I want to increase the image (canvass?) size in PS so that the layers size up with the image (not bothered on loss of quality as mainly text and vector shapes so should be OK).

My system windows 7 64 bit 4gb ram. It is not grouped, deleted preferences, usually work in rgb/ 8 bit channel - have same problem with all new projects.
I'm doing very complex drawing of a heating plant on a big ware house site. So I'm using two kinds of layers. I don't know, weather I'm using everything how it is to use or not, because I learned everything by myself.
The first layers are my so called "line type layers": hidden line, center line, wall, border, ... So all the different types of lines I'm using, when is start my drawing. I block all lines, which belong to one part like screws, doors, pips, engines, .. And at the end I put my "part" blocks" on my "part layers", like deashing, ash bin, boiler, building, electrical.
So lets say I have the layer "deashing", which includes several blocks like "deashing screw", "deashing drive", "deashing screw 2", .. And each block consists of several lines, which are on the layers, like "hidden line", "center line" and "black thin line", ...
And now I want to switch of everything in my drawing, which belongs to the "deashing layer" to get a better overview. So I "turn off" the layer "deashing", but I can still see it in my drawing. It just disappears, when I freeze the layer, but it should disappear, when I "turn off" the layer, too, shouldn't it?
So I hope I didn't wrote to much, but I good explanation is worth everything. So why does it not disappear or do I use the layers in a wrong way.
I have multiple effects that I want but for over 100 different pictures. Is it possible to get up a macro to have Paint.net run 9 different steps including creating multiple layers?

So, I'm only able to make a dot with any of the tools! I haven't had this much issues since I installed microsoft products.Also, there's no preference clear in this program, and I've tried the silly option + ctr+shift+ but it didnt work

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using PSE 8.0 for three or four years now, and I have never experienced any problems with it. Today, after installed a Wacom Intuos Creative Pen Tablet, my PSE 8.0 would not open-- nor would Editor and Organizer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, renaming certain files (as read in other answers), creating shortcuts to bypass the Welcome Screen (which also will not appear), among other solutions that I read about for similar problems. Whenever I attempt to open Organizer, a crash report appears, stating that the program has quit unexpectedly--that's all it says. If I try to open PSE 8 or Editor, the circle next to my cursor appears for a moment, but soon it disappears without a single pop-up or explanation as to why the program won't open. Since I cannot access the Welcome Screen, I cannot locate the Preference file to change the name/delete it. If it matters, I use Windows 7.

one transparent layer, with just a pair or eyebrows, with the only added blend effect as 'multiply'
one background with a face, no eyebrows.
the layer blends the eyebrows in to the background face perfectly.
i want to save the layer as a separate file keeping the tranparency and including the result of the multiply effect, without the background.
the reason why i want to do this may confuse things, but basically i want several different eyebrow colours to be interchangeable over this face in an application that doesn't recognise the blending link with the background, so i want to save it in PS !
it's always a tedious task to transfer my cutom UI to another computer when custom scripts are used. Here's how I do ist now:
- Save the custom UI
- Save the c:Users...AppDataLocalAutodesk3dsMaxDesign2012 - 64bitenuUI folder
- Manually collect the scripts, which are not automatically copied to the above folder from c:Program FilesAutodesk3ds Max Design 2012Scripts and
c:Program FilesAutodesk3ds Max Design 2012UI
- Manually collect the corresponding icons
Save all that stuff in the same directories on the other computer
- Load the cutom UI
All other methods I tried end up with missing scripts or icons.
Is there an easier and reliable way to do this? Right now this mainly kepps me from upgrading to new versions of Max...
I have (for the sake of argument) 2 illustrator files. One contains some vector drawings with multiple layers. I'd like to use two "versions" of that file so I'm using variables and datasets to toggle some layers and change some textfields. Now, in the other file, I'd like to link (place) to these two versions. When placing external files you can choose between several options, for example which artboard you'd like to include from a certain file, but I can't find an option for choosing which dataset (from the to be included file) I'd like to use?!? It seems to be using the one which was "active" while saving the file.
So, is it possible to include an illustrator file with a particular dataset and then the same file once more with a different dataset? And if so, how? It seems a bit redundant to duplicate the original file (with the 2 datasets) so it can be included in another one... for every change in a layer for example I would have to save the file twice? (Or more if I had more datasets)
I was aware that VS 11 had a major problem with analogue capture including Pass-through, not owning VS11 was not up to date with the exact problem and tended to steer clear of analogue capture issues. I was not aware that the later version X2 also suffered as I can capture analogue without problems.

Removed tape from camera. Set Panasonic menu to allow DV-Out. Play VHS tape and capture to X2/X3
I normally use DVD for my VHS capture, X3--DV is also available and captures ok. Using X2 Vcd Svcd and Mpeg are also available as capture formats.
As I say I did not realize the problem extended beyond VS 11.
I will be working with a company across town on a drawing set. Let's call my company CompanyA and them CompanyB. We will be colaberating on the drawing together possibly in realtime. What I need to do is to be able to xref their drawing into mine and mine into theirs and I need to be able to still make changes to my drawing and them to theirs.

When I make changes to my drawing I need to be able to save it without the attched xref so as not to nest the xrefs in a loop.
We will be working together via VPN in realtime.
Basically I need to be able to add different information into each channel including the alpha without the image being transparent at all.
Not to compare at all, but in photoshop i could work solely in the alpha channel without the RGB channels visible, then enabling the RGB channels would allow me to see the entire image without any transparency.
Basically, i want to be able to use the alpha channel for things other than transparency. For storing different masks in each channel for use in shaders.
How can I set my custom brushes so that they are available at start up? I am using Illustrator CC on a Mac OS 10.8.4
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 100mm x 100mm grid set up with 10mm divisions. I draw a box 100mm x 100mm and snap to the grid. I then put a stroke of 1mm on the box and want to resize to 120mm x 120mm. The box will not snap to the grid accurately because the box is now 118.811mm and does not know whether to snap to the top or bottom of the box. This makes for horrendous mistakes in my artwork. I need to view the size of the box as 120mm x 120mm irrespective of the stroke width. I'm on CS5.5 but have CS6 here and will install it if it's the only way to solve it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am experimenting with Annotation, trying to create annotative blocks with dynamic properties. I am having trouble with including attributes in the blocks. Basically the problem is when I modify the dynamic parameters of the block and change the scale (and annotative scale) of the viewport then the attribute gets moved out of position - the size of the text scales properly with the annotative scale, but the text position gets moved considerably out of the proper position.
Attached is an example of the problem - an annotative dynamic block of a grid bubble. There is a basepoint parameter set along the circle and a rotation parameter justified to the center of the circle. The rotation parameter is suppose to rotate the basepoint so then the block can be scaled out from the basepoint regardless of its location along the bubble.
When I am selecting items to perform a command on using a window (ie stretch) and it covers a large area that I need to pan over or to zoom into an area to ensure that I am not selecting something I shouldn't Autocad is only selecting what is currently showing on the screen. Is there a setting that I can change so that it selects everything I select regardless if it is currently being displayed on the screen?

OK I have a PNG image, black and white. I want to change it to navy and white, IOW sub 0033 for black wherever it is.
Only one prob: some of the squares are SHADES of black, and I want to sub navy for black in EVERY pixel it inhabits, however pale.
How can I do this without trying to identify and translate every shade represented? Does a filter exist for this?
Is there a way to search and replace using masks for HTML color codes or some such (don't even know how color codes work)?
Relating the .NET Developers Guide at [URL]...... regarding "Commit and Rollback Changes":
In the event that objects have been added or changes have been made (that you want to keep) it's obviously a requirement that you commit the transaction. But when simply reading information is it necessary (or even good form) to commit the transaction anyway or abort for some reason?
The Developers Guide says "If Commit is not called before Dispose is called, all changes made within the transaction are rolled back." and does not imply that committing is necessary.
I tried ALL colors there are on the generic color selector INCLUDING white!! but ALL brushes are painting BLACK and ONLY BLACK! what is wrong???
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop, if I have a layer with a style such as a drop shadow, and I click on Image > Trim, I can crop the canvas to the exact points where the drop shadow fades out. I want to do essentially the same thing in Illustrator. I have an object with a drop shadow. I select the object, double-click on the Artboard tool, and in the dialog that appears, from the dropdown menu, I select "Fit to Selected Art". This succeeds at cropping the canvas to the dimensions of the object, but but it also cuts off my drop shadow. My only solution has been to eyeball the cropping of my canvas, but I really want to be precise and automate this process.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi am trying to import a folder of vacation pictures. it has 5000 pictures and there are many subfolders. It imports them where i want but it gives me question marks on all the subfolders. And the subfolders are empty even though it tells me how many pictures are in the folder. I right clicked the question marked folders and point to where they are and it just says they are already there and do i want to merge the folders. In importing i told it to include the subfolders. I have tried this twice and each time the same results. Very frustrating to have to scroll through thousands of pictures.

I have a lower thirds composition I want to import from After Effects CC into Premiere Pro CC. While I have no problem importing the composition, I do have a problem with Premiere Pro displaying properly the blending modes I set in AE.
I've tried every blending mode... (I read somewhere Premiere Pro is only compatible with some AE blending modes.)
What appears in Premiere is a completely flat composition.
Is it possible to import an After Effects composition, including blending modes?

I am wondering if there is a way to import e.g. a table from a website without loosing the styles (CSS stylesheets). I want the table to be printable - so the resolution of a screenshot is too low.
