View 8 RepliesI am working on CAD 2010 Civil 3D. I have a block object that I would like to make wider, but not taller. How can I do that. (Right now block is 6" wide. I'd like it to be 2-feet wide, but not change with height).

I want to extend it on the left so I can make it a desktop wallpaper. However, the original photo does not extend far enough to allow me to just crop differently. How can I, using GIMP, fill up the new space so that it looks like the sky that's already there?
I have GIMP for Mac version 2.8.3.
when I tried downloading and installing this INCREMENT app from the Exchange Store. First, I can't get this to run at all. If I go into the CUI settings dialogue, I don't see this plug-in listed anywhere where it should appear. It had occurred to me that maybe the only way this app works is from the plug-in tab and not from the command line, but I'm not sure that makes any sense, either seems it should work either way, if I'm interpreting the documentation correctly. But, I cannot make my ribbon tab appear to check out my probably mistaken theory (see above). Navigating around the CUI dialogue and checking the settings for my tab, I see that it is set to "show" and there is every indication that it should appear, but there seems to be something buggy or suspicious going on with the
Control-0 (clean screen) toggle and/or the Control-9 (command line) toggle as well?I don't see how either of these would have any affect on the visibility of my tab, if they were toggled to the correct setting. I am the only person using this workstation so it's not like there is a profile issue at work here.
I am new in the autodesk customization, I have autocad 2013 and visual studio 2010..I am interested in make a custom ribbon tab, where I can put a button.
I have found some (incomplete) samples to implement a custom ribbon tab, but I dont know how to "insert" my tab into autocad 2013, and how must I load my tab? with a command? or it can load automatically?
I was working on a drawing file when my ribbon went haywire. My layer drop down seems frozen so it only shows the current layer and the hatch edit ribbon does not function properly.
The issue with the layer drop down is if I select a line, fill, etc. on any layer the layer drop down on the home ribbon does not change to show the layer that item is on and if I select multiple items on different layers which usually causes the drop down to go blank it still shows the current layer. The object color, line thickness and linetype all change on the properties tab to show the properties of the selected item so the entire home ribbon is not frozen. If I scroll through the layer drop down and select a layer to move the selected item to a new layer AutoCAD responds *Invalid selection* Expects a point or Window/Last/Crossing/BOX/All/Fence . . .
The hatch edit ribbon is completely useless. The angle and scale boxes are greyed out and if I select any of the buttons (Set Origin, change hatch pattern, etc.) AutoCAD again responds with *Invalid selection* . . .
The only CUI shown is the ACAD.CUIX and I have done a Reset and Restore, changed the workspace, restarted AutoCAD and restarted my computer. What am I missing?

How do I Load CUI File (Ribbon Tabs) And Make Visible via .NET?
I know how to load a cui file, I know how to make a Ribbon... but how do I load a CUI file and then make the ribbon visible via code?
.NET Code or Refernce to the correct objects and properties would sure work.
I have made a 2012 LT custom ribbon and a custom panel. I have transferred buttons from my autocad 2006 to my 2012 LT. They work just fine. The probem is that in 2006 I had drop down buttons to save toolbar space. I want to be able to add the drop down button feature to my new panel. I do not see how to create that type of button, so I can add the regular buttons to it and have one drop down button with those commands in it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedNot sure what I did, but one file that I am regularly working in, while in Modelspace, has changed to really thick lines and all of the lines are a shade of grey or black. From the viewport in Paperspace, the colors and everything looks fine. I assume that I have somehow toggled a Setvar and need to toggle it back.

I position the ribbon locked to the side of my display because I have a wide screen & if docked to the top I end up with a very wide, skinny drawing area. when ever I make a change tp the ribbon contents it goes back to the default top position, after which I have to relocate it again. Is there a way to get it to remember the previous position of the ribbon?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to customize Autocad 2012 ribbon tab. I can't seem to find how to mimic the small arrow that appears in several of the standard menus. For example, in the 3D Solids - Home Tab, the second panel from the left is "3D Solids Home - Mesh" It has a small arrow in the corner that opens up a preferences dialogue box.
How can I add that arrow to a custom panel with that little arrow so that I can add my command to it?
No command will work from the Ribbon. I've changed workspaces and tried a backup CUI file. Is my system corrupt or is there some setting that displays the ribbon, but disables the commands within it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Civil3d 2011 and the ribbon will not display. The button seem to work some times but I can't see the ribbon, QAT, or Infocenter. I tried relaoding the CUI files, updated video card drivers, Civil3D patches, even uninstalled and reinstalled Civil3D.
I can turn the ribbon off (ribbonclose) and the ribon area is rendered correctly on the screen. I can turn the menubar on/off and it works just fine.
I tried logging on to the computer as different user, as the administrator, etc. Same error.
I use the Ribbon but now I can't because I can't see it.
I have attached a screen shot of the ribbon area.
I think tool palette with vertical tabs are a lot of unconfortable...
Is there any way to have or to create a "mega-subassemblies-ribbon" ?

Autodesk.Windows.RibbonControl ribbonControl = Autodesk.Windows.ComponentManager.Ribbon; RibbonTab Tab = new RibbonTab(); ribbonControl.Tabs.Add(Tab); // create Ribbon panels Autodesk.Windows.RibbonPanelSource panel1Panel = new RibbonPanelSource(); panel1Panel.Title = "Panel1"; RibbonPanel Panel1 = new RibbonPanel(); Panel1.Source = panel1Panel; Tab.Panels.Add(Panel1);
I saw some source that hinted you could use panel1Panel.AddSlideout() but in the search I do not see any Ribbon API that allows for any slideout functionality?Do you *have* to use the CUI API for this?
We recently installed Civil 3D on our computers. Some people started working in regular AutoCAD first rather than changing the workspace in Civil 3D. They have customized their ribbons. Is there a way we can copy those customizations and apply them to the 2D Drafting & Annotation workspace in Civil 3D?

My IRM officer had to install some sort of update to my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 package. When I loaded AutoCad, it gave me a message where my ribbon was that "The Ribbon does not have any tabs or panels currently loaded." I was able to fix this with the WSCURRENT command, but when I switch to the "Task-based Geospatial" or the Tool-based Geospatial" module, I cannot get the Ribbon back.

There does seem to be a rebuild command in the API but I am not a programmer. Is this possible without programming?
