I'm using APS version 6,
If I make a change, like Invert of a filter, it doesn't apply to all open underlying layers no matter if they are Linked, Grouped or anything else I can figure out. Adjustment Layers do apply to all below, but not other kinds of changes/filters.
After I open a new layer, I cannot move to lower layers and relocate the images on the background anymore. Also, sometimes for no reason the image will freeze up and I can no longer move it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using CS6 and noticed that whenever I delete a layer that was a dupe of another layer with links (although not linked specifically to the deleted layer), the undeleted original layers become invisible on the canvas even though they are still visible in the layers pallette. I've been able to recreate this several times. Nothing I do will make the layers visible -I've tried moving them all to the top of the layers palette, making sure their opacity is 100%, making sure there are no layer effects, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make this one effect on rasterized text. The effect works best on a black background, but the background and text have to be merged or it looks wrong. The thing is, is that I want the effect of the text seperate so that it's got a transparent background. What I was wondering is if there was some way to make 2 layers act as if they are 1, without them being merged.

It doesn't grey when I open a video file. I'm tried using JPEG and GIF files as the layers, but am unsure what I'm to do at this point.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm making ID badges. I have made a template for the artwork and then added each photo individually to a box sized area. The images are already cropped to squares, but I had to resize each one to fit in the box. Then I have to make each one visible in order to save all of the images of the IDs.
I'd like to be able to add a group of images (all square) as layers to a pre-defined area and have photoshop resize each accordingly. It would be great if I could batch save the images, too and not have to hide each successive image.
Basically I have about 15 layers of images that I have to resize so they are all the same dimentions, without loosing quality, but if there are no options, I'm willing to losse quality.

clicking on the mask icon gives the prohibitory sign.
Frame animation plays fine when played from timeline but all layers are exported stacked on top of each other for the duration of the whole animation. I'm able to see that because the layers have transparency.
About animation - 8 frames with in endless loop, imported into a timeline via 'Make Frames from Layers' command in a fly-out menu in the Timeliine window. Tweens for animation are off, 01.sec delay for all frames
I was able to export animated GIF before, wondering if this issue is tied to the latest update.

I'm trying to make a camera mapping in softimage from photoshop layers (matte painting). But I´ve a problem with the alpha channel. The layers shows a gray halo that surrounds them.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm viewing photo at zoom lower than 64% banding kicks in. At zoom higher than 63% everything smoothed out. It's giving me a hard time when I'm trying to retouch big files at lower magnification because actually I cant know until I zoom in do I'm removing something what exist or actually not!
I know it's an issue regards do displaying preview of 16bit image as 8bit image. I was checking this in many ways and it appears only in 16bit mode. I'm quite a quality maniac so I always retouch in 16bit mode and ProPhoto color space to give myself a bit more room to play with post production.
Please take a look at snaps made using windows snipping tool. All images are in ProPhoto color space but I also have tried this in RGB and it looks quite the same.

View 2 Replies View Related I'm attaching a document, created in CS6 that is giving me grief when trying to open and use in lower versions. (have created documents for a group of people with various versions)
Have created two rectangle shapes,(white stroke, no fill, shape tool not path) each living on it's own layer, have added ancor points to then delete a portion of the rectangle creating needed opening at the top.
I would like the end user to be able to use his direct selection tool, to be able to increase or decrease the size of the opening as he needs. (imagine if you will, typing a name in the provided opening... different length names need different size openings)
When saved (maximim compatibility on) and opened in CS2 I receive this message: unknown data has been encountered reading layer (layer xxxxx) will be discarded... continue?
The artwork is all still there, but I loose the ability to direct select (ancor points) the shapes. Can move it around as a whole, but that wasn''t the perk.

PS always unchecks the checkbox "Use Lower Case Extension" when saving a file, even though I specified in the preferences that I want PS to save default to lower case.

I'm trying to create a lower thirds that will include some motion, otherwise I might try Photoshop for this. But basically, I'm trying to create a gradient using ramp in AE so that the lower thrids I've created fades away on the sides. Similar to the image I've attached. I don't know how to make the layer that I put the ramp effect on affect the other layers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedGradient and color banding are very apparent and exaggerated until I zoom in to 66.6%. It even hangs for a split second as if it is solving a new render at a higher quality. This is getting frustrating as I've found myself manually trying to clean up issues that actually aren't there when I zoom in close enough. These issues are expecially obvious when working with skin using several degrunge techniques and dodge and burn on a softlight layer. It does not seem to matter what display I use.
If I commit all adjustments to a new layer the problem goes away. I'm working on a Eurocom Panther 3 running Windows 7 64 Ultimate. I have a hex core Intel processor and 2 Nvidia 580m in SLI, though I am aware that is not used in Photoshop.
I want to re size a lot of images to a lower quality. Is there a way of doing this process without having to open each individual file time after time. All the images are different sizes. I just want to lower the size of the file for putting in a pdf catalogue.
