anymore.
I tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).
In the "movie prime" setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?
camera raw filter does not show up on the filter drop list on CC. I am trying to determine why this is the case. So far everything else seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've deleted my PS preferences and restarted, and I cannot get this filter to do what is was just doing a day earlier. It doesn't matter what the foreground/background colors are, nor does it matter what the resolution of the file is. I've experimented with every variable. The filter effect changes the filled layer to a solid color of the current foreground color. No lines, dots or circles at all.
I'm trying to make lines in a filled layer, or a rasterized text layer.Adjusting the sliders has no effect at this point, but the other Gallery filters DO work, oddly enough.
I've used this filter effect many times over the years, and it just started acting wonky. This is PS CS6, on Mac OSX 10.8.5.It seems to be unpredictable or temperamental. Is there a reasonably-priced plugin that will create lines that are completely adjustable?
I have a small problem trying a wave to deform my objects properly. I have to make a "repulsion objects" project, i use several duplicate cubes and i apply to them a wave deformer. But i would like that the deformer could move just the entire objects or polygons , not the points because i want the upper face plane and the wave deform the points like i was making a jitter.
I have tested also the displacement direction of the wave with no results. Is there an easy way to make it?
I have painted a banner and now I will create an animated gif, so the banner should be waving (like in reality). I have tried it with Effects -> distort -> twist but I couldn't realize it that it looks real.

I want to know if there's a way of creating a sine wave in illustrator. I've managed to create a cosine wave by using the zig zag effect on a line and choosing "smooth". But I can't seem to find a good way to make a sine wave.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a portable audio recorder, a Zoom H1, to replace the built-in microphones on my JVC video camera. I did this to be able to improve the audio component of my finished videos. I planned on using the audio wave form display that shows up when you activate the Sound Mixer component of VideoStudio. I am recording in .wav file format, as I read previously on this board that VideoStudio works better with wave files than with MP3's. When I put the wave files onto the timeline, and activate the Sound Mixer, It says it is loading the sound data, but does not display the complete wave form info. I have tried recordings made at different qualities, with varying results, as follows:
44 Khz 16 bit - does not display any wave form data
44 Khz 24 bit - displays wave form for part of the file, but not all
48 Khz 16 bit - does not display any wave form data
48 Khz 24 bit - displays wave form for part of the file, but not all
Just for grins, I tried the same audio files in VS X4, same thing. Maybe I'll play with MP3 format files, just to see what happens.
As I mentioned above, I tried recording a file on the Zoom H1 in .mp3 format. The audio properties, as repported by VideoStudio were 44 Khz, 16 bit, 192 Kbps. This file was accepted by VideoStudio with no problems displaying the complete wave form for the complete file. Which it did not do for the .wav files created by the same recorder. I will do a complete test on Sunday, when I will try recording our church service as an .mp3 and videoing the service and see how it works with syncing the two files.

I have X4 Pro, X5 and X6 Ultimate installed on my computer; as well as, a few older versions of ULead software. I keeping getting this message: "device error. Cannot open the wave-in device" every time I try to use the microphone option in X6 to try and narrate my video.
The microphone option works fine in X5...
The trouble is I am using the track motion option from X6 in my video, so I cannot open the video in X5. Is it some sort of driver problem, or is there a corrupt file that needs replacing etc...
Any wave hatch pattern of know where I can download one. I have already been to [URL]........ but the files are only gifs.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to create a sign wave in Xara Extreme or Web Designer. I can generate it with another system I have and export that to a Graphics Stream File (GSF) or png image. Not sure if I can import either of those, though.
What I want to do once I get it into Xara is apply a color to the sine wave and fade from left to right (or vice versa).
