I have a document in publisher 07 with a photo of a product in it made from Photoshop CS3 saved as a PNG24. No matter how close I zoom in Publisher everything looks fine. When I create a pdf in acrobat using standard or high quality setting there shows white jagged edges aroung the photo. I have tried saving in a multitude of ways but cannot get those stupid jaggy edges to go away. Is it Photoshop, Acrobat, Publisher?
View 1 RepliesI've saved a high res psd (300dpi) as pdf. I flattened the image before PDFing and used a JPG compression of 10. If I open the pdf from a browser, the browser version of acrobat does strange things to the image. Looks great until you scroll, then the image and text become very edgy jaggy. BUT, if I open acrobat and open the pdf, it looks great. Has it something to do with the browser version of acrobat? Is there some PDF preference or option that I'm missing?
The file also prints very well.
Looks bad if opened from a browser, good if you save it to your desktop, open Acrobat Reader and open the file.
Left - Marquee Tool > Transform > Skew
Middle - Liquify filter with "use graphic processors" selected
Right - Liquify filter without (same result)

All Transform tools cause jaggy edge. I've only tried these tools and Liquify for the last month and a half.
Uninstalled, re-installed Windows, Photoshop, graphic card - Evga 560 ti - drivers (all versions). No prevail.
CS5 works flawlessly on this system. These tools also work fine on my laptop which use Radeon HD3470.
Is there some kind of tweak I can do so that when I scan in full color, the white paper scans as white, not light blue or yellow?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using corel draw x5 and my monitor shows white as very light yellow, the only way to stop this is to change the color conversion settings to none which then turns all the colours to RGB which don't relflect the colour that would be printed.
My monitor is a Dell U2410.

I made an image for the Ironshop comp. and I made it just a tiny bit too big. I figured out the hard way that you also get quality loss when you scale an image down. My specs are 4454px. x 3345px., 61" x 46", and 72 ppi. I understand that my image should be 800px. x 600px., and Ive tried to up the pixels per inch, but it ends up very pixelated and jaggy.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to make some combined images to make jewelry for my family but when I cut out an image from one picture and paste into a new layer above a different background, my cut image has white surrounding it, even after I have gone into 1600 zoom and removed all traces of white. I think the cut image is clean then I tell the program to print preview and wow, serious white outline, how to get rid of it? It sure makes my final print really juvenile and cheezy. Solution :Here is what I did in GIMP (how to do it in PS):
Open the image
Add another layer underneath the first.
- sample the green and paint the new layer with it
Select the original and do "Alpha to Selection"
"Merge Visible Layers"
Add Layer Mask -> Selection
Apply Layer Mask
Save as PNG
- Important: In GIMP there is a checkbox option to save transparent colors. Make sure it is checked!Reimport into the SketchUp material and it should work (did for me).I want to remove all white edges , i'm okay with black edges.
