So they say if you save a JPG image lots of time, the image starts to lose information...
If I open up a JPG image in Photoshop, make some edits, then use the 'save as' command (using a lower quality setting), overwriting the current file open, will saving it again further compress the image that is currently open? Or does photoshop store the original file (when it was first opened) information until closed?
A while back I took a Photoshop class and remember a lesson on where you could select a region of an image and save it for the web with a high quality and select another region of the same image and save it for the web with a low quality, so that the focal point was saved with a high quality and the background was saved with a low quality. I have no idea where my notes are from this class and can not remember at all how to do this. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial about this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have started to work on an animation which will work as a splash-screen before the users see the actual site. (Yes I know... but the client wants it like this...)
The problem I have now is that the animation plays after a few seconds and that during these seconds it shows the content of the website. Besides that I still find it pretty difficult to actually position the animation the way I want.
I am using a plug-in for wordpress.
I tried fixing this with a pre-loader but this is also too slow. Is there any way I can force the animation to play sooner or to make sure they can't see the content before the animation has played?
You can find the concept of the website on: [URL]
Do any of you have any tips or ticks for removing a drop shadow from a flattened image?
I have a jpg that I received from a client for a website I'm doing for him. He does not have the logo in any other format. The image is on a white background, which will not work with the design I'm making for him.
The image is fairly simple, it's just some text with triangles, but the text has some layer effects applied to it that I'm not sure where they came from or how to recreate them.
Any ideas on how to remove the drop shadow? I have attached part of the image. If any one has ideas on how to recreate the text effects (including the texture) I am willing to do that and recreate the logo instead of trying to edit out the drop shadow.
Within the last 18 months, I've run across an Adobe TV tutorial describing how to eliminate power lines in an image but I'm unable to find the show. method besides just using the cloning tool? Or, know of the tutorial?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to resize an image and tried Gimp 2's interpolation method but nothing happened. I increased the size to 150% with 153 pixels (I think). Did I do something wrong or is Gimp just not good for interpolation?
View 3 Replies View Relatedway of opening images in CS2 where after opening they will appear in the middle of the CS screen rather then in the top left corner?

How can I select an image that is behind another without having to move the image in-front but simply selecting the one behind?
View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I have a picture with for instance 4 squares. Each square has its own color. How do I randomize the picture so that all the pixels (4 colors) are still there, but evenly divided over the picture. Blur makes it all one color, but I want to have all the original pixels.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a problem. I'm making a videogame with a videogame-making program, and I can import my videogame characters from computer images. One example is the Forest Imp monster:
PROBLEM is.. there's an invisible (because it's white) border of pixels around this monster. If you want to see it, go ahead and open the above png in Photoshop and use the Paint Bucket Tool to fill in the background, but make sure Anti-Aliased is OFF. See all the white pixels around the monster? Those show up in the videogame: ....
I'm not really sure what this is called. But i've seen pictures where the edge of the image is stretched. It's stretched so that only the pixel on the edge of the image is duplicated and it sort of forms streaks of different colors.

I have accidentally made my drawing in black and shades of black (grey) on a white background in Photoshop. Is there a way I can delete the white pixels only and then have only the grey and black pixels remaining? If possible, I don’t want a hard pixellated edge where the white and grey/black pixels meet.
What I want remaining is only the black and grey lines with a transparent background.

I'm not sure why, but Photoshop just started doing this after I converted my files to a smart object. When I try to zoom in past 50%, it displays these transparent pixel squares over the entire image. I tried rasterizing and flatting the image back, but that didn't do anything. It seems to keep doing this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the full version of Photoshop I can crop an image 1600 x 1200 pixels, then save for web. It’s a simple two step operation that seems impossible in Elements. First because you can’t crop by pixels, only by proportion. Then because the save-to-web feature seems to result in a massive gif file, not a small jpg.
