View 3 RepliesFor several years I have been managing my photos in iphoto and using PSE as an external editor for editing images. I currently use PSE 11 on an iMac with OS X Lion (version 10.7.5). My iPhoto Library is divided into a number of sub-libraries via iPhoto Library Manager. I have unexpectedly encountered a problem attempting to edit a RAW image (in this case a .NEF image from a Nikon D200) in a sub-library containing images shot in 2007. When I right click on the image and select Edit in External Editor the image opens in PSE 11 Editor, but it opens as a jpeg and not as an .NEF image. This is in spite of the fact that in iPhoto/Preferences/Advanced/RAW Photos I have checked "Use RAW when using external editor."
As an alternative approach I tried dragging and dropping the RAW image into the PSE 11 Editor icon in the Dock, but I got the same result.
In Elements 3 I could clone parts of one open image to another image. How do I do this in Elements 11?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Piccure as external editor for LightRoom 5.2. When trying to open image, I get "Image file -psn_0_S784964 doesn't exist", when my original image has different name. Image name is accepted by Piccure as first command line argument. Looks like LightRoom starts Piccure with wrong arguments.
Could it be that LightRoom starts external editor with different syntax then "/Applications/Piccure/Piccure.app/Contents/MacOS/psplugin /pathToFile/imagefile.tiff". Maybe in some cases it adds more arguments, or corrupts existing path to image?
Here is the OS sys info as well:

I having an issue with CC.When electing in the preferences to not open image in Tabs. The images open with only about 25% of the image area showing. Forcing me to (command) 0 for full to screen preview or (command) +/- to see the image.I am not talking about seeing the image at 100% resolution just the entire image within the floating window without having to command before view.
Sidenote: Adobe Customer Service is all based in India. I spent 4 hours on the phone only to hear that this is that way photoshop works. There would be no logical explanation for this. Since the first version of Photoshop this has not been the case.I think this should be called view porn with wife in the room mode. Other than that I see no point.
The Organizer and the Editor stopped working together in just 1 of my catalogs. It happens to be the catalog in which I have done the most image manipulations such as renaming, stacking, albums, rating, etc. Now, when I select a photo in Organizer and click on Fix, Edit, the Editor window comes up but the photo does not appear in Editor. The only way I can get an image into Editor is to pull it directly into Editor. Then, when I want to save it as a Version Set I have to choose File> Organize Open File in order to save the image as a version set. Other than deleting and re-creating the catalog, how can I get Editor to open the image from Organizer like it used to do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThere seem to be a problem with PSE10 and PSE11 on my computer when loading image files digitized on my film scanner. When loaded into the editor the image file immediate takes today’s date and time, and thus changes place on the timeline. However, sometimes the original image file date remains intact, for no obvious reason. I find this very frustrating.
My setup is an HP computer running Windows7 Ultimate 64 bit, with i7 processor and 12GB memory. My film scanner is a Minolta Dimage Elite II working with a Windows XP-based computer, and data are transferred using memory stick.
It might be mentioned that I have made tests with a fixed set of image files on several computers running WindowsXP 32 bit, and several versions of PSE , including PSE10, without seeing this problem.
Windows Explorer set to open image files with PSE11, but when I double click on image in WE it launches PSE11, but I then need to click on Open tab in PSE11 to get it into work window. PSE10 did not have this problem

View 1 Replies View RelatedA few months ago I bought and downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 from Adobe's website due to my Elements 8 crashing before it opens. For about a month it worked fine, but when I clicked on the logo Elements 12 wouldn't open. I would right-click my images and try to open them in Elements 12 but a window would pop up saying "Photoshop Elements 12 Editor has stopped working" (I use Windows). Using Safe Mode I fixed Elements 12 so that the window appears where I can click between Organizer and Editor. Organizer works fine, but when I click editor the loading bar appears and the "Stopped Working" screen would appear again. how I can use Editor on Elements 12 again?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Elements 11, using windows 8. When I am in the Editor mode I can't open the Organizer, I get a message that elements isnt working and needs to shut down. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using PSE 11 on an old XP pc for a couple of months - slowly. Assembled new pc around Intel 4770K (using on-chip Intel 4600 graphics) with Windows 8 64bit. When I open any photo file in the Editor, there is no error mesage, but the photo does not open. The same photos are displayed in the PSE Organizer.
I have read about updating video drivers and have done that. After doing another round of video driver updates this morning while on phone line with Adobe Support, I was able to open a couple of files, but then shut down and went to work.
Now after booting up again PSE is back to not displaying the open files again. The installed video driver remains the one installed this morning after which this did work. There are no more newer versions.
I assembled this pc for this purpose - having thousands of old slides and film to digitize and cleanup.
Also - the files that fail to open are logged into history and show in the editor Open menu as recent files, even though they have never actually been opened.
I have Photoshop Elements 11 running in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
When I double click a jpg file to open it in the editor the editor opens but the image does not open. However if I open the editor and open any jpg file then double click on another file it will open.
I have been using El 11 off and on for the past month but for some reason the Editor Worspace is not responding today.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I work in Edit mode all the time I can open as many pictures as I like from the Organizer and have them all open at the same time. If I return to the Organizer and open another image, the ones already open are not affected. However if I go to the Manager tab (which only seems to be the Organizer on a separate page) to select an image I have to close any and all items already open in the editor. Surely this cannot be intended behaviour. In X3 it was possible to open images in the Organizer which was on a separate page and then return to it and open others without the original ones closing so why can't we do this in X4? The Manager does allow multiple images to be selected and opened at the same time but these are still closed if at any time you return to the Manager.
Update: I have now read a few posts about this problem and indeed it is not possible to switch between Edit and Manage modes without closing any images you have open for editing. The general feeling seems to be that this is not a problem as the Organizer (File manager) is available in Edit mode anyway so there is no need to go to the Manage tab. However I would disagree with this as some of my folders contain large numbers of images and it is much easier to browse through them using Manager in thumbnail mode as you can see far more images at once than with the Organizer in Edit mode. Also I find that Organizer gets in the way in Edit mode and would much prefer to switch back and forth to the Manager as was possible in X3.
Even if this problem does not affect everyone it is still difficult to understand why Corel would insist that images in the Editor are closed before switching to Manage mode. I cannot personally think of one reason why this would be preferable. Additionally the Organizer in Edit mode does not appear to have any way of resizing the thumbnails to optimize the number viewable at any one time.
I have the main screen pop up and asks if I want to organize my pictures or edit them. Nothing happens when I clock edit. Then I go into the organize and try to go to edit and an error message comes up saying I need the trial to dowload to use this. I try clicking downlaod and nothing happens?
View 4 Replies View RelatedPSE 12 was working fine until I updated to 12.1. The opening screen comes up as before when you click on the desktop shortcut. The organizer will start from the opening screen, but not the editor. I changed the option to have the program open the editor directly instead of the opening screen and now nothing appears when you click on the desktop shortcut. I am able to open both the organizer and editor by clicking on their respective exe files in the program folder. I am running Windows 8.1 / 64 on a Dell Inspiron 3847 w/ 8 GB of memory.

I just purchased PSE 12. In Lightroom 5, I can set up an Edit in Photoshop Elements preset.
When I try to edit a .dng or .cr2 raw image in PSE from Lr5, the first dialog I get asks if I want to edit a copy with Lr adjustments. Then PSE opens but no file(s) are loaded.
If I open the file directly from PSE 12, it will open (with Lr5 adjustments)... but that's not the point.
getting the Lightroom 5 --> PSE 12 workflow to operate properly?
I am trying to open .jpg images in Elements 12 running on Windows 8. File, Open, (select image from thumbnails provided in directory) Nothing happens. The image doesn't appear on screen. If I try to create a new image (File, New), nothing happens either.

Why wont elements 10 open with the image inside it, when I choose edit in Elements 10, it opens the software but minus the image, it works fine in cs versions.
