i'm trying to figure out the way to be able to make a label and put it in the corner of all my pics without having to do each one. I have thousands of pics to be labeled and doing each one would take a ton of time.
I've been looking for a solution to remove the unit string ie Lbs, g, kg from the value given from a 'Mass' value in a text string.
As you may all know, creating text and having a 'physical property - mass' value...the unit string is there...
Lots of people on here have the problem...no-one has got a solution.
Until now...
Basically...open the part you need to get the mass property of in your text string.
Follow the instructions on this webpage...this is the first part...
[URL]
Basically, this creates a Mass property value in the parameters table that you can call on as a text parameter.
It's similar to the custom iproperty model - mass but NOT the same.
Once you have done this, you can go to the drawing of the part and create a text string in the drawing and call it up as shown in this procedure. BUT it still has the unit string.
Here's the best bit that you want to know...
To get RID of the unit string...open up the part again from the drawing...click on the parameter icon...find the user parameter...in the Nominal value column, right click on the value and you get a pop-up that gives you 3 options...
Custom Property Format, Make Multi Value & Delete Parameter.
Click on Custom Property Format.
The pop-up window comes up...showing you the property type...in my case...the 4 left columns read Text, g (grams), Format & Precision...
On the right hand side I have a Preview of the text...then 3 check boxes...Units string, Leading Zero's, Trailing Zero's.
Units string is checked.
Uncheck it.
Close it...Save your part...go back to the drawing and hey presto!...the text now shows the weight you require as a straight value...no units!
I have made an ettiquette for a bottle. (just a square with some design on it)
What I want to do is to merge my design on a photo of a bottle ( Picture of the bottle is taken from the side).
Now the problem is that the natural perspective of a normal bottle is that it bulges a bit to the bottom and to the top (because of the circular forms)
So how can I bulge my label slightly to match perspective of the bottle? (not sideways, but the top/bottom of the label)
I have tried everything (i think) with the transformation tools in photoshop, but none of them can disort a picture from the center top and center bottom. Only from the sides and the corners..
I spoke to a photoshop guru about my problem but he could not get around the problem either. He advised me to take the whole project in to a 3d application, but I feel that if there was an easy way to do this in photoshop it would save me lots of time.
A small problem, but one I thought it can't hurt to ask about. At least on my DVD/Blu Ray player, when a DVD is stopped while playing, the tv monitor's screen reverts to a home page that lists the name(s) of the movies on the inserted DVD. So if the DVD is Star Wars, the screen will display something like "Star Wars: the Movie" and "Star Wars: Additional Content," which represents the two titles the player recognizes from the inserted disk. (Note that this is not the DVD menu, but something the player is reading from the disk prior to launching DVD.) When the inserted DVD has been created by Video Studio Pro X6 and is then stopped, if there are, say, two film clips on the DVD, the screen displays Just the words "Title 1" and "Title 2".
My first question, then, is whether VS Pro X6 allows me to give the clips actual titles, say "The Zoo," and "The Park," so that these titles, rather than the generic "Title 1" and "Title 2" will display when the DVD is stopped.
My second question is whether VS Pro X6 allows me to issue instructions so that when "The Zoo" or "The Park" (or for that matter "Title One" or "Title 2") is selected from the player, that the DVD's menu will come up rather than the selected clip. (This question is even less important than the first, but while I'm on the topic, thought I'd ask; I have adjusted the settings so that a finished clip is followed by the DVD menu, but I'd like to be able to launch the menu from the player without removing and replacing the disk or starting a clip and then interrupting it by selecting Menu.)
I have a large number of screen caps from a DVD that I'm going to make a GIF out of. First, however, I need to use Photoshop to crop the images down to the part of the frame that I want. Is there a way to crop using coordinates or something? All of the images are the same size, so I figure that's the best thing to do.
I can't figure out how! I know Lightroom has a feature, but the freedom with that one (fonts/colors/size) I have 900 images to stick a watermark on, and I really need to know how to do it in Photoshop CS4Thanks!
I have recreated two surfaces for my design, existing and proposed. I had used polylines for contours for in each surface. I tried labeling the contours but it will not let me select the contour itself.
I then tried to make the contours to 3d polylines and again added them to the surface and rebuilt. I still am not allowed to label the contour since it doesn't let me select the polyline. I am able to select the surface however.
I wanted to know how people are labeling or taging the "parts" of their construction, like walls. I want to be able to tag the parts so that a description of the part is pulled from the material so a change to the material affects all lables and tags.
The 2 problems I am running into
1. in a 3D mode I cannot use a materials tag, and so have to rely on a Tag by Category, which limits me to the material name. I want to be able to refer to any of the properties in the material identity tag.
2. In a section or plan view, I can use a material tag, so I can refer to Description, Comments Keywords, etc, but the tags keep going blank and need to be "reloaded" anytime I change anything in the view. If I change the crop boundary, change from Show Parts to Show Original and return to Show Parts, change scale, anything; the tags return to ?. I have to select each tag and then click off of them for the parameters to be displayed; I feel like I am back in ADT with refresh and reload all.
I have imported a DXF file from map info into autocad, these seed points contain x,y values but also if you list properties they also contain other information in this came names. I need these names to appear beside the point in autocad for printing purposes . There are 1619 points and hand tying would be a huge task.
I am doing a few simple plot plans and I would like to find simpler way to place the bearings of the property lines just by clicking on them or the ends of each line like I do for their length. I just use a Aligned dimension with everything turned off except the text so that is parallel with the lot line.
There is probably a simple solution I'm just not finding one, I cut and past the text out of the quick calculation now and rotate it, and I know there's a better way.
I have over 500 pictures which i want to modify, all of them need a few filters applied, is there like a macro or something that i can do this with? i dont wan to modify each one and save it one by one.
Is there a way to convert a bunch of files at the same time from one image file format to another? I am converting JPEG to PDF. I had it all finished (I did it manually),
Any way to label a pipe part way between structures? I would like to be able to label a sanitary line where a service ties in with the main line invert.
We do a lot of labeling in paper space and have been encountering a problem with our dimension command mislabeling lengths and widths. Please see attached DWG. The road width should be 24' and its labeling it 880'. BUT measuring hoizontally it seemed to work fine. Really strange.
I am using the dimension command and snapping nearest and perpendicular. If I just click without using osnap it seems to work.
We tried using the DIM / DIMFLAC / V / and selectiong viewport
The funny thing is that I dont have this problem with every drawing. Just some seem to have this glitch.
I want to label the surface sections (eg, fg) in a single location something like what is shown in the attached image.
Currently I am using a major offset label which refers to the surface description* where the surface name is stored. I set the increment to a suitable number which results in multiple labels along the section. I then drag one into position and delete the rest using ctrl-select. While it would be far easier to use multileaders to acheive the correct look, they don't update location with the section views.
We use the description to store the 'friendly' name as our object naming standard wouldn't necessarily make sense to the viewer of the plans.
I am labeling structures in a network on the profile view. I cannot get the leader when i drag the label to anchor to the top of the structure? Is there a way to do this, i figured out how to have the label insert at the middle of the top line of the structure.

how label only the top of my road surface in section view? The road slopes -2% towards a ditch but my my code set labels both the top of road(-2%) and what I assume is the bottom of the road surface (2%) which I don't want to show.
Is it also possible to label my side slopes as 4:1 instead of 25%?
I'm running 2012. Is it still true that I need to label my contours in every drawing? I have a drawing that contains my existing surface (about 90 Acres). I have labeled the contours in that drawing. I then have a output drawing that the existing contours are a data shortcut. The contour labels do not show up.
Often I've found myself dealing with some pretty complicated surfaces that have a lot of nooks and crannies, and many of the contour lines are only in a corner of the surface or are small and closed, and thus when I find myself wanting to have contour labels on all of the contours, there's not really one line I can draw using the "Create Multiple Labels at Interval" option to ensure that every contour is labeled. Thus I end up doing "Create Multiple At Interval" with a few different lines intersecting contours, but I often end up hitting some of the contours multiple times and I get a mess of labels.
I haven't been able to find a way to automatically just multiple labels on all of the contours at an interval in one fell swoop, so I started trying to program one...but then I got stuck with that, too.
Does any built-in method of doing what I want to do, or do I need to continue pursuing a programmatic solution?
How can I make better the second labeling precision in Civil 3D? It's only has four digits precision for the seconds. I did change the ambient settings (Lat Long precision to 8) but haven't got the result.
I have a drainage model, the data for which has been imported from microdrainage into Civil3d (.sws file) .
The engineer working on the project is playing around with the Invert and Cover levels so I reload the same updated .sws file into my model almost daily expecting the information shown in the labels of the pipes and manholes to simply change. Instead mine seem to disappear and I have to relabel the whole network again.
This wouldn't be much of a problem because labeling only takes a few minutes but with this particular scheme, the client wants the labels shown in a box with a leader. When I relabel, the boxes automatically snap to the center of the manholes without a leader and i then have to drag each one away from the manhole to get the leader to show up.
Where do I set the contour labeling line to not show or be on layer defpoints. When I click on the label line and right click I can edit the contour label line properties and change the Display contour label line to false but not sure where the style is.
[URL] I want to label my XY coordinates as same as in the above drawing(see the link above) with X and Y values. Unfortunately, i did not accomplish this task till now.
More, i would like to represent the angle between the two lines by just showing the corresponding symbol as he done in the above link with right angle symbol and then labeling the symbol at the top left corner.
How can I show the description (in this case, MUDSTONE) in a profile label? I've tried modifying the style but the description refuses to appear even though it is one of the available labels.
When I draw in the profile layout I'm getting odd results when the labeling is placed. See attachment. I have been looking through the styles trying to find what is wrong.
Everytime I use the label line command, when I go to plot my drawing I see a box around my label and the label is either chopped off or missing. A rectangle prints out around where the label is.
