I have a large number of screen caps from a DVD that I'm going to make a GIF out of. First, however, I need to use Photoshop to crop the images down to the part of the frame that I want. Is there a way to crop using coordinates or something? All of the images are the same size, so I figure that's the best thing to do.
I've got about 200 photos that need to be re-cropped from 720x486 to something smaller. Is there a way to do this to the entire lot with a single command?
I've been looking for a solution to remove the unit string ie Lbs, g, kg from the value given from a 'Mass' value in a text string.
As you may all know, creating text and having a 'physical property - mass' value...the unit string is there...
Lots of people on here have the problem...no-one has got a solution.
Until now...
Basically...open the part you need to get the mass property of in your text string.
Follow the instructions on this webpage...this is the first part...
[URL]
Basically, this creates a Mass property value in the parameters table that you can call on as a text parameter.
It's similar to the custom iproperty model - mass but NOT the same.
Once you have done this, you can go to the drawing of the part and create a text string in the drawing and call it up as shown in this procedure. BUT it still has the unit string.
Here's the best bit that you want to know...
To get RID of the unit string...open up the part again from the drawing...click on the parameter icon...find the user parameter...in the Nominal value column, right click on the value and you get a pop-up that gives you 3 options...
Custom Property Format, Make Multi Value & Delete Parameter.
Click on Custom Property Format.
The pop-up window comes up...showing you the property type...in my case...the 4 left columns read Text, g (grams), Format & Precision...
On the right hand side I have a Preview of the text...then 3 check boxes...Units string, Leading Zero's, Trailing Zero's.
Units string is checked.
Uncheck it.
Close it...Save your part...go back to the drawing and hey presto!...the text now shows the weight you require as a straight value...no units!
I can't figure out how! I know Lightroom has a feature, but the freedom with that one (fonts/colors/size) I have 900 images to stick a watermark on, and I really need to know how to do it in Photoshop CS4Thanks!
i'm trying to figure out the way to be able to make a label and put it in the corner of all my pics without having to do each one. I have thousands of pics to be labeled and doing each one would take a ton of time.
I have over 500 pictures which i want to modify, all of them need a few filters applied, is there like a macro or something that i can do this with? i dont wan to modify each one and save it one by one.
Is there a way to convert a bunch of files at the same time from one image file format to another? I am converting JPEG to PDF. I had it all finished (I did it manually),
This isn't new or original, so I know there's got to be a better way to streamline it. Me and my team are going to be at an event, and we're going to take lots of photos. We want a way to very quickly apply a template around these photos. In this case, we're making it look as if the photos are the front page of a newspaper. Â I'm speaking to one of my company's designers, and he seems to think we would have to do this manually in Photoshop 1 by 1, but I know there has to be a better way. There are tons of iPhone (etc) apps to apply templates/skins to photos. Â What's the easiest solution to my problem?
I have 300 photos that are being saved as thumbnails for my online store. I am looking to see if I am able (in automated batch saving) to add "-TN" after the document name, before the extension. It will let me add the dash but not "TN." Â An example of how my document name needs to be is "MyFile-TN.gif".
I'am currently working on an animation using Mass FX. Only a part of the animation is really difficult for me to figure out.
See my badly drawn scematic. The Sphere's are Dynamic, they need to fall down.
The lower part is made up out of 2 large doors, connected with hinges on the side. The doors swing open. What is the best and easiest way too make this happen?
I tried it with the doors as static, but then the spheres just keep hanging in mid-air.
I'm trying to convert a few thousand files from dwg to pdf and I believe I'm on the right track but am a little stuck. I'm attempting to use DWG TrueView though I have limited access to AutoCAD for like template creation and such.
I seem to have trouble getting some of them to plot/publish and also it seems many of the layouts don't show the entire actual view (like I see 1/4 corner taking up the entire page) - scaling problems.
My procedure is to create model and sheet page setup files in AutoCAD to use the built in DWG to PDF printer and 8.5" x 11" landscape. So I open the acad.dwt template file, and save one for model and one for layout after setting the above settings.
I then open one of the drawings and run batch plot, then I set the list with all the layout only drawings (was going to do models later) and import the page setup file for drawings. I am getting an error saying the layout is not initialized -I was going to consider using AutoCAD and MultiBatch to initialize the layouts. If I attempt to plot now I currently do not see any PDFs created even though the logs say about 6 or so completed.
I just got Photoshop CS4 (Design Suite Standard) last week after having used Elements (2, then 3) for the last five years. In Elements, when you use the crop tool, you can move the entire frame around by clicking on the dot in the center and moving it. It seems that in CS4, when I attempt to move the frame, only the center dot moves without moving the frame lines. I looked through the PDF manual, but couldn't find any explanation how to change this. I'll likely be back with more questions as I try to learn how to use CS4.
I had this happen with CS3 once; it was suggested to reinstall;
This time I have reinstalled PS CS4 twice (uninstalled first) and it still does this.
My PS CS3 was a separate PS package; the CS4 is part of the Adobe Creative Suite 4 (standard). The second reinstall, I reinstalled the whole Creative Suite. Still does the disappearing act.
I go to crop or use the marquee tool(such as to make a border, when I put the cursor where I want it and left click to start cropping(for example) very often the cropping lines just do not stay where I want them...they go all over the place. This happens with both tools...
I am having problem to crop using ratio instead of values of inches or pixels. In cs2 if i enter any values eg. 6 in width and 4 in height w/out specifying the unit it will use that value as ration instead, in this case 6:4. No resolution as i dont want to resample.
But when i tried this in cs3 it will use the value and i will get a 6 by 4 inches image instead of ratio.
Is there any method to create sweep or shaped object in mass (should be in dimension) using Revit 2012. Â The creation of sweep/revolve/blend is not available in Mass of Revit 2012. Â Because the method of mass is difference comparing to Revit 2008 with Revit 2012.
We just noticed that the imported cad geometry in a Mass family will not cut in a floor plan view which contains a plan region. Regardless of the location or height of the plan region.
When I import a AutoCad 2D file (include several layers) into Revit, how can I extrude layer by layer (for having mass )? I mean I need to have a chance for selecting my layers separately in Revit (like in AutoCad) and then create Mass by layers.
i am developing some code to read in mass dxf OR dwg files, seperate the two, then convert each to a database to be read later. however, whenever i run it, i get this error: System.AccessViolationException:
Attempted to read or write protected memory. this is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
at AcDbDatabase.dxfIn(AcDbDatabase*, Char*, Char*)     at Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices.Database.DxfIn(String fileName, String logFilename)     at ZahnerCommands.Commands.GetFiles()....line 72
here is the code that i have so far. i have been tinkering around with it for a few days and cannot seem to get it to work. the dxf file i have chosen works perfectly well, and i am using autocad 2011.
using Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices; using Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices; using Autodesk.AutoCAD.EditorInput; using Autodesk.AutoCAD.Runtime;
Simply wondering how possible it is, because we've got roughly 2400 files that need to be re-saved without RLE compression due to causing issues in the conversion process. A manual job would take quite a while.
If there's no way of automating the process, is there any way of reducing the time of re-saving every image individually at all?
Photoshop 6. If I crop an image in photoshop 6 it becomes a 'layer'which I then need to 'flatten' before saving as a jpg file. How do I stop this happening?
I haven't been able to figure out how to use the Straighten tool without cropping.  I am starting with a full page image with Pixel Dimensions of 9750 x 13050 pixels, and a Document Size of 8.125 x 10.875 inches. I want to use the Straighten tool, and then use the Patch tool to fix the resulting irregularities around the edges.  But no matter what I try, I end up with smaller Pixel Dimensions and a smaller Document Size; for example: 9725 x 13016 pixels and 8.104 x 10.847 inches. This occurs regardless of whether I have the Delete Cropped Pixels boxed checked.  I also tried starting with a Canvas Size of 8.125 x 10.875 inches, and using Place…to bring in the image. But the Straighten process still results in a similar reduction in the Pixel Dimensions and Document Size.  I am accessing the Straighten tool via the Crop tool. Is there any other method to Straighten?  The screenshots below show the original Image Size (top) and the Image Size after Straighten (bottom).
I am having difficulty with the new cropping tool in CS6... It is said to be a huge leap forward, however, I am finding it to be a big step backward. Â The Issue? Â In all of my previous versions of Photoshop I have been able to go to the crop tool, set the size that I wanted the photo to be after cropping and that would be the size I get. This is something that I can no longer do in CS6... Or if I can it is not as simple. As a professional Photographer that takes anywhere from 500 to 900 photos per sporting event that I do, I need to be able to quickly go in and crop my photos to the size I want them to be and away I go.
How to continue this feature in the new Photoshop I will glad take it... but as of right now, I do not have the time to sit there and fiddle with the crop tool until the images is the size that I need it to be.
Is it too much to ask to be able to say I want a Photo cropped to 8x12 and actually get that?! For right now I will be going back to using my CS5 Photoshop so I can actually get my photos done.
I have a question regarding the cropping tool in PS CS5. When I attempt to crop an image by manually entering the dimensions in the top of PS it takes an insane amount of time.
I have yet to actually have an image complete the process because after waiting about 30 minutes to only have the image be at 30% progress I cancel the operation. It is only when I enter the dimensions manually that it does this. When I just do a random crop the task is done in a matter of seconds.
