Photoshop Elements :: Can't See PSE11 Editor In Applications Folder
Jan 1, 2013I recently upgraded to Photoshop Elements 11. Although I can see Adobe Photoshop 11 Organizer in my applications folder I can't see the Adobe Elements 11 Editor application. I discovered that when I was trying to set up Photoshop Elements 11 Editor as an external editor for iPhoto and Photoshop Lightroom4 but can't see the application to select it. The Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 folder in ths applications folder contains a pointer to Photoshop Elements 11, a Support Files folder and and Uninstall alias. Adobe Elements 11 Organizer appears in the applications folder above this folder. So right now when I click on a photo in iPhoto and click on edit, Elements opens up but the photo does not appear in the Elements 11 Editor workspace. Could the upgrade not have installed properly or in the right folder in applications?

Feb 19, 2014A few months ago I bought and downloaded Photoshop Elements 12 from Adobe's website due to my Elements 8 crashing before it opens. For about a month it worked fine, but when I clicked on the logo Elements 12 wouldn't open. I would right-click my images and try to open them in Elements 12 but a window would pop up saying "Photoshop Elements 12 Editor has stopped working" (I use Windows). Using Safe Mode I fixed Elements 12 so that the window appears where I can click between Organizer and Editor. Organizer works fine, but when I click editor the loading bar appears and the "Stopped Working" screen would appear again. how I can use Editor on Elements 12 again?

Sep 19, 2013I have been using PSE 11 on an old XP pc for a couple of months - slowly. Assembled new pc around Intel 4770K (using on-chip Intel 4600 graphics) with Windows 8 64bit. When I open any photo file in the Editor, there is no error mesage, but the photo does not open. The same photos are displayed in the PSE Organizer.
I have read about updating video drivers and have done that. After doing another round of video driver updates this morning while on phone line with Adobe Support, I was able to open a couple of files, but then shut down and went to work.
Now after booting up again PSE is back to not displaying the open files again. The installed video driver remains the one installed this morning after which this did work. There are no more newer versions.
I assembled this pc for this purpose - having thousands of old slides and film to digitize and cleanup.
Also - the files that fail to open are logged into history and show in the editor Open menu as recent files, even though they have never actually been opened.

When I double click a jpg file to open it in the editor the editor opens but the image does not open. However if I open the editor and open any jpg file then double click on another file it will open.

Mar 7, 2014PSE 12 was working fine until I updated to 12.1. The opening screen comes up as before when you click on the desktop shortcut. The organizer will start from the opening screen, but not the editor. I changed the option to have the program open the editor directly instead of the opening screen and now nothing appears when you click on the desktop shortcut. I am able to open both the organizer and editor by clicking on their respective exe files in the program folder. I am running Windows 8.1 / 64 on a Dell Inspiron 3847 w/ 8 GB of memory.

The re-install doesn't ask what you want to do with the current contents like the earlier versions did so I virtually just got a copy of what I already had and still can't delete. I have tried the erasrue tool but when I get too close to the edge it is not differentiating between the person and the background - the colours are not hugely different. I have tried different ways of doing it with discontinuous option. on demos, it points to the sampling option but that doesn't seem to be available as an option. I have also tried using the selection tool but it is difficult/impossible for me to accurately capture the body of the person only as it traces elements of the door behind the person.

When I go to FILE and select OPEN and then go to the folder where pictures are stored and then click on the folder nothing appears except the message "No items match your search".
