How do I stop the Adobe Product Improvement Program prompt from coming up every time I open Photoshop CS5 on my Mac, even after I have responded that I do not want to participate? This is becoming very annoying and I have looked on line for a method to turn this off without luck.
Environment: CS6 (PS 13.0.1) Mac OS X 10.7.5. Plenty of hardware. (Generally starting with .CR2 RAW.)Recently (maybe since the 13.0.1 update??), I have been having problems with the open and save as dialog boxes.
First. The open file dialog always defaults to Enable: blank (i.e. no file types enabled). Each time I have to go to the bottom of the dropdown list and select "All readable documents" before I can open ANY type of file. I've searched in everyway I can think of looking for some method to have OPEN default to "all readable" but can't find anyway to do this. when whipping around at deadline having to stop each time and make this change is irritating. No other program has this difficulty (including Illustrator and InDesign). PS 5.5 did not exhibit this behavior on the same machine.
Second. When I save as and try to select any file format, say going from psd to tiff, the format dropdown list ALWAYS selects the format ABOVE the one I choose. Example: If I select JPEG, PS tries to save as .iff. If I pull the selection down to JPEG2000 it will then save as standard JPEG. Again just an irritant but, tiff (which I need for several other programs) is last on the list thus there is no way I can go one below it to get tiff format selected. It always comes out as png. Also note that the Format selection indicates the correct format - in the case of tiff the dialog box shows TIFF selected, but the program is appending .png. (Continuing the save as (without altering my selection) always results in the incorrect format no matter what the Format dialog says in the save as operation.) Again, no other program I work with (including several Adobe products) exhibits this behavior.
currently getting by with v11 on winXP..Having a recent problem which I hope one of you can identify. I undoubtedly caused this problem myself by while trying to set up multiple monitors with different screen resolutions, dpi's, font viewing sizes, etc... but now I don't know exactly what setting caused it or how to get back to normal.
Here's the problem - two dialog boxes are displaying very skewed as shown in the screen-shots below. It's only these two dialogs I seem to have trouble with. It's like their popup windows are wrong proportions. No settings I change in my monitor setups seem to correct the situation.
Using X6 and for some reason when i save a document as a jpg or pdf and then upload it via email attachment and or forum attachment it shows up COMPLETELY different than what the program file looks like. I design in CMYK and know monitors show RGB but i have NEVER had a issue like this when using Adobe programs but i have switched to Corel and am having this issue. What i end up having to do is take a screen shot then paste it into MS PAINT, yes PAINT and then save it as a jpg there for it to display correctly colorwise. This works for jpegs but not pdf's with multiple pages that need to be sent to my designers and printers.
The saved file looks like it should on my desktop and laptop and looks like crap on my iphone, ipad and email attachments etc on the customers end.
I have embedded the cmyk profile, tried proof colors on and off. Nothing changes it except for saving in RGB mode which throws the pdf's off as they often go directly to my printers for production.
Thought I might upgrade my PS to CC under the discount for existing owners scheme However, it won't accept that I have a suitible product despite having CS5 on my system. It is not on my products list. Six others are just not my PS products.
Put in serial number - says it is already registered - I know that - just not associated with me I guess. Deactived PS and tried again - same.
My gimp isn't starting up it says GNU Image Manipulation Program has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly Windows will close the program and notify you if the solution is available.
I have a 8800 GTX and I've got my hands on PS CS4 but apparently, all that stuff of smooth and continuous zoom in and out, capability of tossing the image is not present on my machine. This may be a stupid question but, do I need to do something on the graphics card so that it will support the GPU improvement?
I have a program (C#.NET) that opens files in a batch by using the DocumentManager.Open() method.
The first problem is , if one of the files has a macro, the vba dialogbox appears which interrupts the progress. How can I disable the macro and block the dialogbox?
Another problem is, it will take a very long time to open a file by the CAD application after processing 10 or 20 files later. I have closed the file and disposed the document object by using the Dispose() method after opening. The application looks like crashing and the memory used by CAD is up to 200~300M which is only 50~80M when the first sevral files was processed.
When I open the file.psd to edit or file.jpg (Any file type) The program will appear the dialog and then When I click "OK" to close this dialog. After that, it will appear the dialog to close program.
I could not continue to work.I must close and reopen the program. (Do not open the file.)
our office has decided to use the smart labeling for our TC elevations on street plans in addition to the FG and pad elevations - all these labels are tied directly to the surface and street centerline. It scares me a little, because if the labels themselves move slightly, their elevation changes. And, if the surface changes unintentionally then all the elevations change.
not sure if i'm posting this in the right area as it's more of a feature request. I just wanted to see what other pro users thought of it.
many a time i am trying to make a mish-mash to get some ideas flowing quickly. ok, I have a 120 x 400 document (banner or something)....and i am trying to play with some fonts or some pasted image that has to fit the height only. so if i scale the image/font up, it stretches far out to the right of the doc (about 50% or more for example) and is cut off.
now, to make the doc the right size for the *idea*, i have to resize the canvas with a little guess work to obtain the best fit and then fix the background, etc. if I change my mind...I have to do it all again, etc, etc
I am running ACA 2011 X64.I have some leaders that I copied from one drawing into another drawing.
When copied the leaders do not display their attributes. I cannot seem to figure out how to do it. I have made sure they are both in the same annotative scale and that both have the current scales loaded.
Is there are way to make the size of this dynamic, So you can drag it wider and taller, There are other boxes that seem to be frozen in size. I use this with many custom fields and it's difficult to enter data when you see what your doing.
I created a program for conversion, which converts layers and dimensions, among other things. My program runs on AutoCad 2012, had no problem with regards to AutoCad 2012. The problem is when I try to print by opening the drawing in AutoCad 2008. The preview is blank. Does some configuration that possibly I changed or I forgot to change so that it is correct?
The drawing (before) prints in AutoCad2008. The drawing (after) doesn't print in AutoCad 2008.
I recently purchased AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 and all of a sudden when I select "File", and "Open", the dialog box from which I am supposed to select a drawing file has a small "Initial View" box with a small check box to "Select Initial View". This box seems docked to the right side of the "Select File" dialog box but I am unable to select the check box. It seems to do nothing. Is this a glitch?
Currently have an iLogic rule in my drawing template that base on user input brings up the Drawing View dialog box (as though you click on base view). I want to know if there is some coding I can do to control or handle what happens if the user clicks the cancel command inside this dialog box. Possibly show a message box. Or even run another rule after the cancel button has been clicked?
I cannot share photos from my Elements 8.0 Organizer via email. The program does not recognize that I have an email program loaded. The computer is a new HP desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 operating system. My Elements 8 does everything I need except for the photo sharing so I don't really want to purchase a new version.
I recently downloaded trials of both Lightroom 2, and CS3 Extended. Since then, I have purchased box sets of each but have not received them yet. When I do, can I just type in the serial # to register the versions already on my system, or do I have to install the new versions? I am concerned about loosing the work that I have already done in Lightroom 2.
Of the Adobe products, which product would allow me to edit the photos - changing R, G and B values, changing saturations, and really allow full color control of the image using digital color count values?
I downloaded the Photoshop CS4 and CS3 trial off of the Adobe site. I uninstalled them both after i was done using them. So then i went and bought Photoshop CS3 ( i got it for a good price). So i installed it, it want fine after i finished, i clicked on it to fun it and it says product license has expired. so i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it a few times and nothing.
