View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a project going with a church to create artwork that will be printed on vinyl wallpaper. So the artwork has to be done large and in high resolutions to insure its sharp when printed out that large. So my files are huge, and my old computer, a Pentium 3 system, couldn't handle it all. Untill I could get a new computer, my mom let me borrow her notebook (XP, Pentium 4, 2gig memory) to do the work on. I installed CS3 and my Wacom Intuos3 pen tablet on it, and besides the fact that it took my files 5 to 10 minutes to open, it worked well. I bought my new computer through ibuypower.com in October. Its a 3ghz Core 2 Duo, 4 gig of memory, Geforce 8800GTX system running Vista. After I installed CS3 and my pen tablet things seemed to be good at first. My files open much faster on it, no more than a few minutes now. But once I got around to creating new work on the computer, I noticed that my pen tablet was not as responsive as it was on the notebook. It works fine about 50% of the time, but the other half the time its really laggy. I'll start drawing, and the new line will stop rendering untill I stop drawing, and then it catches up. As you might guess, drawing blind like that is no good and I usually have to redo it untill it starts running the way it should. Now initially I thought I may not have the current Vista drivers for my pen tablet, but that wasn't the case. Then I started doing some work that didn't require the pen tablet, and I noticed that I have the same problem with the mouse. So the problem isn't the pen tablet at all. Its got to be how CS3 runs under Vista. It was running fine under XP on my moms Pentium 4 notebook, but not good on my superior new computer. Has anyone else here had similar problems? I've heard that Vista is a memory hog, so what are my options? I've considered dual booting, or even just going back to XP, but I'd rather not do anything that drastic untill I know I have no other options.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis haunts our users since we migrated to Vista. When Photoshop CS2/CS3 is running under Vista the ESCAPE key does not work correctly with other programs. When PS is running, the escape key works only when pressing SHIFT+ESC together. This is extremely annoying when multiple programs are used, what could be the root of the problem?
View 84 Replies View RelatedI am considering the purchase of a new computer. I have Photoshop CS2, and I am debating whether to get Windows Vista or Windows XP Pro. I have read in the database about Vista and CS2, "Installs and runs with minimal known issues." But it also states under Support for Windows Vista, "not officially." So I am wondering whether anyone has PSCS2 running under Vista,

Is this program compatible with windows vista also?
I have just loaded Photoshop CS2 onto my new laptop which has Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit as its OS. All working well except I notice that, when I made adjustments to a layer (for example, using curves to colour adjust,or even just brighten midtones),it takes a long time for any change to take place to the values of colour sample points which I may have applied to the background layer. I usually place four colour sample points on my background image to monitor changes as I make adjustments. When I used Photoshop CS2 on my previous laptop which had Windows XP as its OS,changes were instant. I have the cache level set at 6 in Preferences with 70% available RAM set.

When I look in the file folder on my computer, PSD files do not have an image preview.
I checked in the preferences under "file handling" and "always save" is selected for "image previews."
I just received my Apple Cinema Display and I connected to a PC with Windows Vista.
The Apple Display does not have an OSD menu only a briteness (+)&(-) button on the side. If I wanted to calibrate my display with i1 Display 2 I can only use it in (Easy Mode). The reason being Easy Mode doesn't have the options for white point, gamma, luminance, contrast, rgb controls or briteness.
I've been using maintype for the past few years.

I installed PSE11 on Windows 8 machine and it ran fine once. Now it launches and I see it starting then dissapears. I think it is running in backround as i see it in task manager. I ran the compatability trouble shooter and used the recommended settings but problem persists. Also tried running as adminestrator and still same problem. The auto uploader runs fine as well but then I cant see organizer. I had the same issues with PSE10 but that ran fine on this same machine for a month. My problems started when i left PSE10 running and let the computer sleep, hybernate and eventually shut down. Ever since then PSE 10 and now PSE 11 wont run or runs in backround and I cant see them. I have unistalled and re-installed bioth to no avail. Do I need to do a PC recovery?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have CS6 installed on Windows Vista 64x bit. Everything is fine except for some inaccurate metadata. Camera raw v 6.7 is displayed instead of the latest installed ver 7.1. Also lens serial numbers are not shown or are missing. In lens specification f/0 shows up which of course is wrong.

I have two PC's running Windows Vista that I work with and both have photoshop CS3 installed, but for what ever reason on one of the PC's the Windows Photo Gallery application displays really desaturated colors when views jpg's and the like (the other PC's displays them fine).
I've googled and haven't yet found out a quality solution, lots of info on simply combining and replacing drivers and the like and nothing really set in stone from Adobe, or Microsoft etc
I recently upgraded to Windows 8 and now Photoshop is not functioning as normal when running on Windows 7. Mainly when a modification is made to an image i.e, cropping, unsharp mask, etc. the image will be blacked out, requiring clicking on the canvas area to reacquired the image. Also the canvus changes from my neutral gray setting to a grid or black background when modifications are performed. I reinstalled Photoshop CS6 Ex after the new Windows 8 installation.Â

I have two questions:

1. I can open PS Elements and can open "Organize", but when I try the "Edit", it shuts down the program. Think a file may be corrupt. I live in Canada and in Australia for 3 months so don't have access to my DVD to re-install.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI saved a photo book and while I was working on it it got closed by accident. Now I cannot open it back up into the photobook program I was working on it in. I can find the "photobook" in my saved files and when I open it, it separates each page as a file so I have to open each page separately and work on them instead of having the whole book to look at and then I can flip through the pages of the photobook and decide which page to put my photo on. I have typed this into all the help systems but nothing comes up.
