View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Iphoto with PSE11 but when I save the edited (JPG) image it will not let me revert to the original image. If I select the saved photo with Iphoto it will only let me re-edit it with an external editor (PSE11). This works fine but I can't "Revert to Original" in PSE11. If I try to re-edit it with Iphoto which has the "Revert to Original" button I get the message "Photo edited in an external editor so can't be edited in Iphoto. Duplicate photo to edit in Iphoto". If I do this I still cannot get back to the original unedited picture.
There is an obvious way to get round this by duplicating the original image before doing any external editor editing but there must be an automatic way which I am missing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUpon starting up 2012 MEP I was asked if I would like to convert hatches with too small a scale to solid so as to safe virtual memory. I turned this on, and now I'm noticing some runs of piping showing up as solid. I would rather not have this seemingly random solid hatch all over my drawings.
Is there a way to go revert the hatches to their original scale/patterns? I'd selected the temporary option, however whenever I open the file now it shows as shown in the picture.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter hours of work, working on an Aircraft Repaint, I somehow managed to move the template so that all of the lines (in this case the 'livery lines') became out of 'sync' In other words the layers became out of line. Went to load it into my editor and every thing was all over the place
The Q is...is there a quick way to get the template/Canvas or whatever to revert back to it's original state. i.e. everything within there parameters?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing Photoshop CS6, I opened a raw file in Camera Raw and made some adjustments. Then closed the file without opening it in Photoshop. I opened the same file in Camera Raw again and it remembered all of my adjustments. I want to reset the raw file back to its original before I made any adjustments. Is there a way to do that without having to go through each setting and changing them one by one?

I was under the impression that editing in PS from LR4 meant my original in LR4 was safe (ie: that after editing in PS, both the PS editied photo and the LR4 original would be side by side when LR4 was opened up)
However, my first foray into PS was earlier today, when I double-processed an image as instructed by Scott Kelby's book (the Adobe Photoshop CS6 book - page 52). The book covers PS (not Lightroom) and camera raw, but I thought that anything edited in PS and/or camera raw would leave my original untouched. Following Scott Kelby's instructions, I did some editing in LR4, then opened in PS as a smart object, then opened a 'New Smart Object via Copy' which I did further edits on, but this time in Camera Raw.
I now had 2 versions of the photo in PS. I then did a layer mask for the foreground object, and darkened the background of the sky etc behind it, so a sort of HDR with the 2 photos. I then followed his instructions to 'Flatten Image', and then to do a levels adjustment to brighten image.
Still following the instructions, to make the image more vibrant, I went to Mode, Lab Color, Apply Image. I chose the 'a' chanel, blending mode, then switched back to RGB Color
It didn't actually say to save file, but I just did a 'File Save in PS. The only photo in LR4 was now the PS edited one. I went to before/after comparison, but just had the finished photo with Lab Color adjustments as after photo, and before photo was the combined 2 photos after editing / layer masking, but no sign of my original.
I have been reading that you should 'copy' the original in PS, but have also read that this is not necessary if you have Lightroom, So I'm confused by this. This was the first time the book touched on photoshop, so I'm surprised there was no mentioned about saving the file. I now have about 4 photoshop books, and they all talk of camera raw workflow only
I'm using Photoshop Esentials 3.0.
I have a photo of a negative from a 35 mm camera. File "A". It's a jpg file.
I need a picture of two of these negatives side by side.
I opened file "A" and used the marque to highlight the picture and copy it to the clip board.
Then I closed the file and opened a new file "B" and made the demensions of the new file "B" the same height, but I doubled the width.
Everything copied and pasted ok and I mergered down all the layers and saved it as a jpg. file.
Here is the problem.
The new file that I created, File "B" with the two pictures side by side is only about half of the height of the original file.
I've tried everything that I know but I just can't increase the height of the new file "B" I created with the two pictures side by side.
When making adjustments to the RAW file in Lightroom I know you can use the "" key to see the before image. However, when I export to photoshop it saves a second image back into Lightroom.
When looking at this new image is there a way to flip back and forth with the original RAW??
Photoshop cc is crashing when i try to edit original photo from illustrator cc or cs6. and when i try to open photo from Photoshop it crashes again.
then i try to set my default program for all my jpegs to Photoshop cs6 and it doesn't let me do that.
So I have photoshop CS5, when I go and open a image and select it, in the preview thumbnail it shows the orignal file, without the edits but when I open the file it shows the cropped version. Is there any way I can get the original since it's showing in the thumbnail preview??

In Lightroom 5.2, where did my original RAW photo go? All my original photos are in the RAW file format.I sent the photo to Portrait Professional using "Edit a copy with LR adjustments," but didn't like the way it looked there and I discarded that.
I may have sent this photo to Photoshop CS6 in the past, I don't recall doing so, but it's possible. If I did, I didn't do much, if any, editing on it. Anyway, now in the LR filmstrip, I have a tif copy and a psd copy. The original RAW seems to be gone. It's not in the Recycle bin.
