Image below shows 6 core usage during edit of an image using LR 4.2RC. Image import was running in the background. This only occurs when I use the develop module sliders (it doesn't matter which slider).Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to buy some software that you can build a photo slideshow on (that's the easy bit), but the one main feature I want is the ability to tick a box and the photos change in time with the beat of the music. Now before one of you clever people suggest that most softwear does this..... they don't. What most of them do is change the duration of your slideshow to match the length of your selected music, so they all end together. I want that, but also want the photos to move and change to the 'beat' of the track. I know that I could do this manually on a timeline, but this is very time consuming and hence the ticky box option,

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just finished watching a tutorial by Deke McClellend about setting up my workspace. He talked about the Title Bar above the palletes and it shows as dark gray in is video. He showed how he could change some of the pallets to Icons.
I don't have a title bar above my pallets. Have I turned something off?
I know he is using a Beta Version of CS3 but I have seen the Icon Palletes on someone else's machine that was not a Beta Version. In the help menu it mentions the Dark Gray Title Bar.
Ok, what I have done is created two bars, and I want to bend them so they wrap around eachother, kind of like a strand of DNA, but have absolutly no idea hot to do it. Can anyone please explain how to do this?

I was wondering if there is some way to send someone the index.html file over email & have them be able to see the slideshow by using the Automate>Web Photo Gallery option. I have, at present, set Camera Raw to open files as ProPhoto RGB and as 360 dpi. I want to keep all options open for later use of the files (for albums or enlargements). How do I get the best results so that I do not diminish the quality obtained in the scanning process (where I try to use only ICE and to leave all other editing to PS later - I know that the changes made by ICE are permanent so that I already here do not have a real RAW - but it is my impression that the choice of RAW over TIFF in the scanning is still worth it).
Â
I have also some older scans but these are TIFF's, also 4000 dpi but only 8 bit. I want to get the best result from both types of files.
Â
I plan to perform all edits before I finally save files in various print sizes. I am still quite scared as to make mistakes when resizing so that I get an inferior quality in the new size. I, of course, keep a copy of the original scans safe and unedited. I am also in doubt as to whether I should go directly into PS or via Camera Raw with the scans.

Now, I really want to know how to make this in Photoshop .
I have Photoshop cs5. I also have the Epson R1900 printer. I love this printer but if I don't print enough the heads get clogged. Any RGB color codes or a site where I can download a color bar page that would represent all eight colors of my Epson printer.
What I want to do is print a 8.5 x 11 page every few days that will use each of the print heads wherefore keeping the print heads from clogging.
I am printing on an Epson Stylus Pro 4800. I am using Photoshop CS2 (version 9.0.2)and have the Color Settings set at North American Prepress2 which was recommended for using ICC settings. I have the printer set to "No Color Adjustments" (i.e. let Photoshop control the color).
Each time I send an image to print, the printer is printing color calibration bars then ejecting the sheet. The image is printing on the second sheet. At $2.50 per sheet (fine art paper), I can't afford to waste the paper. Does anyone know how to turn the color calibration bars off. I have already checked the Output Options in the print dialog box and the calibration box is unchecked.
I have just upgraded to CS4 and am attempting to get acquainted with the new workspace options. Is there a way to maximize a floating window in Standard Screen Mode without losing the menu and title bars? I figured out how to drag images to CS4 and have them open as floating windows instead of tabs. However, when I maximize one of the images/floating windows, the menu and title bars are left out and are not visible. I would like to set the menu and title bars so that all images appear beneath them whether they or maximized or minimized.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLots of previous photo experience, but pretty new to digital, so here's the deal. I have just learned that JPG files are somewhat unstable. Does this mean only when they are manipulated and re-saved, or anytime they are opened/closed?
So I have saved many of my best images in PSD after altering them, but my objective now is to create CD's or folders to use as different slide hows. My first attempt tells me that my laptop (new Dell XPS) doesn't "see" the PSD files, only the JPGs. So, the question ... after manipulating a file in PS, what file format should I save it in that is stable and most universally recognizable to different computers, etc?
Is it possible to correct a digital image from an old scanned slide, which has been scanned back to front, using Photoshop Elements 10?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using the Nikon Super CoolScan8000 and Vuescan program to scan a slide film. I am scanning at this setting: scan resolution 4000 dpi. I have to make it a certain dimension that someone has been asking me for. They want the image at Width = 60cm (approx. 23 inches) and 300 dpi.
Â
When I scan at 4000 dpi, I'm not sure what size to make the printed width. I have experimented numerous times and I've had no luck with getting exactly what I want. It seems that when I make the width 60 cm (the height adjusts proportionately) and the dpi at 300, the quality is not that great, which it definitely needs to be because it will be printed at a large size.

PS I am using Adobe Photoshop CS3 and I also have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.
