how to add captions to a slide show (under preferences) but I would like to know if you can add the photo name to it (Besides the obvious of copying the name to the caption)? I'm using Photoshop Elements 6.0 on Windows Vista. What I need to do is take the photos, put them in a slide show, and give to a friends family so she and they can look at them and pick out which one(s) they want to print.

Now before one of you clever people suggest that most softwear does this..... they don't. What most of them do is change the duration of your slideshow to match the length of your selected music, so they all end together. I want that, but also want the photos to move and change to the 'beat' of the track. I know that I could do this manually on a timeline, but this is very time consuming and hence the ticky box option,
View 4 Replies View RelatedLots of previous photo experience, but pretty new to digital, so here's the deal. I have just learned that JPG files are somewhat unstable. Does this mean only when they are manipulated and re-saved, or anytime they are opened/closed?
So I have saved many of my best images in PSD after altering them, but my objective now is to create CD's or folders to use as different slide hows. My first attempt tells me that my laptop (new Dell XPS) doesn't "see" the PSD files, only the JPGs. So, the question ... after manipulating a file in PS, what file format should I save it in that is stable and most universally recognizable to different computers, etc?
In Photoshop 7, running XP. I was wondering if there is some way to send someone the index.html file over email & have them be able to see the slideshow by using the Automate>Web Photo Gallery option. If not is there another way to create a slideshow in Photoshop so it can be emailed & viewable without posting to a webpage? Or would I have better luck with just using a .pdf?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have briefly used 3 versions of Photo Elements (9, 10 and11) and have experienced the same problem in all 3. Scanned images are labeled Image1.jpg, Image2-###.jpg, Image3-###.jpg and Image4-###.jpg. As you noticed, the first scanned image is ALWAYS NAMED IMAGE1.jpg.

Because this is happening on every scan, Elements is giving me the message that the first scanned image in each subsequent scan is already in the catalog (as Image1.jpg). All the remaining images in the scan are sequenced without any problem.

It appears as though Elements places all scanned photos into a temp location under AppData and then enters them into the catalog after the scan is complete. The file names in this temp folder are Image1, Image2, Image3, Image4. Image2-4 have their filenames changed, but Image1 doesn't.

The easiest way I have found to fix this is to rename Image1.jpg after each scan. I have looked around Elements and have no user available procedures to fix this.I am using an Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner with Epson Scan software 3.83.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a document in publisher 07 with a photo of a product in it made from Photoshop CS3 saved as a PNG24. No matter how close I zoom in Publisher everything looks fine. When I create a pdf in acrobat using standard or high quality setting there shows white jagged edges aroung the photo. I have tried saving in a multitude of ways but cannot get those stupid jaggy edges to go away. Is it Photoshop, Acrobat, Publisher?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been learning elements 9 and when i save an edit lots of times the organizer shows it as a torn or broken photo. When i bring it back into full edit, the picture is there but sometime i get the wrong one as i can not see the photo.
The save or save as did not automaicly put in the suffix. Added that and it showed up. Maybe some one more advanced than i can collaborate that finding.
I have several thousand photos and I need to edit the names with some system that uses my time efficiently. In the past I used windows explorer, which allowed me to modify groups of titles but now I just updated to windows 7 and it does not seem to allow that. Is there some way with Paint Shop Pro to modify the names of groups of photos - extract certain characters or words, add other characters or words, etc?
Or perhaps there is a photo organizing program that provides that kind of tool?
I'm trying to zoom a photo by right clicking but the zoom icon shows only in some areas of the picture (mostly on the left side). Everywhere else, right click takes me to the next photo?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of creating 3D points (as an overlay) on some laser scanned data (using RiScan, it's just 3d dimensional data, with a northing, easting and RL) and unfortunately the only export option is to export to .dxf... Which is fine but when I export, the information has the point ID as the layer name.
I am aiming at getting this data into another program to analyse and it needs the point ID or name to be my annotation, as opposed to the layer.
So what I need is a way of converting the names of each individual points layer, to the point ID.
It was working fine. Â Then I just did a simple command (pattern a part) and the entire workspace blinked out. Â The first time it happened I hit UNDO and it was back. Â So I got out of the drawing and got back in and tried the pattern again. Same issue but this time when I hit UNDO it would not come back. Â I closed the file without saving and when I went back in the file the workspace is still nothing but white screen. Â In the browser everything is still visible except for those that I had already changed to invisible. Â I tried making an invisible to visible and nothing happened. Â I got out and tried opening the "old version" which should've been before any of this happened and it is also blank. Â I can go to an ipt or iam in the browser and hit open and it will open in another screen just fine. Â I just can't see my main assembly. Â I have Inventor 2012. Â It shows no errors or messages. Â I have even rebooted. Â
I looked thru the forum and found a past issue back in 2005 identical. Â I tried doing Find in Window on an item in the browser but for some reason that option is not even in the list when I right click.
I accidentally included a file rename when I just imported a batch of several hundred pictures. I violated a rule that I teach my own Lightroom students, and that is to look carefully at the import panel choices before proceeding.

How can I correct this so that the files are named as they originally were? I know how to easily fix the filenames in Windows (using a tool called BulkRename, for example), but then I'd have to "find" each image one-by-one and correctly point to the renamed version. I tried selecting all the images and then using F2 to rename, but none of the templates allow deleting a portion of the filename.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have, at present, set Camera Raw to open files as ProPhoto RGB and as 360 dpi. I want to keep all options open for later use of the files (for albums or enlargements). How do I get the best results so that I do not diminish the quality obtained in the scanning process (where I try to use only ICE and to leave all other editing to PS later - I know that the changes made by ICE are permanent so that I already here do not have a real RAW - but it is my impression that the choice of RAW over TIFF in the scanning is still worth it).

I have also some older scans but these are TIFF's, also 4000 dpi but only 8 bit. I want to get the best result from both types of files.

I plan to perform all edits before I finally save files in various print sizes. I am still quite scared as to make mistakes when resizing so that I get an inferior quality in the new size. I, of course, keep a copy of the original scans safe and unedited. I am also in doubt as to whether I should go directly into PS or via Camera Raw with the scans.

How do I get it to stay the size I put it at. My goal is to fade the edges and then slide it over to another picture but the whole picture slides over instead of the lasso section.
