I just received my Apple Cinema Display and I connected to a PC with Windows Vista.
The Apple Display does not have an OSD menu only a briteness (+)&(-) button on the side. If I wanted to calibrate my display with i1 Display 2 I can only use it in (Easy Mode). The reason being Easy Mode doesn't have the options for white point, gamma, luminance, contrast, rgb controls or briteness.
I am considering the purchase of a new computer. I have Photoshop CS2, and I am debating whether to get Windows Vista or Windows XP Pro. I have read in the database about Vista and CS2, "Installs and runs with minimal known issues." But it also states under Support for Windows Vista, "not officially." So I am wondering whether anyone has PSCS2 running under Vista,

I have just loaded Photoshop CS2 onto my new laptop which has Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit as its OS. All working well except I notice that,when I made adjustments to a layer (for example,using curves to colour adjust,or even just brighten midtones),it takes a long time for any change to take place to the values of colour sample points which I may have applied to the background layer. I usually place four colour sample points on my background image to monitor changes as I make adjustments. When I used Photoshop CS2 on my previous laptop which had Windows XP as its OS,changes were instant. I have the cache level set at 6 in Preferences with 70% available RAM set.

View 39 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 9 to Lightroom 5, When I moved the catalogue over, all keywords transferred, and Albums became collections. When I used Photshop Elements, I could easily sync the Albums with my Apple Tvs to display the pictures, as well as my other Apple Devices. I can not figure out how to export the collections to the Apple devices, especially the Apple TVs. There must be a way given the power of this software.

When I look in the file folder on my computer, PSD files do not have an image preview.
I checked in the preferences under "file handling" and "always save" is selected for "image previews."

I have CS6 installed on Windows Vista 64x bit. Everything is fine except for some inaccurate metadata. Camera raw v 6.7 is displayed instead of the latest installed ver 7.1. Also lens serial numbers are not shown or are missing. In lens specification f/0 shows up which of course is wrong.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two PC's running Windows Vista that I work with and both have photoshop CS3 installed, but for what ever reason on one of the PC's the Windows Photo Gallery application displays really desaturated colors when views jpg's and the like (the other PC's displays them fine).
I've googled and haven't yet found out a quality solution, lots of info on simply combining and replacing drivers and the like and nothing really set in stone from Adobe, or Microsoft etc
I saved a photo book and while I was working on it it got closed by accident. Now I cannot open it back up into the photobook program I was working on it in. I can find the "photobook" in my saved files and when I open it, it separates each page as a file so I have to open each page separately and work on them instead of having the whole book to look at and then I can flip through the pages of the photobook and decide which page to put my photo on. I have typed this into all the help systems but nothing comes up.

When we were using X4 on Vista I had no problems with the graphic distorting. Since we moved our system over to Windows 7 we have had major problems, Â sometimes when we get art work the logo's will gradually distort to the point they are unrecongizable.
Even if we try and replace the logo with a new copy the same thing will happen. I have a legit copy of X4.
Most people are telling us its because the logo's we receive are corrupted but that doesnt seem to be the factor.
I've been using Photoshop Elements 5.0 for a few years now on my PC running Vista. Beginning just a few days ago (and unconnected to any updates of which I am aware), I started getting an error when I tried to delete or import files in the Organizer. The error says: ODBC data source [Microsoft] [ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot open database "I". It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt. The photos are there - I can see them in Windows Photo Gallery. I can delete photos from there as well. Just not in Organizer. Wondered if anyone might be able to point me in a good direction for a fix?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy colleague and myself have a problem with the font Lucida in the header of a plan we designed. He's running Windows Vista and I am running Windows 7. I designed the header, but now he has to make some additional plans with that same header but if he opens the file with that header, strangely enough the font Lucida he uses is not exactly the same as the one I've used although the properties show they're all the same. Another colleague with Windows 7 has no problem with it. As you can see in the attachments I've added, the '1' is not exactly the same as well as the '-' so texts don't fit the boxes they're in anymore. We also can't really alter the font, seeing as Lucida is the font our client uses and requires for this project. We've tried overwriting my colleague's font by my LUCIDA-font in the location C:WindowsFonts but this didn't resolve the problem either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a serious problem when hatching in AutoCAD LT 2011, it's making my PC hang but only when I'm using the 'Add: Pick points' command. It's so bad that I can't even call up the task manager to stop the process and I have to switch it off and on again to get it working.
I've never encountered this before with earlier versions of AutoCAD, is there a way around this? It's driving me nuts!

Since opening my most recent backup file I think I may have found the cause.
I had inserted a .jpg image (150 x 150 @ 8KB) that I was using to trace around it and it was these tracings that I tried to hatch. I have since deleted the image and now the hatching causes no problems.
I am working with "photoshop cs3" "windows ultimate vista" and an "wacom intuos 3" tablet and I experience heavy lags while drawing like the brush-strokes don't quite follow my moves, and I have to wait for them to catch up.
When I open a large file and I try to apply the first brush stroke on my drawing the cursor screen disappears for a while and photoshop is not responding. Then Photoshop comes back so the cursor and I can start to work. But as soon as I drag the page using the little Hand tool photoshop stops responding again for few more seconds and when it restarts I can hardly control the direction of my new brush strokes.
Apparently in order to restart the only remedy I found (by chance) is by toggling the layer visibility status (change a layer from visible to not and back to visible again). After this exercise I can draw in photoshop again! But of course same problems again as soon as I will use the hand tool and move on the screen again!
I tried to install Photoshop 7.0 on my laptop with vista home premium. When Photoshop was almost installed, the setup said he was ready but the setup screen didn't went away. I closed the screen.
when I tried to open Photoshop then, the program starts normal but before you can do something there's a report saying: 'couldn't execute your request because of missing or invalid personalisation-information' (this is not perfect because I tried to translate it from dutch)
So, the program doesn't start. After this, I tried to remove Photoshop from the laptop but he says there's a log error and they can't remove Photoshop.
I have consequently a program that doesn't work and that I can't remove.
Is there a solution?
When I installed Photoshop I used another name than the name of the computer, maybe vista doesn't accept this? Normally, you can do that, but I didn't do something like that on vista. If that's the problem, how can you change that name if the program doesn't start normally?
