I have had a problem with CS4 crashing. It does not happen at the same point of operation but it does it often. I thought I had resolved this problem recently when I discovered corrupted RAM I have replaced it. Here is the latest crash report.

I had spent my artwork for many days with so many effort and time, and it has been corrupted after a computer crash (not PSD crash). I am using Windows 7. Â -What happened after: 1 black layer (around 59 MB) -What happened before: Had multiple saves, 15+ layers (so why it is not back to the latest save?) Â I tried: Previews in PSD, Bridge, using recovery programs (none worked), hex editor, searched for temp./restore previous version files (none) how to recover this file.
Odd, and infuriating, problem. PS CS 5.5, Mac OSX 7.3 'Lion'.I was working on three small, not-complex PSD files. Each had been opened, saved, closed, reopened successfully several times. Â When loading some .AI artwork to rasterize, Photoshop CS 5.5 got hung up on the open-file dialog box. I got the spinning beachball. Not only did PS stop responding to any input, but the entire Finder did - and eventually even the mouse cursor wouldn't move. I had to force a shutdown and reboot of the Mac. Â When I got my system back up and running, I could no longer load those three files. Every time I try to load them, I get this error:'Could not complete your request because the file is empty.' Â Acorn, Pixelmator, and Preview also fail to load the files. Preview tells me they're corrupted. Acorn and Pixelmator report unknown errors.Only one of those three fiels was actually open when Photoshop froze. Yet all three files have been affected.Their filesize on disk is non-zero - 70, 105, and 70 KB (small files, I know - 300 x 250 pixels, and again, not complex). Â Duplicating the files doesn't work. Copying them to another volume doesn't work. They appear to be completely, permanently destoryed. Their thumbnails render in Finder, but the files refuse to open.Again, the files arenot huge, but they represent half a day's work.
working on a file, a sketch saved it and opened it many many times with no problems 3 days ago i looked for it but i cant seem to find it on my computer at all.i used a file recovery program just to get it back on my computer.but its now corrupted (could not complete request beacues its not a valid photoshop dcoument) .   tryed many ways to fix it its not working. im ready to try anything just tell me !i don't care if i cant edit or open the file on photoshop all i want is to be able to view it i just want to see it again! thats it.
While working on my Mac on a PBS file (just over 3GBs) it crashed while saving. Now when I open the file, it's a mesh of colors on the screen and only 1 layer and is now only 1.5GB. The file is stored on a WD Myworldbook and I have looked for a way to restore previous files but doesn't seem to be an option. There was no backup file made.
I ran into this issue when saving black and white pictures from Raw file. Camera RAw 7.3 opens normally just like always and lets me save picture in color. It lets me save picture in BW, but the JPEG tha comes out is corrupted file that looks like this (see below):
When i try to open that corrupted JPEG in Photoshop 6 I get an error message saying:"The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because ICC profile is invalid. Ignoring the profile. " Â what is causing JPEG to be saved incorrectly?
I recently transferred all my work from a work computer to my mac at home. i am unable to access my work computer until October as we are having a 'break'. However, I have a deadline for September 15th and I need all my files. Some older files open perfectly fine but I fear there was a problem in downloading-perhaps due to my haste to leave and enjoy the beautiful weather! I tried downloading a Remo Repair software but unfortunately this was unable to launch. Â Basic notes:
Created on Windows computer cs5
Trying to open on Mac cs5
Sd card used to transfer-couldn't eject, this may be the problem
My computer crashed today while photoshop CS5.1 was saving/writing to a psd file. When I started my computer back up, and tried to open the file again, It only displayed 1 layer shown as a corrupted image (As Shown Below - the Red Image). When I click on the file in the "Open" window (The Gray Image Below), the psd shows up correctly in the Preview window but doesnt show correctly when opened.
I have lost all of my layers, by the way I have worked on this psd for weeks and I need some way to recover it. I have tried "corrupted psd recovery programs", they did not work. I have tried forums - I found no answer. I have tried locating the .tmp file but it is no where to be found.
Does photoshop have a cache or a history? maybe for previously saved versions of psd files? Or does Windows 7, 32 Bit have a file recovery method? I have tried a windows 7 recovery method but it only recovers files from previous restore points that may be weeks old. This is very important that I do my best to fix this psd file or at least recover some layers, I have put in too much time and effort.
Running CS6 Basic on W7-64bit. I'm not a frequent user of CS6, mostly Photoshop Elements does all I need, but I've been reworking the CS5 Classroom in a Book exercises to refresh my CS6 knowledge. Â I've reached the exercise (page 139) where multiple images of a model are merged using File> Automate> Merge to HDR Pro... but getting a weird result in CS6 64-bit. I've tried (resetting preferences, ensuring images are displayed in tabs) but neither has worked. My graphics drivers are up to date as are all Windows updates. Â If I run the same images through Merge to HDR Pro in the 32-bit version of CS6 its perfect.
I'm getting all of my menus corrupted after using CS6 for a couple of hours. See below. . This is happening for all of my windows (Navigator, preferences, etc.) I have to close the program and re-open to fix.  Running Windows7 64-bit. 12 GB RAM with an ATI FirePro V8700 card with 1 GB on it as well. I have all of the latest drivers for the card (installed yesterday). This should be blazingly fast, and it's chugging along like my CS3 used to with 4 GB RAM. Are these issues with speed and the corruption of the menu items related?Â
Lately I've been finding that I've been having lots of corrupted image files -- many of my jpgs and even my psd's have strange bands of colour/image shifts that are permanent, and many of my tif files are now 'unparseable'.  Here is an example of this kind of corruption. Notice the bands of shifted colour and even shifted pixels:  What can be causing this? I'm worried because this is destroying my library of images. I have everything backed up to DVD which is good because I just checked and those files are fine -- so it is some sort of corruption, not software-related.
I was working on a big tif file 2g at size, I edit it with photoshop through adobe lightroom. Due to unknown reason, when i tried to save the file in photoshop, and I was informed the file is non-accessible. It ends up the file is disappeared from hardisk and I used some recovery software to retrieve the tif files. However, it seems a corrupted tif files which can't open in Photoshop or Irfanview.
the error message I got from photoshop is 'could not complete your request, because it is not the right kind of file'.. it is a tif file with layers.
I had tried to google and search, it seems there is no way to repair a corrupted tif files.
It happened already twice. I am working in one of my layers, I am changing the levels , the image in that layer gets black. I cant undo or go back in history. In the history pallette the original picture at the top goes black. If I try to save, all the layers get corrupted, with missing arbitrary squares in all of them. The first time it happens the missing areas where white, the second time they change to black. The top picture in the history pallette maches the black or white color.
The small picture in the icon in my desktop looks normal , but when open is tottally corrupted. If I have other files open, all of them get corrupted also if I tried to save.
I just installed CS4 and when I open any image it either has a weird screen over it or a bunch of triangles, some black and some from the image. Doesn't matter what type of image. I tried removing cs4, turning off virus protection and reinstalling but same problem. CS3 and Lightroom 2 work fine. Images look OK in Bridge. Running Windows Vista 32 bit, 3MB RAM, Intell Core Duo 2 CPU, ATI Radeon Graphics HD 2600 XT Processor and I did look for the latest driver update in the graphics processor. Doesn't matter at what size I view the image--it just changes the type of corruption I see.
after working with a lot of layers, masks and clipping layers my file got corrupted. That happened in the past but I always found a way to fix it buy copying uncorrupted layers to a new file. Most of the time it was just one layer corrupted. But this time is big, it looks like the whole file is corrupted.
Ok I did this graphic a few years back for a website but now my original files have been corrupted and are not able to be opened. I have lots of similar fonts like ethnocentric but it is not quite right. I have also tried uploading it to font identifier etc.
I posted here a few months ago concerning saving jpgs and that some of them were corrupted. Example would be to run an action converting 50 psds to jpgs. Anywhere from 1 to 3 or 4 be bad files. No problem with tifs or psds.
I am getting the above error message when trying to open a grd file in Photoshop CS6. I don't beleive the file is bad or corrupted. How to get the file to open?
I have recently purchased LG IPS225V Flat Screen monitor and installed CS5 trial version. But as I try to run it I get an error message that the "LG IPS225V monitor color profile is corrupted, run the calibration wizard" and then there are two buttons labelled: "Ignore Profile" or "Use Anyway". This is a new monitor and it is considered to be providing the best factory calibrated color.
I have other free editing programs like Picasa 3, Pain.net etc.
I was adding photos from a friend's file to my Adobe Photoshop album and somehow corrupted my existing photo files. I am unable to restore my original files.Â
When working in channels and need to change a 90% black to 100% black, my entire file, other channels as well, gets corrupted with ranbom blocks of black. These blocks of black can not be changed or selected.
I was working on a Photoshop CS4 file last night that was created in CS4 and has only been opened on this machine in CS4. I saved the file and closed Photoshop. When I open the file today, all my layers are gone, flattened into one Background layer, and the image looks like colored TV static. On top of that, the separate, older version of this file with a different name (created earlier in the week on the same machine in the same CS4) will not open at all - I get the error message, "Could not complete your request because the file is empty" and the file size has mysteriously shrunk to 76 KB from 20+ MB. What happened?! I'm guessing these files are corrupted beyond recovery, but why and how did this happen?
I am working on a project and i am surprised to find a strange multiply blend mode behavior. When i open a new blank document to try again the multiply behavior, all seems to work well.
Is it possible that the document i am working on became corrupted ? I work on a 2012 Macbook Pro Retina 15", Mac OS X 10.8.5 and Photoshop CC 14.1.2. Â This is what i see : Â - Normal blen mode. - Multiply blend mode.
I have a PSD file that became corrupted when the power went out in the house while in the middle of saving the the file. The PSD file itself is corrupted.
When I load it it says "Could not complete your request because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered." I have tried all sorts of PDS recovering programs and none could get the file recovered except for a BRIGHT BLUE/GREEN BACKGROUND.
When I load up photoshop 5.0 and go to select the corrupted psd file, there thumbnail DOES show up perfectly fine. However I cannot remotely see it in details because it's TINY.. Like 1/16" x 3" high.
Is there ANYWAY.. with ANY PROGRAM that will actually extract that thumbnail? All the ones I've tried online or downloaded extracts the thumbnail as just one BRIGHT BLUE/GREEN BACKGROUND.
I'd like to extract the thumbnail and have it LARGER so I can actually VIEW the contents.
So my Photoshop CS6 is slowly corrupting files. I open psds to find nothing but a giant whit wall. I zoom out and the white disappears but then I can't zoom in any further than 50%. My rulers however, show that I'm zooming in. Then when I select another layer... it snaps to % I should be looking at. (Also... this particular file won't give me a preview in the icon on my desktop. Related?) This is not happening with all my files. Just the ones surrounding this particular project.
My Photoshop crashed in the middle of saving. There's now a tmp file in its place. I tried opening it with Photoshop but it got an error. Is there any recovery program for getting back corrupted save files?
The preview of the picture still appears when I select it in Photoshop, and even appears for a few seconds in Adobe Bridge before going back to black. But nothing I tried, from restore plug ins to online retrieve systems (that tried to bring back individual layers, only accounting to a single black layer and a bunch of blank ones) worked. I'd really like to get the picture back, or at least a png of it, but I'm at loss for what to try next. I use Cs5.1 64 bits.
"extrusion file is bad or corrupted" error when a file is chosen, photoshop then "stops working" and windows shuts it down. I then have to restart to make another attempt.
I was working on a TIFF document, suddenly windows crashed. Then, when i tried to open again the file with ps,it says: " the document isn t compatible with this PS'version"..It seems to be corrupted,or damaged. How could I recover this file?
my Photoshop elements 5.0 program is corrupted and caused my computer to shut down. now when I go to my photoshop elements program 5.0, it freezes up and does not allow me to use it. I would like to un-install this program and re-install it but want to be sure I don't lose my picture files. Will I lose my pic files if I do this?
