CorelDRAW X6 :: Colors Not Saving Correctly As Shown In Program?

Apr 9, 2012

Using X6 and for some reason when i save a document as a jpg or pdf and then upload it via email attachment and or forum attachment it shows up COMPLETELY different than what the program file looks like. I design in CMYK and know monitors show RGB but i have NEVER had a issue like this when using Adobe programs but i have switched to Corel and am having this issue. What i end up having to do is take a screen shot then paste it into MS PAINT, yes PAINT and then save it as a jpg there for it to display correctly colorwise. This works for jpegs but not pdf's with multiple pages that need to be sent to my designers and printers.

The saved file looks like it should on my desktop and laptop and looks like crap on my iphone, ipad and email attachments etc on the customers end.

I have embedded the cmyk profile, tried proof colors on and off. Nothing changes it except for saving in RGB mode which throws the pdf's off as they often go directly to my printers for production.

CorelDRAW X5 :: Not Saving Links Correctly?

Jul 18, 2011

Having a problem with a document i created that contains instructions how to use one of our customers application, the document has an index that points to different pages but also a few urls that point to servers or into jboss application servers(long url) when i save the cdr file and export to pdf the links are not always right, the index pointing to top of page 5 now points to a https url and one of the https urls can point to top of page ...

This is rather frustrating since a simple edit requires me to verify all the links, for instance a url that points to a customer internal wiki page is correct in the cdr file but wrong in the pdf.

I have tried different settings for the pdf export but i haven't seen any difference.

I have noticed that links are changed even when i just save the cdr file and reopen it later, not all but some, seems rather random which ones.

Running windows 7 64 bit 4 gig ram, corel draw x5 is updated with sp3, the cdr file contains 29 pages at this point.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: SVG Isn't Saving Correctly

Nov 10, 2011

I have a CDR file and I tried to export it as an SVG. It's supposed to look like this:

PNG:

[URL]

But CorelDraw X4 saves it like this:

SVG:

[URL]

The main problem is that the gradient isn't centered. I'm not an SVG expert, but I played around with the XML and I couldn't get the gradient to center. Are there any settings in CDRX4 I can change, or is it possible to edit the XML to make it centered?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Pantone Colors When Saving Down To X4

Aug 31, 2012

I just upgraded to X6 from X4 about 2 weeks ago. I do all of my work in spot colors since i'm in the screen printing industry. Since not all of my clients have upgraded I still have to save down my work to X4. This is where the problem begins. When its been saved down it's creating a LOT of extra colors in the print separations. It's a lot of the same color. For instance I used black, Pantone Rhodamine Red and Pantone Yellow...when I save it down to X4 it's giving me 2 blacks, 3 Rhodamine Reds and about 10 Pantone Yellows. When I export to pdf and open in Corel X4 it doesn't do this...only when I save down. I don't want to have to export and open each time I have to send a file.

Paint Shop Pro :: PEF Files Not Shown In Correct Colors

Feb 4, 2013

I have recently purchased a Pentax K-5 ii and am taking RAW images. Originally I took DNG images but when I saw that the new service pack issued on 31st January gave new support to Pentax K-5 ii RAW format, I thought I would record in PEF.

I did this but find that the images suffer a strange color reversal: Red is recorded as Blue; Green and Yellow as Cyan; Blue as Brown and Brown as Magenta. The images appear in their correct colors in other software and on the monitor in the camera.

Photoshop :: How To Correctly Use Spot Colors

Aug 6, 2008

Using CS2, I've created one of those swooshy Macintosh Panther wallpaper images, with various layers of sweeping lines and tinted gradient arcs.

Now I want to create the image using just tints of pantone 519 but I'm unsure of how to work with pantone colours in photoshop. I've pulled up the solid coated pantone library and located the swatch, but how do I specify various tints of this colour?

I've searched the forum and come across spot channels, and have read the photoshop help entry on this, but still can't understand how to do it. From what I've read, I make a selection, then create a spot channel of the colour and set the solidity to 100%. If I want an 80% tint, I just adjust the solidity to 80%. Is this correct, or is the solidity more like transparency than tint?

In addition, how do I create a gradient between these two colours?

Final question - I have an element I want to import from Illustrator that uses the same spot colour. Do I have to deal with this any differently to the normal copy and paste as a smart object?

Photoshop :: Colors Do Not Print Correctly With Epson

May 30, 2009

I am using the Adobe Master Collection CS4, and use an Epson RX650 printer, but for the life of me I cannot get Photoshop to print what is on the screen. The prints are dark, and no where near the ones on the screen.  I am using genuine Epson Ink, and Premium glossy paper, so as to remove this issue, is this a case of my screen needing to be calibrated? I have considered buying the Spyde Studio calibrator to ensure that this is correct, (do I need to?) and I have read as much as I can about setting up Adobe to manage the print settings and colours, but still no luck. My current settings are as follows In Adobe Bridge, my creative suit color settings are set to Europe General Purpose 2The in Adobe Photoshop (version 11.0.1) I am selecting under colour management, Document Adoby RGB (1998), Photoshop handles colours, Printer profile is Epson sRGB Colour Space, Rendering intent is Relative Colourimetric, and I have ticked the following boxs, Blackpoint compensation, Match print colours, Gamut warning and Show paper white.

Photoshop :: CS5 Isn't Displaying Colors Correctly After New Monitor / Calibration

May 8, 2013

When I open JPEGS or RAW images in photoshop they have a dull, flat color to them.  This is happening after recently buying a NEW PA271W wide-gamut display and calibrating it using Spectraview 2.  It doesn't matter whether I have the Working Space in PS set to Adobe RGB or sRGB under color settings... The only way I can make my image look normal is to go under settings and ASSIGN PROFILE to Adobe RGB.  It looks fine then.  I could live with that, except the bigger problem is that I begin my editing process in RAW, where the colors are also looking flat.  The best I can tell, there is no way to assign a profile at this stage...

I've been working in photoshop many years and I do know that RAW images have a 'flatter' appearance to being with, but this is something completely different.  For example, when I slide photoshop onto my other monitor next to it (I have multiple monitors) - the color reverts to the normal color I want .  And if I then slide photoshop back onto my new NEC monitor, the normal color actually stays intact for about two seconds, then reverts back to the dull color.  So I am unable to begin my work process in RAW since the colors are wrong.  Also, I know that my new monitor is capbable of displaying my images in their proper colors because when I use any of several different image viewers I have - irfanview, etc. - everything is fine. It's only in photoshop.

AutoCAD Print / Plot :: Colors Not Plotting Correctly

Mar 15, 2012

I've just replaced all the color carts in an HP DesignJet 510 42-inch inkjet plotter.  I drew some parallel lines in ACAD 2012 to test the colors, and I'm getting weird results.  The most noticeable errors are:  Yellow prints out at a very pale green and Blue prints at purple.  Red and Cyan seem to be ok, as well as Orange... I ran a color calibration on the plotter itself and the yellow prints out a very bright, correct yellow.

GIMP :: How To Make Photo Colors Print Correctly

Feb 5, 2011

I'm a new user of GIMP 2.6.11 for OSX, and I can't figure out how to make photo colors print correctly. My printer is an Epson 2200, driver version 8.37. When I print one of my old photos from Mac Preview, colors come out the same as they did when I used this printer from Photoshop 6 on my old Windows PC. When I print the same image from GIMP on the Mac (using the Print command, not Gutenprint, and selecting photo quality and specifying the right paper, etc), the colors are too far off for a simple CY, MAG, Y level adjustment to get back to what I expect. Under image properties GIMP says the color profile of the image is sRGB IEC61966-2.1, and the image appears the same on my monitor in GIMP as it does in Preview. But it appears GIMP may be using a different color profile for printing than for display. is that possible, and if so, how can I change it?

Photoshop :: CS2 Colors Washed Out In Program

I've been using CS2 all morning, dragging and dropping images from Canon's Zoombrowser and doing minor editing. All of a sudden half an hour ago, images' colors became incorrect, much brighter and more washed out than they should be. I figure I must have hit a hotkey that changed something. I've checked through all settings I know of, and must be missing the correct one. Images are displayed correctly in other programs, including Imageready, and images that appear incorrect in PS that are resaved within PS also display correctly in other programs.

Premiere Pro :: View Two Program Monitors To Match Colors (CS6)

Mar 7, 2014

I'm trying to color match two shots and I'd like to be able to view them side by side while I adjust the colors in one of the shots. It seems like a good way to do this would be to view two program monitors side by side - but is that possible? I can't see that option anywhere.

Using the source monitor for comparison doesn't make sense to me as I've already color corrected the reference shot and the source monitor shows the original footage (ie. the wrong colors). I could of course try to match the shots based on the source footage of the reference shot and then apply a second color correction but that seems a bit unnecessary to me.

Or - I remember that in FCP7 there is  an option to use split screen while color correcting two view two shots simulatenously side by side in the same screen/monitor. Is there anything like that hidden in PPro?

Photoshop :: Windows 7 / CS6 - Getting Program Error When Flipping Foreground And Background Colors

Jul 29, 2012

Yesterday, I started getting an error when trying to set the default colors and then flipping them. I also get a program error when I try to click on the foreground color and manually assigning it with white.

This is a Windows 7 Ultimate, with PS CS6.

I closed the program twice and ran into the same problem, then rebooted and got the same errors.  As far as I can tell, this is the only tool or feature acting up, other than the actions which have this step in them.

Looking for an easy fix first, of course.  Like maybe deleting the Prefs file? Mac people seem to have to do that regularly.

But, if nothing works, will I need to uninstall PS and reinstall it? Would that also mean I'd have to install all of my filter packages again, too?

For instance I did a power clip process and it looks great on screen but the print preview does not reflect the graphic as seen in the program. The power clip is no longer clipped to the design.  In another instance I used a fountain fill on design, the design looks great on screen and in the print preview but when printed doesn't look at all like what I designed on screen.

Most of my graphics are printing fine, its just when I have applied some special techniques that I am having problems. Is due to layers possibly?....

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 :: File Sizes Not Shown Accurately In Paint

Apr 9, 2013

I was going down the list of a few thousand web photos that we use on the company site, resetting levels via the Tone Curve in Paint X3 to make them more legible and uniform, when I noticed something odd.

The filesize that Paint indicates will result from a particular jpg compression level does not match what the Windows XP file folder indicates.  Usually the discrepancy is only a couple K, but it can be much more and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.

I will load a jpg that is shown in windows as 12K, adjust the tone curve to match other product photos, then go to save, adjusting the compression while watching the Paint claim for resulting file size.  Let's say that Paint is claiming 6.7K at compression of 14.  When I actually do the save, it shows up as several K different, usually bigger - say 10K.  How is it that Paint is so consistently off in this?

GIMP :: Colors Getting Juiced When Saving As JPG?

May 25, 2011

I've decided to give GIMP a serious test drive after using Photoshop for many years. However, I've run into what I consider a fatal flaw, and after much searching can't seem to find an answer to it's probably something dumb that I'm doing. As a photographer, I shoot in RAW. Of course when I want to post pics on the web I save as a low res .jpg. Thing is, when I get a picture looking how I want (usually I'm saving the files as .psd when working on them) and then go to save it as a .jpg, when I look at the jpg saved it is VERY noticeably different from the file I'm working on. Specifically, the colors and hues get juiced to the point where it looks terrible. It almost seems like GIMP is putting it's own color curve to the files. Same thing happened saving as .png. Saving as .psd seems to save 'correctly' - i.e. no color changes or other weirdness.

After multiple searches, there be a 'feature' that I need to deactivate?
