Photoshop :: CS3/Vista Upgrade

Feb 16, 2008

I have CS2, Vista, and it's working fine. I'm thinking about upgrading to CS3 and really trying to learn the program more, but:

1) I see lots of problems here with CS3 and Vista (but, of course, only those with problems post), so is it really that bad? Aren't most of you with Vista running CS3 just fine?

2) CS4 will be coming out, as I understand it, by the end of the year, and will be a major UI change- more like Lightroom. Thats the "rumor" I heard anyway, but even if it's only halfway right, do you think I should just wait and dig into the "new" version? I know that sounds logical, but then again, the end of the year (or whenever CS4 finally comes out)

Photoshop :: Install Primary On Windows Desktop And Additional On MacBook?

Jul 23, 2012

I have just purchased CS6 upgrade single user (volume licensing). Currently I have a Windows desktop and a MacBook Pro. I would like to install the primary on the Windows desktop and the additional on MacBook. Am I allowed to install primary on Windows machine and secondary on Mac machine as per EULA? I am the only user.

if it is allowed as per license since I have heard that multi platform is not allowed but I couldn't see anywhere in the EULA forbidding this.

Photoshop :: Windows Vista And PS CS2...

Jun 6, 2007

I am considering the purchase of a new computer. I have Photoshop CS2, and I am debating whether to get Windows Vista or Windows XP Pro. I have read in the database about Vista and CS2, "Installs and runs with minimal known issues." But it also states under Support for Windows Vista, "not officially." So I am wondering whether anyone has PSCS2 running under Vista,

Photoshop :: CS2 And Windows Vista 64 Bit

Jun 7, 2009

I have just loaded Photoshop CS2 onto my new laptop which has Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit as its OS. All working well except I notice that,when I made adjustments to a layer (for example,using curves to colour adjust,or even just brighten midtones),it takes a long time for any change to take place to the values of colour sample points which I may have applied to the background layer. I usually place four colour sample points on my background image to monitor changes as I make adjustments.  When I used Photoshop CS2 on my previous laptop which had Windows XP as its OS,changes were instant. I have the cache level set at 6 in Preferences with 70% available RAM set.

Photoshop :: Upgrading CS6.0 And LR4.4 From Vista To Windows 7?

Nov 18, 2013

I use a couple of systems for CS and LR only.  They are running Windows Vista (Home Edition).  I wanted to sign up for creative cloud, but the service tells me that Windows 7 (or 8) is supported, not Vista.  If I upgrade my PC to Windows 7, will the current versions of CS6 and LR 4.4 still work?  Or, do I have to buy a new version.

Photoshop :: After Upgrade To Vista 64, Photoshop CS Colors Are Off

Feb 12, 2009

I've been running an OLD version of Photoshop CS on my Windows XP machine for a long time.

However, even after researching that CS will work on 64 bit Home Premium Vista, I upgraded (with a new computer and 19 inch monitor to boot) and have major problems.

All my colors are off, whites look yellow. I did some research, and trashed the "Adobe Gamma Loader" as I read online, and it's sort of halfway fixed now - I can select the Monitors color profile and use it even though Photoshop told me it was invalid. Normally this fixes it, and most photos and things can open in RGB mode just fine. However, I am still seeing the off-color in the samples and previews and when I open any image that used CMYK even after conversion.

Lightroom :: 4.1 - Can't Import Catalog Created On MacBook Air To Windows Device

Jun 28, 2012

I'm using LR4.1 on both devices.

I just bought a MacBook Air as my travel device.  I have a Windows laptop that I use for everyday activities and processing.  I just did a shoot and imported my RAW files into a brand new catalog on the MBA. I flagged picks and did some processing (both heavy processing and light processing) on the MBA.  I saved Metadata to file, ejected the external hard drive from the MBA and then hooked it up to the Windows device.

Issue #1: I cannot open the new catalog created on the MBA on my Windows device.  It just fails.
Issue #2: When I simply synchronize the drive to the Windows laptop, the files do come in and the processing that I did comes in too.  However, the flags do not transport.  And, any adjustments I did with the adjustment brush are not available for editing on the Windows laptor.  (If I "reset" it does go back to the original RAW file, but before resetting, I have no access to the adjustement brush settings on the Windows device)

Photoshop :: CS3 Mac - Upgrade To CS5 Windows?

Apr 26, 2012

I have had CS3 installed and registered on a Mac since 2008. I want to upgrade to CS5 but change to Windows as that's my preference with photo editing software  (I already use Elements 7-8-9 on a PC).

Looking around, I just cannot find a definitive answer as to whether I can upgrade my Mac CS3 licence to a CS5 Windows licence - I see the question has been asked the other way round a few years back but the answers conflicted: Yes, no problem;  No, no way; yes but very complicated, have to write to Adobe.

There is no way I can afford to buy the complete new product (I'm now a pensioner but have programmed since 1978 and been a photographer since 1961) so an upgrade is my only route. I don't want to buy the upgrade then find it's not working....
