PhotoShop fails to save PNG image - subsequent attempts to save write 0 byte files without error message. This has reproduced on two unrelated machines so far (it was reported to me by a friend, I tried his image, confirmed it, then tried to come up with a minimal reproduction.) This is pretty straightforward - create a blank image, 8-bit indexed color or greyscale at 800x992 pixels, then save as non-interlaced PNG. I'd be interested to know if it reproduces for anyone else (or if there is a known fix, I didn't see one when I searched). Steps to reproduce:-Start PhotoShop (CS2 version 9.0.2 here)-File->New-Set a resolution of 800x992 (this seems to matter!)-ColorMode grayscale (can do this now, or load or convert any picture to grayscale or 256 colors at exactly 800x992 pixels canvas size)-Hit okay-File->Save As...-Select type PNG (any filename)-Click Save-Select None for Interlace (does not crash on Interlaced mode)-Click Ok-Get "Could not save as [file] because of a program error. (As a secondary bug, if the filename is long enough this message is cut off.)
I try to Save For Web, the whole ap closes with no error message or anything. The optimization screen comes up as normal (where you select gif, jpg etc), but when I hit Save, the whole prog just disappears!
I've searched the forums and tried the following, with no success;
Resetting the Preferences file Setting the Scratch Disc to D: (mine is a partitioned single physical drive) Clean reinstall PS Duplicating files and closing the original before renaming and saving them.
I'm running XP Pro, have 768 of RAM and using pretty modern machine - so I don't think it's a memory problem. I haven't installed SP2 but would rather leave this if necessary, cos I'm scared it'll interfere with something else.
I'm on Adobe Creative Cloud, and I recently installed Photoshop CC. Â N01 problem: It planted at various times on different files. But the big problem of the crash while recording that is created 0ko tmp file is unusable. And can not find a trace of my PSD was yet already registered.I do not remember this problem was present on the CS6, and frankly it's boring, because I lost all my work wanting tt simply record. Â N02 problem: Other problems also on CC, when opening a file CS6 on a form, direct selection tool is impossible to use it does not select the form ... forced to spend a strange manipulation page, you must click on the shape tool, click on the layer in question and re click on direct selection tool. a series of strange actions ... whereas before it worked very well.A contratio if the form was created directly in CC no worries direct selection.
Quite suddenly I'm having real problems with Save As. (I haven't installed the service pack yet, having read Foster's dire warnings).Â
Yesterday, Coreldraw crashed 3 times on saving - resulting in a lot of work being lost and an unusable file. Today I received the attached message even though there was no other 'process' or program open. Â
I have Illustrator CS4 on both Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64 platforms. Whenever I attempt to save work via save, save as, or save for web and devices, the program stalls and crashes. I have reinstalled the program and even OS to try and fix this. It works the first few times I use it then starts to save crash.
I recently updated to CC from CS6 and am having issues when working with PSDs containing video layers, or are set up as frame animations: When attempting to Save As, the dialog will be completely blank except for the Save and Cancel buttons.  If I press cancel, then return to Save As, CC then often crashes.  Here is the Error Event from Event Viewer:  Faulting application name: Photoshop.exe, version: 14.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5176451b Faulting module name: MediaCoreIF.DLL, version: 7.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x51573a21 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00000000001fca98 Faulting process id: 0x750 Faulting application start time: 0x01ce9e1925a5045b Faulting application path: C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)Photoshop.exe Faulting module path: C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit)MediaCoreIF.DLL Report Id: db6d5f8f-0a0c-11e3-9df9-0026b9cc01d1  So far I am only having these issues if I have been working with video layers and then frame animations. Frame animations in particular seem to cause instability as I can often work with video layers all day without a problem. Then if I import video frames to layers, or open a PSD containing a frame animation, the Save As may not necessarily work.  Sometimes closing and restarting Photoshop will allow me to save again, but then sometimes a whole system reboot is required. It is only temporary though.  I am not running antivirus software or other apps aside from what starts at boot.
When Saving for Web and Devices in Illustrator CS5 (15.0.2), the application now freezes and has to be force quit. Â HOWEVER if I delete the Users/~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/en_GB folder all works well until I quit the application, then the freeze will happen again. I created a new user and all was fine for that user so I transferred everything across... a laborious task. Â what has triggered this AGAIN?... Â Running: Mac OS X 10.6.6 Mac Pro tower. Â Â Note: have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated 15.0.1 - 15.0.2 have deleted all font caches have deleted everything... that could be related... Â HOWEVER have narrowed it down to the 'Adobe Illustrator Prefs' file in the Users/~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/en_GB folder too note this is not the folder permissions issue, am aware of that and have thoroughly checked all permissions, ran disk utility and disk warrior.
When I save a file as a v2000 file from v 2007, the file scans to 31% then the computer chokes. This acts exactly the same in another computer. I need to do this sometimes because the person that I am sending the file to has v 2000 only.
My AutoCAD 2013 crashed and as a result the recovered file was saved in 2013 format, instead of my automatic save profile option version set to AutoCAD 2000.
As we have other users in the office without AutoCAD 2013, how do i change the default crash save to a newer version (ie. AutoCAD 2000)?
Whenever I try to save a picture for web, as soon as I click on "Save" Photoshop closes without any warning - just shuts down! I have no idea what is causing this problem as it's never happened before.
I am facing problem while using Save / Save As / Save for web options in my Photoshop. On clicking Save / Save As commands, my photoshop gets closed abruptly and I am losing all data. If I choose Save for Web option, the file Save dialog box appears and when I click on the 'Save' button, the application gets closed abruptly. Â It was working fine yesterday. My version is bundled in the Technical Communicator suite 3.5 and I faced some problems with Adobe Acrobat, for which my IT team took support from Adobe and got it resolved just two days ago. (Case ID - 184809966)
I use autocad architecture 2013 and it works just fine until the save turns to qsave whenever i want to save a drawing by save, save as and ctrl+s it works as qsave..how can I turn it back to SAVE ?

Has anyone been able to figure out why PS3 crashes? I can not open it, it says Photoshop CS3 has stopped working. I have removed and reloaded the program and it still will not open. Can't keep production up with this,
If the file size is larger than 15MB it crashes before it opens the file.I fixed this the first time by reinstalling my OS.I fixed this the second time by moving my files from their folder to the desktop then opened it from there.I can't seam to fix this for the third time and I'm soooo frustrated. It works until it crashes then it never works again. So for instance, it worked everyday for a month, then I stopped using it for a week and came back and now it keeps crashing on files over 15MB.Here's my computer set up:Win XP SP3 ProAMD Athlong 62 x2 DualCore Processor 4200+2.20GHz, 2GB of RAM1GB NVidia GeForce 9400 GT Photoshop Error Signature:AppName: photoshop.exeAppVer: 10.0.1.0ModName: bib.dllModVer: 1.2.1.1Offset: 0000c632
Am a loyal Adobe customer. Have had PS since 1997 starting with PS 4.0. Upgraded very year up to PS CS. Then my wife became ill with breast cancer (died in 2008 from it), lost my job, lost our family home to for closure in 2010, my 20 year old son diagnosed with luekemia in 2011 (still fighting on chemo) yada yada yada.  Bottom line, I cannot afford to upgrade my Acrobat Pro, my Photoshop, my Premier etc etc etc.We sometimes don't have enough money to eat.  So my pc crashed the the other week. I just finished rebuilding using a new hard drive, Photoshp CS in installed again, and running perfectly. BUT I keep getting a need to activate alert. And can't do it.
I consistently get this crash 3-5 times a day, if not more. Happens when dragging over images from Windows Explorer and dropping into a PSD. Or if I select color picker. And random other misc. tasks that seem to trigger a crash. It's to the point where I sometimes might have 3-5 recovered PSD files. Â Windows 64, E5630, 8GB ram GPU: Quadro K2000
I use CS2; Photoshop quits unexpectedly about one minute after launch. Why? Here is the crash report: Â Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Adobe Photoshop CS2 [560] Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS2/Adobe Photoshop CS2.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Photoshop CS2 Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â com.adobe.Photoshop Version:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 9.0.1 (9.0.1x294) (9.0.1) Code Type:Â Â Â Â Â Â PPC (Translated) Parent Process:Â launchd [108] [code]....
Recently downloaded CC incl. PS, LR, BR. They all work fine except PS. As soon as I launch it it crashes. Happens in less thana second. What's going on here? Can I re-download PS?
Know it's old, but have been using Photoshop CS 8.0 on office Mac Pro and home iMac for years with no problems. OSX is 10.5.8 Leopard. Still works fine on Mac Pro, but has just started crashing at startup on iMac for no apparent reason. Graphic layout comes up and then shuts down. Reinstalled the application with same result.
I consistently receive this error at least once a week, if not daily when working in photoshop CC. Using W7-64. It is so bad that I have had to change save settings to store every 5 minutes and lose quite a bit of work.
i moved some files around in my "Documents" folder in win 8 , the next day when I restarted my laptop I got two errors about AAM Updates, so I looked into the folders that I moved around & see that a folder labeled "Adobe" that was usually in my documents folder was in the new folder where is was moving things to, so I moved it back to my documents folder.
I tried to open Photoshop & it didn't open, didn't even come up with a error, so I assume that I should check my running processes to see if maybe it is just hanging but it wasn't even running so I figure next things to dod is check my event log to see what kind of error it is leaving there. So I am left to think that I messed something up by accidentally moving that "Adobe" folder, I was wondering two things...Is there another folder that is placed in windows "Documents" folder besides the adobe folder that I may have not noticed that got moved, can someone verify what folders get placed in "Documents" folder upon installing Photoshop & other Adobe apps & second can I just repair my Photoshop install instead of uninstalling & reinstalling? Â Also it my event viewer error log it is saying something about MSVCR100.dll...maybe that is what is crashing.
I have had a problem with CS4 crashing. It does not happen at the same point of operation but it does it often. I thought I had resolved this problem recently when I discovered corrupted RAM I have replaced it. Here is the latest crash report.

I keep getting an annoying crash every few minutes when using my tablet with cs6. I'm running windows 7 64 bit. every few minutes in the middle of work I get a box popping up saying could not reference memory address click OK to close. I've tried making more memory available in preferences and also running the program as administrator but it still keeps happening. A friend of mine is also having the exact problem on his computer when using a tablet.
So when loading Adobe CS4 it quits after about 10 seconds for no apparent reason. The error is "An unexpected and unrecoverable has occurred because the point you clicked on is not inside the vector mask of a visible layer. Photoshop will now exit".why this is happening, was fine until today..Here is the Crash Report log: Â Process:Â Â Â Â Adobe Photoshop CS4 [19187]Path:Â /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS4/Adobe Photoshop CS4.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Photoshop CS4Identifier:Â com.adobe.PhotoshopVersion:11.0.2 [11.0.2x20100519 [20100519.r.592 2010/05/19:02:00:00 cutoff; r branch]] (11.0.2)Code Type:Â Â X86 (Native)Parent Process:Â launchd [246] [code]...
